Tropicana Casino & Resort Review

Poor quality for the price. Paying for the convenience of location basically. Probably best suited for people who will spend most of their time at the casino or just outside their room.

Well you can t eat inside but there s this ice cream place off the boardwalk entrance and it s delicious. I got the Carmel sundae and it was everything

We've been going to Atlantic City for over 20 years only just discovered this gem of a hotel 2 weeks ago. We always knew it was there, just never went. In any case we were amazed at how amazing it was. From the beautiful Havana Tower room to the breakfast at the Irish Pub the next morning, it couldn't have been more perfect. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and explored for a couple hours until our dinner at Cuba Libre. Get the grill sampler for two after your order of Tropical chips, you can thank me later for that amazing dinner. Tired of gambling for the night but don't want to go to bed? No need, there are plenty of bars and nightclubs right inside the hotel. Lets not forget Wet Wilies! An alcoholic slushie haven? Yes please with a side of grain alcohol in the "Call a Cab" concoction. Needless to say we had an amazing time that night! We had breakfast at the Irish Pub the next morning..best home fries I've had in a long time. We can't wait to go back very soon!

Always enjoy our stay here. Broadwalk activities are centered outside of Tropicana. Shops n Deli and even Room service is delicious. Pool on roof is lovely too if you don t feel like the sand of the beach. Nice people always willing to assist you. It s the best hotel in Atlantic City.

Was not impressed. The hotel was up kept 11 years ago. The staff clearly didn t respect personal property. They do not follow the check out process. Very disappointed, I will not be visiting this hotel.

Well we've been coming to trop for over 20 years .we try to come about every two or three months. We live in North Jersy so we try to stay at least two nights. I always have a good time. My comps are awesome never pay for any meal.I play slot and tables and have done ok.

Did not stay there just had dinner and drinks at Carmines. Also went to one of my favorite watering holes Wet Willie's. Plus played a little Slots. All in all had a good time there. Tons of people which made for a good time. Had a real Vegas feel to it. Would definitely like to go back and stay there.

Two days at the shore. The Tropicana is at the quiet end of the strip. The beach is beautiful and not as crowded. The hotel room are nice . The staff is friendly and professional. There are shows and movies to see. There are great restaurants.

Always a comfortable stay and very accommodating staff. The reservations department is especially helpful. We love the variety of food, bars, and shopping options. The overall ambiance walking the quarter is a nice plus too. The fabulous rewards and fun events/promotions they have for dedicated patrons can't be beat. :-)

Defying the laws of physics, in the middle if the night water and debris exploded out of the bathroom sink and was all over the bathroom and they wouldn t change our room. Another time we were there the smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night and then it malfunctioned and they couldn t turn it off for hours and wouldn t change our room or compensate us in any way other than offering a late check out.

Always have the best time at the Trop. Room spacious and clean. The atmosphere festive, friendly and contagious. Casino has lots of new slots. Roxane, my hostess is very pleasant and professional. Doris, at the front desk, went above and beyond to accommodate us. Great experience. Definitely be back.

This was a sweet quick weekend getaway with my honey. There's ALWAYS something popping here! The casino was fun and clean. TONS of places to eat in the Tropicana - it's like a small city! Bars, shopping too. So close to the beach - we walked out the back door of Hooters (inside the Tropicana) to experience the snow on the beach! Hotel room was decent - nice size, comfortable, clean. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. I'm eager to go back in the warm weather to explore the boardwalk!

What a beautiful facility! Super clean' Carmine's restaurant..... TOP NOTCH! Excellent seafood and the Titanic and New York Cheesecake...... to DIE for! THANKS for the hospitality!

It was okay. Clean....sanitized. getting cooler out, not as packed.

We love this place and spent so many weekends there. Staff is nice. However with new drink service, it is almost impossible to have water or drink.

It has many amenities that are open during this pandemic!!!

Overall Wonderful Experience, We stayed in the South Towers, Everything from check in to check out was really nice, housekeeping took a extra step to sanitize our room while we were out for lunch.
I'll be sure to visit again Soon. Hopefully the clubs will be at full capacity when I return.

Great hotel for all the restaurants shops and other things thats right at ur finger tips. (Wet Willie's, Carmines, Hooter, a bunch for shops to buy clothes and others from, and of course the casino.)

However, they need a better system to get from one tower to the next. I had to check in at one tower, then go park in another tower, then have a longggg walk to another tower take that elevator to the 5th floor, then walk all the way around to the tower that I was in and then take another elevator to 10. By the time I got to the room I only wanted to sleep.

Wonderful Place to Stay. Stayed only one night . I will be back again. Havana Towers are Great. Very Thankful to Mrs. Burke for Scheduling our Reservations. She Wonderful Person and Excellent Customer Service.

It was my first time going and I had a lot of fun. Great night life atmosphere.

We stayed on the 10th floor in the Chelsea Tower and starting from the hallways it smell like smoke and dampness, in the room it smelled terrible, it was very poorly lit, smaller beds than other hotels of 5he same rating. I was very disappointed with the room and the state of the floor overall. Also, I tried several times to reach the front desk for information and I was not able to get through to them and so on that end I have to say that the service was very poor. I will not be staying there again, it was not worth the price that we paid. The only good thing was that we went with family and we had a fun time due to them.

Only gave it a 3 stars because I only came to the Tropicana for some Hooter wings lol. I didn't stay at the hotel. I stayed at another hotel on the boardwalk but hitched a ride from those guys pushing carriages on the boardwalk. Hooter's wings were good.

A nice experience. Plenty of tables and machines. Exquisite restaurants and comfort food.

Great Casino with beautiful interiors. You will always feel like you are inside a night club. Got everything and all was filled with people. Great food options available. Must visit if you are in Atlantic City

A fun place to be. Plenty to do. Reasonable prices. Right on the boardwalk. We always look forward to going back. Its located right in the center of the action.

My bus trip was excellent going to that hotel to casino but when they gave us money back from the bus trip you can cash it out and I don't Gamble so that's my only downfall with that one

When I was there I loved every bit of it it's good to walk around I recommend it highly just walk around go to the stores meet people

I visited Tropicana this weekend, and my stay was horrible. First thing when I walked into the room that the weed scent overpowered me. Then crowd was very rowdy, and I didn't feel comfortable. This was my first and last experience with Tropicana.

We went here for the escape room.both kids loved it. Escape room employees were great

I booked the hotel for Friday to Sunday as I would be traveling to Atlantic City for for a couple of business meeting one of which was remote I requested an early check-in Wednesday the of my arrival and also had the options for early check in among other accommodations checked. In effort to ensure this was communicated in addition to checking the the box for early check-in with the booking agent I called the Tropicana Atlantic City to make sur this was communicated as I needed a private area to video conference. The representative stated that check in is at 4pm if you wish to attempt to check-in early arrive at 2pm and if there is availability they will attempt to accommodate me and charge me an early check-in fee. I've stayed at many Hotels in Atlantic City and else where where requests like this are common for individuals flying in or arriving early all that is needed is notice but not with the Tropicana. I hope this helps someone else moving forward I will continue to stay at the Borgotta, Harrah's or Bally's I only booked the Tropicana because I will be meeting up with friends at their night club Kiss Kiss on Saturday and thought i should just stay at the Tropicana Wrong decision.

Beautiful place! Very big and easy to get lost. Couple of Security guards had no idea how to get where I was going.

Nice Place , but for my taste Tropicana Atlantic City . The cigarette smell I dislike that ! Other than that a nice place .

Was amazing, great place, good food and drinks! Nice shopping centers. In there you have everything you need for a good time.

Do not get a room in the west tower! Very dated. I ve seen much better basic rooms. There s not even a dresser for storage. And you can hear everything happening in the hallways.

Awesome place to go with familia or as a couple. This time we went for our honeymoon. We come home winners.

After the Trump Taj Mahal closedown this became the place to go to. It s lacking entertainment for children and teenagers. Otherwise this is where you want to be when visiting AC.

Horrible staff. I booked for two night and they failed to check me in correctly. When I came the second the woman behind the counter made me wait 20 minutes while she got a manager because she had no idea what she was doing.

Note to the owner not only does Sandra not know her job but Jowaunt doesn t either. Customer service .... maybe train your staff.

There are better places!!

I truly was pleasantly surprised at the hotel.
Bright, clean and staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Restaurant were a bit pricey, including the buffet.
Valet parking....outrageous and overpriced.
Had to use was with a handicapped person....no discount at all.

casino was great, lots of shops and restaurants, located tight off the boardwalk

Hotel manager was rude as hell and the food for room service is terrible and over priced also over charged us for parking the stay in the hotel room was good but that s about it.

Not loving the rooms. I typically go to Harrahs and the Borgata. I found the Trop a step down, especially compared with the Borgata. The ambiance, culture, restaurants and room conditions were a few steps below. I liked the marketplace design, the casino was fine, and the imax is convenient, but all in all a lesser experience.

Nice. A little old looking but the beds are amazing. The room was clean and the venue is huge. The pool area wasn't what i thought. Its much smaller and usually filled with kids. If you have kids the pool is a perfect place

Went for a bachelorette party that was booked pre-coivd and was very disipointed with the way staff and people followed the covid19 guidelines. Ppl were packed into areas like animals some not wearing masks, elevators were so full when we tried to leave we ended up walking down flights of stairs with other ppl like a pack of animals. Very disappointed I went.

Loved the shops and great good. Saw 2 comedy shows. Tickets were very affordable. Decor in walkways was stunning. My favorite hotel.

Great venue for a concert. Small and intimate just like I love it. The hosts and bartenders were friendly. What a great experience. If you haven't been there lately you should see all the new restaurants and sports betting room. Pretty cool. Competition breeds a better customer experience. It was a fun night!

I was a loyal customer to Tropicana. I decided to go there for opening day and had the worst experience. Along with not being able to wash up with brown water Or brush my teeth i had asked the housekeeper for help she said no i asked the front desk manager for some type of help she said there s nothing she can do i even reached out to the GM no response yet. The wait times for the elevator is around an hour because there s not more then 4 people allowed on the elevator. Worst experience i ever had. I have pictures i hope i can post pictures to keep people away. I was told by front desk it s hard times what did i expect!!

A/C kept breaking - not just for us but friends' room on different floor too. Even updated rooms are pretty beat up. Most staff extremely nice except wait staff on casino floor.

Each hotel has its own character, and this was one of the better ones!

Had a pretty tasty pizza from the restaurant on the ground floor too.

Too crowded and tends to lean towards younger people

The hotel was awesome. The fireworks on Saturday were great. If I come back to Atlantic City, the Tropicana will be the place I go too.

Visited this place during Christmas in Atlantic City. The busiest place with a huge options for food. There were many brand outlets as well. The place was very beautifully decorated for Christmas. Had dinner in one of the Chinese restaurants and had a great time there.

One of the casinos that still stand tall and proud. Party of 5 went for a comp'd show and enjoyed it. Gambling area still is well kept and the slot machines are of the newest variety.

We were gifted a two night stay for my boyfriends birthday and it was fantastic! Literally everything we needed or wanted was in the hotel. Playing in the casino was fun and there were a few things we didn't get around to, but the room was fantastic. Nice and clean. Be prepared to bring your own fire stick or roku if you want to watch Netflix or something though. Even with the pandemic we still had fun.

I had a great night at the casino. But what really made my experience outstanding was your lifegaurd Tayler. I got to the pool at 11:30am and did not want my 4 year old step son in the pool since so many kids were being rough. At noon the pool had closed due to a child getting a bloody nose. Tayler explained the chemicals and gave me correct times of how long I would need to wait to get to swim. At 2pm we were able to swim! She is a huge asset to your casino & pool!

It is a nice casino. The one issue that I had was it was very hard to find thing I guess this is intentional to keep you wondering around. Very hard to find the loyalty program desk. Also not as many employees running around to ask questions. The real issue with direction is seen in the pictures attached. Signs going back to bus. Very large sign then next turn almost invisible sign. This should be fixed. I found many of my group wonder around that area looking for. Bus area.

The check in staff were very pleasant. I couldn't communicate with any of the cleaning staff because they didn't understand me. We stayed in a smoking room with no ashtrays. I asked the cleaning lady and she smiled and said okay. We also requested more coffee for the little coffeemaker and never received that either. I had to call the desk to get an ashtray and coffee. Most of the cocktail waitresses were cranky and rude. There were children running on the casino floor. I almost tripped over kids several times. One of the slot machines failed to spit out my voucher and I ended up waiting on them to bring me the voucher for almost an hour. I've been staying at the Tropicana for over 20 years and never had an unpleasant stay until now. I will NEVER come back. Not in Atlantic City and not in Las Vegas.

My daughter had to wake me up at 3. That was because she did not work. They also said you may check out on your TV. I tried several times and it would not work. Not happy with the Tropicana!

Shopping was great, restarants were really good but the smoking 8n the casinos turned me off. I guess I thought more people stopped smoking. It was a shock to see and smell so much smoke. I am from Colorado and it is smoke free. Cripple Creek is a gambling town and again smoke free. When people are blowing in your face, it is just not fun.

I love the view of the window u can see the whole Atlantic City.

Beautiful hotel. Fun casino in a excellent location right on the boardwalk walking distance to several other great hotels. Plus the Tropicana has wonderful restaurants and convention space. I highly recommend staying here or holding your event here.

One beautiful casino with a house full of games and tables. Excellent stores and a variety of top notch dinning options. Great staff and security. Great for a day trip, a evening date, or a few days away from the "rat race." Great entertainment offerings - name preformets.

The machines are good...This is the place to go for whatever your entertainment is...dancing or even Karaoke...and also all types of food

Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Havana tower was close to most everything we wanted to do there, so it was great that we stayed there. Could use more non smoking casino tables
