This recreational centre is registered as non for profit, however, when low income families apply for financial assistance, they are denied any help, even living within the catchment area...I contacted Kristin Gulprit several times but no help (She told me that we are eligible for assistance but when I tried to register my son for a camp, she said i can't because I have to pay the full price and she offered no help. I don't know why they can't help these people since this centre is NOT paying any tax and using some city of Ottawa resources... as a registered non-profit centre, they have to help low income families within community

Dovercourt is a wonderful quirky local recreation centre. It is run semi-independently by a charity whose purpose is running the centre. So the swimming lessions, for example, are distinct from the city of ottawa run ones at other locations. It has a skateboard park, weight room, activity rooms, runs PD day and summer kids programs, drop in swim times, etc. It also has its own mascot.

Fantastic swimming instructors, great amenities, but they do not enforce their no filming or taking pictures in swimming pool policy. Weeks after weeks people are filming the whole class that their children or grandchildren are part off and are left to do so by the staff and management. If this was resolved, they would get 5 out of 5 from me.

Great park, my kids had a blast, swings are great. Out door pool has plenty of shade on the side line's for parents to sit. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is the floors in the women's change room are dirty. I also found the indoor life gaurds are a little cold.

A lovely rec centre with great pool facilities, both an indoor pool and an outdoor wading pool, and an excellent playground. A variety of classes offered. I did babywearing ballet here and it was quite enjoyable.

We've been going here for years for the kids swimming classes. The centre is well taken care of and the new renovations have really improved the space. The teachers are great and keep the experience enjoyable for the kids.

One of the best places to bring toddlers in Ottawa, with lots of programs like swimming, and they have a bunch of summer programs, like dance camp or science camp. They also have great after school programs.

Top notch community centre. Fantastic family-oriented pool. Probably the most well-peogrammed in the city. Really nice playground and park as well. Always buzzing with kids and families from the neighbourhood and beyond.

I was there to see an art show. Hadn't been in decades! Pretty small community centre; but, it is pretty accessible, with lots of seating upstairs. The upstairs entrance has fencing around it that seems to have been there for ages! I hadn't been inside for decades; but, I have passed by in the bus multiple times. I didn't check anything else out.

The Dovercourt Centre does not allow access to the washrooms for people who visit the park that is attached. I was there with my seven year old granddaughter and asked a supervisor to escort us to the washroom and they refused. Very disrespectful and ignorant of the situation at hand. Don't visit this centre.
