I've been many times over the past 3 decades. I've never heard anyone walk away saying they didn't enjoy this museum. Age of first didn't matter. They've built some great exhibits that capture everyone's attention.

Love it. Great museum with a great collection from WW I through present day. Well displayed in four large hangers. Many interactive displays as well. General admission is free, but there are a few things that they charge for like the IMAX theater. Worth the trip and the time. Easy in and out.

Fabulous museum, very interesting and I informative. Takes more than a day to go through. Only negative comment is "dont eat @ cafe". Watchwd a mouse scurry across the dining hall floor as we paid. Comment from cashier "we are trying to address that problem" YIKES

The BEST museum ever. Totally free (I would suggest making a contribution though, as it runs completely on donations). The collection of airplanes and memorabilia is impressive and stunning.

Great trip...had to go back a second day to get it all in and we didn't stop for it all (sigh). Museum is massive! Staff was great! So much to see. A lot of history. A lot of work went into making one of the best flight museums...we enjoyed it immensely!!!

Wow! This may be the world's best aircraft museum. It traces flight from balloons through the Wright brothers through space travel. The galleries are organized by war, with a section in the back for presidential aircraft. Our highlights were the Memphis Belle, Bockskar, and the presidential planes. Best of all, this museum is free. Plan to spend a full day.

This is the largest and most organized aircraft museum I have visited. I really love the cleanliness and dedication to the stories behind the aircraft and the staff and volunteers who have flown some of the planes. It was a very somber experience seeing the plane that dropped the second atomic bomb and many of the stories surrounding WWII but it is done in a very respectful way to educate instead of glorify death. I especially liked ther new hanger with the presidential planes and experimental aircraft. Plan on a very full day with a lot of walking. There are plenty of places to sit and rest as well as restrooms, but there is a great deal of information to take in.

For the admission price (whatever you care to donate) this place can't be beat for aviation history.

The museum has free parking. The museum has about every plane that has been flown. I found the space capsule especially interesting. This museum has so much to see but isnt cramped and is very easy to navigate through. We try to go once a year. Definitely worth the drive and time!

Wow! The size and the scope of the exhibits is amazing! We spent over four hours there and really ended up rushing to get through it all. Lots of historical planes on display. You can tour a handful of presidential jets and you can even stand where Lyndon Johnson took the oath of office after Kennedy was assassinated. But be warned, the inside of those planes are tight because of the protective plexiglass.

There is no admission fee! Be sure to stop at the information desk just inside the door and get a map. Let them explain how to tour the hangers so everything will be in chronological order. It really enhances the effect.

Impressive. Could easily get 5 stars if they included more about Glenn Curtiss - Pioneer in motorized flight. Hometown favorites, Wright brothers get the attention. Other than that, very cool place and impressive collection of mechanical and special purpose equipment. Ingenuity at its finest. Everyone should visit. And it is part of our national park system. Free admission.

I'll admit, I wasn't super excited to visit the air museum - I'm not a history buff, I'm not into airplanes. But my husband wanted to, so what can you do? It really surprised me!! It's huge! It's free!! The displays are so well thought out and informative. There are several that you can walk through or interact with. I don't think you could ever read every plaque, there's so much to see!

A great place to spend the day. The place is massive and cost nothing. The dispays are very well marked with tons of amazing stories. I have been going since i was a kid and i love how its grown over the years. The addition of Air Force One and space shuttle are a couple if my favorites. I love how they have all eras covered and nearly every you look, you see something cool.packed from from to ceiling.

Wonderful place and FREE to visit for everyone. You could do a 2 hour trip or a full day visit here, you will definitely be satisfied with what you saw and learnt. This museum is segregated nicely into 5 / 6 different parts and you could pick and choose what you want to see based on your interest. They are all interconnected, so no exiting building and re-entering which is nice because it was freezing outside when we visited. They have a vast collection from B2, B29, Blackbird, B52 superfortress, B26 , some missiles (yes, MISSILES), a fancy dodge charger modified for the forces and a lot of other fascinating stuff like the Air Force One (I think they had 3 of them). You could walk into Air Force One and see the grandeur. The gift shop is very big and has some nice souvenirs and books too.

Admission is free, parking is free, and there are additional movies and simulators that you can pay extra for. Come on a non-holiday and the crowds are reasonable to light, too. If you bring your camera, have a very fast lens and very high ISO setting (and stabilization) because the lighting is not good for photography. Overall, this is a great place if you have any interest in aviation or war history. Kids under 10 will probably be bored out of their skulls.

A fun day with the family. Look at all kinds of planes from different eras of America's history. Just browse or go deep into the history of each place and era you observe. Great for all ages! Even my little girls loved it.

This was the first time I had ever been to this museum, and I was blown away at the quantity and quality of exhibits. Vintage planes from the early 1900 s, Warbirds from WWII, Korea, Vietnam Nam, and Gulf War. There were retired Air Force One planes from past presidents, fighter jets, bombers, you name
It. They had a missile display, remotely operated drones, etc. admission to this national treasure is FREE! I highly recommend spending a day here if you get a chance.

Visited back in 2006 and absolutely loved it. I still think it came in third behind the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum and the Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola (near where I grew up and visited all the time). I really love the many pre-WW2 and WW2 aircraft they had restored. I also like seeing the planes out on the tarmac, most unrestored at the time. My favorite of those was the Flying Boxcar, which was the perfectly good aircraft my Army Airborne father affectionately recalled most frequently having to jump out of back in the mid-60s.

This was one of the first places we stopped at for my daugters field trip. I wish I had more time to really see it. What we did see was cool, but we didn't get to experience the entire museum due to time restrictions.

There is so much to do and explore there. It consists of 4 hangars combined together that are sectioned off into aviation time periods such as early aviation, World War 1, World War 2, Asian-Pacific theater, Cold War, and Modern Aircraft. There is over 350 planes to see and a movie you can watch. the planes range from the wright flyer to the actual Memphis Bell or even airforce 1. They over food their in a cafe. Outside there are multiple massive aircraft. Great places for field trips and kids vacations. It goes in depth on aviation history. I gurentee you will love it.

Still very enjoyable even with the Covid restrictions.

I am a museum-aholic and this is one of the best in the world: brilliantly laid out and informative. We only had 3 hours and could have spent two days. My friend is a WWII historian and even he gained new insights. Each exhibit had the right amour of information - a very rare quality inn my experience. Best of all, many exhibits were shown in a representative "scene" complete with mannequins dressed in the appropriate clothing for arming the plane, or playing cards waiting for the next air raid alert. Wow!

Best museum I have been in my life, and I visited ...

Best museum I have been in my life, and I visited 20+ countries throughout the world (grew up in France).

I have been at the Air Force Museum 5+ times, spending a full day each time, and sometimes coming back the very next day.
Obviously all the aircrafts are amazing, but the exhibits beside them are what really makes the whole experience awesome. Tons and tons of history, engineering, military, relics are exposed and shown, which really helps understand the particular struggles and victories of each era.

The volunteer staff are mostly retired air force guys, they do know a LOT about everything displayed and not displayed, and can sometimes give you your own tour if you look interested. There is a tour of each section every few hours otherwise.

The food sold at the cafeteria isn't the greatest of all, but that's not really why I go there.

If there was only one museum I could visit ever, that would be the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio. Well worth the travel.
