This is a great getaway spot. It tends to be crowded on weekends, but if you get there early it's not bad at all. Parking is $6 it includes the trails for biking or hiking. All of the climbing, water activities and rope courses can be purchased at a reasonable fee.

I started going here for the free daily yoga sessions. I ve invested in the parking pass ( much better than the $6 per visit parking), and I love it. There s a little hidden spot in the woods with beautiful trees and little Christmas lights where everyone comes together to just be peaceful. Although the free yoga sessions have ended for the year, I will be back in March!
This place is truly fun. Lots of whitewater activities and numerous trails of varying difficulty. Lots of events including music, races and more. Get the annual pass.
Literally a Disneyland for adults. If you like activities outside there is something here for you. Add on top of that decent food and really good beer (for not a bad price) and this is a good day trip for anyone. Only downside is if you go on a weekend it will be crowded, and that can slow things down a bit.
Just walked around. People ice skating, really long zip line, looks like amazing mountain biking trails. Whitewater was shut down for the winter. But definately bringing my 20 & 17 year olds up for their birthdays this summer - 2020.
I love watching people rafting, zip lining, rock wall clumping. The raft has 1 to 4 white water rafting. Teams train here for the Olympics. You can rent equipment or take your own. Go and have fun. They also have a food court and shop
Best collection of Mt bike trails in Charlotte. Only $5 to park and ride. Enjoy all the other amenities with a day pass, its well worth the money. Went during the week, we were able to hit everything and enjoy dinner at the restaurant. Always a great time!
Beautiful place, be careful if you bring kids like want to go in the water, no gates around the white water rapids. Everything is so fun. Great events, great music.
We have been here several times and it never disappoints. Plan on spending the whole day here. So much to do! Biking, ropes courses, zip lines and of course white water rafting. You can come and spend the day just watching and listening to music when they have bands. Just pay for parking. My son has his own bike for the mountain biking trails so we just paid to park. Great day outdoors with your family and friends!
Great for all outdoor adventurers of every age shape and size! A great place to bring the family for some great outdoor fun! Or hang out with friends in the afternoon and have a nice meal. The staff and the place in and of itself is suited to make sure everyone has a safe and worthwhile experience every time they go! I would know, i've been going for over two years now!
While it can be crowded on weekends, the number of activities available for free is truly outstanding- and largely unknown. Trails for hiking or biking, yoga classes throughout the week, and the famed river jams are all a lot of fun for the cost of parking. If you're a bit more financially flush, the climbing walls are constantly changing, the ropes courses are challenging, and the water options are really nice. A fantastic outing that can change every time.
Great place if you like adventures! If you dont want to wait in lines come early! Be prepared to walk alot and make sure you wear closed toe shoes! My wife and I loved it!
There are so many fun activities to do here. There is whitewater rafting, mountain biking, zip lines, ropes courses, obstacle courses, rock climbing, trail running, and much more. You can spend several days here and still have more to do. The rafting is very fun and exhilarating. Mounting biking is fun with good trails. The ropes course vary in difficulty and are physically demanding. I recommend the all activity pass. If you don't rent bikes the trails are free. Very fun.
Great experience!! I brought my wife here for her birthday get-a-way in Charlotte!! We had a blast!! First time experiences!! We definitely will go again and bring family and friends with us!!
I really like this place. It's an adventure park for all ages and abilities. You can spend all day or a half a day. They do serve food here. You can buy day passes and go on tours.
Too much to do in one day! Beautiful setting, fantastic activities, friendly, helpful, safety focused staff. My kids loved the canyon activities and did the white water rafting twice. Ate lunch at the restaurant and the food was great. Huge portion for the price. Wait staff was great too! If we lived here would definitely get a season pass.
I would never go back there, due to my dealings with Jeff Wise (the director) over serious safety concerns a few years ago. His attitude was cavalier and dismissive. The guide was out of control, and kept hitting on my 18 year old niece, trying to grab her and pretend he would push her in, even over her protests.. Then, he put the raft under the waterfall, kept it there so the water would fall on the front of the raft, which eventually knocked me off. I bounced off the rocks and walls for about 150-200 yds, before they could pull me back in. Had scrapes on my arm and bruised shoulder and butt. After we got off at the unloading my sister told me the guide had said, "Watch this, someone's going in".as he kept the raft under the waterfall. Called Jeff Wise the next day, explained to him what happened. He said his guides would never act like that, and sort of accused me of fibbing.. I asked him to follow up with me after he talked to the guide. He said that was none of my business, and he said he would handle it. My niece's mom, my sister, also called him a couple of times, but he never returned her call. This director is an accident waiting to happen with this sort of attitude toward safety.
Wonderful experience to just walk around this natural feeling adventure park with all the amenities. Spend the $60 to do all the full experience and you are rewarded with some really fun and friendly rafting guides to bring the juice to your trip! Winner winner!
Parking should be free since our tax dollars pay for it. Worked here once upon a time and have seen the USNWC disregard the dirty water issue until someone died. Maybe criminal penalties should be pushed against Jeff for cuttings corners and not paying for water filtration.
The white water rafting pool was closed due to covid, but the zip lining and other things were open. Also, it's fun to just walk around! Lots of nature to appreciate :)
My favorite place in Charlotte!!! Such a variety of activities, drinks, bike trails, food options and sitting areas. If you have no intentions of buying a pass to do any activity, you literally can go to watch people rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding you name it. Such a great place to take family or friends visiting Charlotte!
Very "physically active" place. We went for the music today, didn't do activities this time because we had a two year old boy with us. The music could be heard throughout the center. It was clean and well organized. We were in front of the white water river, could see the stage and watch ziplines. People had their dogs on leashes. There were rocks for child to climb on, we walked some and watched rafts and kayaks in the rapids. We've done the rapids on other visits. It's fun and they are very safety conscious. Lots of trails for bikes and a variety of rock climbing.
Great all round outdoor experience. whether you want to just go for a walk around the man made rapids, have a beer on Belmont island, or take a stroll through the woods down to the Catawba river. Oh and you may want to actually do some of the activities that are available. White water rafting - level three and level four. Rock climbing , zip lines, and mountain biking are just a few of the primary activities. There is a Restaurant onsite and music events in the spring and summer, included with your paid parking. We are lucky to have this beautiful area in Charlotte!
We just moved to the area and wanted to check this place out. So we went during the week in the afternoon since it would be less crowded. Which it was and that was great. We walked around and went to the guest services desk to ask about pricing for the activities. Upon walking up the girl Kira with an attitude on her face says what s up? . She completely came off very rude from the first moment which was super weird. I asked if she had a pricing list I could take and she just pointed at the wall. Like what kind of customer service is this???? Super rude for our first introduction to the place.
This place was fantastic and the staff was top notch. My son is special needs and very easily gets scared of such activities but the staff was highly professional, extremely patient and calm, and worked with him until he went right off the highest zip line ... and now we have created a monster :). I couldn't be happier with how the whole experience went today and great credit goes to a well trained and professional staff.
Fantastic environment for anything that has to do with outdoor activities. Great and convenient restaurant service as well. Can easily spend the whole day here. From Whitewater rafting, to yoga in the forest, they have something for everyone.
My daughter and I walked the trail around the lake. The path was well-marked, so I didn't feel like I was gonna get lost. There are lots of roots along the path so factor in extra time when hiking versus a flat surface. It was peaceful and relaxing. Felt very safe. Saw a cute little turtle and a alot of athletic guys riding bikes on the path.
Activities, food, drinks, live music, and lots of dogs. This place has something for everyone! We love going on nights they have live music or days they have events. Bring the dogs, bring lawn chairs, and enjoy!
Visiting from Texas and I loved this place. If I lived in Charlotte I would come here all the time. They have rock climbing whitewater rafting, endless amounts of MTB trails, zip lining, and an obstacle course. I went mountain biking and rented a bike from them. Only $45 for a Specialized Stumpjumper, for two hours. Make sure you ask to upgrade to FS or they will just give you a one speed mountain bike which I have no clue how you re supposed to do climbs and downhills with that. Overall, loved this place and wish I could come back again and again.
Had a great time, however the weather was not cooperating in the morning and understandably some of the activities were closed. After the weather passed, we were able to go whitewater rafting but some of the other activities did not open for the rest of the day. The staff was very friendly.
Wish we had more time here. We only had the opportunity to walk through the park. We definitely want to come back and spend a day trying out all the park has to offer. Maybe s couple of days!
Cool facility. It costs $5 to park, free to enter. There are a couple of restaurants on site, but both have fairly limited menus. For $60 you can white water raft, zip line and rock climb all day. The lines for the zip lines are very long when we went (took about an hour) but I think they were understaffed. You can't take your phone on anything so lock it up in a locker ($2 each token) or a bin ($10 all day). I recommend visiting
I went to the US national Whitewater center today for the first time, wanting to do some fly-fishing. So I paid $6 for the parking. Walk the long ways I got to a certain point the lady said is down about a hundred feet to the left it's very obvious I went down there and it was the worst place to fish. US national whitewater Center it would cost very little to make a decent place for people to come there and fish I posted pictures so that you can see.
I love the variety of experiences so folks of all ages can have fun. The only thing I would change is offering trails for runners with no bikes some don't have to worry about being run off the trail.
A great place to work out, whether it's biking, rafting or zip lining. You can also do some bird watching, walk in the nature or just enjoy a beer at the restaurant. This place is the bomb!
A must try if you're in the area and love outdoor adventure activities! Day pass gets you access to whitewater rafting, ziplining, rock climbing and obstacle courses - & it's all worth it. I'm obsessed with this place!
I live near the white water center, so the logical thing for me was to purchase the season pass. If you buy a daily pass you may only be able to do 2-3 activities on a busy day. Parking isn't free, but there is an annual pass for that too.
Very friendly staff. Shout out to Nick , very awesome water rafting guide ! Enjoy your water rafting trip in the Ganges next year. Your awesomeness made it a awesome time for our family brother. Thank you !
Amazing place, so many activities for everyone! Good Food, Great Celebrations, and plenty of space to do whatever you want! Pet Friendly and Family Friendly.
A day pass is worth it... So you would be better off if you plan your day starting early morning... Even though it is 24 hour open, few recreational activities are closed during night...
I really like this place. Everyone is nice and extremely helpful. Plus, there are tons of things to do. Take the kids and get them out moving around. There are several trails, two rock walls, two zip lines, and you can kayak, paddle board or raft. There is only one reason I don't give it a five. . My tax dollars have helped fund this place. Not a fan of tax dollars going to any kind of entertainment, but that isn't the workers fault. They will help you have a good time.
So many outdoor activities to do. We had an amazing time whitewater rafting and kayaking. There were so many things we weren't able to do everything in one day but will definitely come back!
We had so much fun! Staff was so friendly and helpful at every turn. The place was clean and safe. We were also very impressed with the food! This was our first visit so we asked a lot of questions and we always felt like we were given that person's time and received a thorough and comprehensive answer. We witnessed other guests also receiving the same level of care we received. I was especially concerned about the white water rafting as I was just getting over a bad sinus infection. I informed our guide of my concerns and illness and I immediately felt like he cared and would take care of us - which he did! We were able to zip-line multiple times as well as enjoy the other tree courses. I read another review that said they had to walk back to the starting point? Every zip-line/activity we did (and I believe we did them all) dropped us right back where we started. We loved our time here and we will be back!
LONG waits and under staffed. The center itself is fantastic but its outgrown its ability to serve its customers. We could hardly do anything we paid for because of horendous wait times. Waited over an hour for zip line orientation only to find that the actual line to do it was another couple hours. After an hour orientation and another hour waiting in line for the ropes course my daughter gave up because that line wasnt moving at all. Two hours in line without getting to do anything. I've been to crowded parks but ive never experienced anything like this. The staff is friendly but way too few. No one around to give help or directions. I'm glad they're doing well because it is a great place but they need to invest to provide the services they're charging.
Love this place. Everytime I go, the staff is polite and helpful. They definitely prioritize safety within their means, you need to be aware of your own limits as well. There are events and courses for beginners to advance so keep in mind what you want to do and plan ahead for a good time and come prepared! Lines really aren't that long and there are lots of activities to do and enjoy. Also there are plenty of areas if you just wanna lay out and chill. Love seeing the doggies there too!
