Tropicana Casino & Resort Review

Always enjoy going to the Trop. Its like being in a town without going outdoors.

I m very very disappointed. Checked in at 6pm left the hotel at 7pm. Rooms are very disgusting. Ac doesn t work. Walls are dirty. Carpet is dirty. My son fell and hit his back with a metal sticking out of the bed. The community around it isn t for kids very loud. My kids had to walk through the casino in order to get to our rooms. If I can give this 0 stars I would.

Awesome casino with the boardwalk right outside and the beach is free. My family and I had a wonderful time!

My Casino host is the best I never met him but he went over and beyond to make my stay enjoyable for my pre vacation Birthday and I had an outstanding time. Eating at the buffet and the Golden Dynasty was great and I always look forward to coming back.

I won more than I lost, the food is great, the games are fun, and the hotel is nice. The elevator did mess up when we first got there, but when you go in with under 500 and leave with almost 600 even after playing more games and eating and buying stuff...you're not gonna remember the elevator being down for half an hour.

Its a very nice place to stay. I feel safe wheb I'm there. The hotel has everything I need near by.

We've been coming here since our honeymoon in 2001. Every year sometimes twice a year. Never had a bad time always very accommodating and super friendly. Room service prices are not bad at all. Food is great

Good place to hang out, eat, play casino and do a lot more stuff. Always my go to place whenever i visit my family in New Jersey. Outlet stores are also pretty nearby so its a plus. Will definitely gonna come back.

Nice casino but what I really love is the location. Tropicana has a beach access right to the boardwalk which makes it awesome in the summer time.

Called and specifically requested an ocean side room and paid extra and was told no problem, we get there and you have to press your face to the window to see the beach off to the side. Room wasnt the cleanest and housekeeping would just walk in without knocking at all times of the day. Other than that the hotel itself had alot to see and do.

I enjoyed our stay but I wish we could bypass the smoke filled casinos. Wonderful rooms, stores and eateries throughout the hotel. Checking in is a long extensive process but in general it's a great place to vacation.

Don t stay at this hotel run!!!! They re running a scam to charge you for your hotel room and $100 incidental fee included in the hotel room charge so that they don t have to return the incidental charge to you and you can t even get it back through your bank because they say the incidental charge is not in their policy. I will never stay at this hotel EVERRRRR again!!!!

Overall the trop is a GREAT facility with amazing access to the beach. So many places to eat, the Quarter is a good mall with an old Havana Theme atmosphere. It is NOT French like another review said (how did you miss that). Anyway, my review will go up to 5 stars when the West Tower is fully renovated. Currently the rooms are clean but very worn and in need of a refresher. The elevators in the West Tower are also extremely worn and seem like a safety hazard. Out of the 4 one would strike almost every door on the way down the shaft. One had a door that slammed every time. Another had a door that scrapped its way shut and the last had a very loud wheel and made a somewhat loud BANG every time it parked at a floor. One employee said that the elevators have been like that for MONTHS. This is how accidents (and scared guest) happen. Bonus: bottle opener built into sink!

Every time I go to AC, I visit the Trop!! They have an amazing section called "The Quarter". Sports bars, high end retail. Providence at night and it's just around the corner is all the gambling you can handle. The Tropicana is awesome!

Wanted to go have fun for a weekend. This place was nice last time we stayed. It may have made a turn for the worse. Rooms were old. Most of hotel was old. Room wasn't ready until around 5pm? Then they want you out asap in the morning. No thanks. Save your money.

I like the thing they are doing now where you can link your rewards card. I was gambling there last week and transferred money from Ceasars card to trop card to buy drinks and snacks. Convenient.

Great hotel. Many restaurants and bars. Several stores for different shopping.
Smoking and non-smoking sections for most table games (if not all). Great nightlife scene. Clean and well-maintained. Nice gym with good equipment, 2 studios and punching bags

This review is strictly about the rooms... staff at check in / out were very friendly.
The rooms were so outdated and not well maintained. I felt like I was in a cheap motel. Paint all over the room was chipped off, windows were dirty and greasy and the bathroom, the walls and tile grout were nasty. Absolutely nothing like the pictures shown in their website. NOT worth it!

Loved it! Different atmosphere but excellent! Great place for a weekend getaway! Rooms have a terrific view! Casino and marketplace are awesome!

We didn't get the room we paid for they down graded up because we ask for a smoking room no discount of refund I filed a claim against them with my credit card they totally took advantage of us the manager should be a shamed of herself i promise this is not over

Some careless customer dropped an iced coffee or something and the staff didnt clean it up resulting in me slipping and smashing my knee up right outside the Havana tower elevator! Took more than 20 minutes for even an ice pack! The concierge gentleman was the one who called for security help and even he was outraged by the lack of timely response. Trip is ruined and I'm just supposed to wait an undefined amount of time to possibly hear back from "risk management". Disappointing to say the least and incredibly surprised by the lack of care from staff!! Hopefully they respond and try to make the situation right because I otherwise enjoyed my stay

I walked the complete boardwalk and everything I want is right here. I didnt need to go any futher!

There needs to be a map for the place. Parking is crazy. Everyone checks out at the same time so there are hundreds of people getting to their cars. Boardwalk is sketchy. But a nice view from a restaurant

The whole city is abit gritty. Trop no different. Staff was great though, so 4 instead of 3 stars.

A casino hotel that transports you to another place. Beautifully decorated with lots to see and do for all ages. Wheelchair accessible from plenty of entrances. The different shops accept cash and cards. Friendly Security is on hand to help you navigate your way. Alot of fun! Enjoy!

An excellent casino and hotel that has been newly renovated. Friendly staff an excellent boardwalk and beach with a beautiful ocean! Well worth the trip!

Beware of hidden fees! Seems like a good deal at first, but they don't tell you up front that you have to pay to use the basic amenities such as the gym and hot tub ($20 per person, not per room). The rooms are dusty and towels full of loose lint. The fiesta buffet offered great service, although the food quality was just OK. It's best to come to this resort on the weekend. Many of the better restaurants don't open until Wednesday night.

I always stay at the Trop when I visit AC. They have awesome shops and restaurants, and I usually have fun in the casino too. I would have given 5 stars, but the last time my husband and I were there, I discovered their drink-ordering system had changed. You directly order from the machine you're playing on. It does not allow you to order until you've gambled a certain amount of money, and you have to wait 10 minutes to order another drink. The first time we ordered one, it took about 10 minutes, and when the machine indicated it had been delivered, it had not. We waited a bit longer before finding a waitress to ask about it. I politely explained what happened, only to be met with a negative attitude about how that "wasn't her section." I said I understood but asked if we could get one (as we were right outside the kitchen area). She stormed off into the kitchen to get us the drink, so she very obviously wasn't happy about doing so. I'd say that was an example of lackluster customer service. Anyway, though that was mildly annoying, they do have a nice drink selection. I think the ordering idea is good in theory, but it seems relatively new and they need to tweak it a bit.

We always stay here when we come to Atlantic City. This time we had requested the North Tower upgrade but got the South Tower upgrade instead because the North Tower was not available. We got a room on the 18th Floor and it was perfect.
Everything was so clean, beautiful shower, comfy pillows and bed and spacious room.
We came to see the Christmas and Holiday decorations and they did not disappoint, they were beautiful and magical!
We always upgrade to a higher floor and the views are beautiful.
They have a coffee maker and fridge in the room.

Tropicana have everything in there. If you go during cold days dont worry, there are different night clubs, restaurants, fast food, clothes store. Everything is in there

This resort was amazing. You don't need to leave the resort for any reason. I took my hubby for a birthday weekend that included seeing the Alice Cooper show. We had an amazing time. We stayed at the Cheslea Resort. The rooms were comfortable. This is the quite side of Tropicana so this was great for us. We ate at Carmine's restaurant for lunch, the food was family sized here so if you are a couple only order entree if you are extremely hungry. They had a great wine list. We had birthday dinner at the Olan. The menu here was exquisite. We sat with an amazing view of the ocean and the fire works was amazing. They also sang Happy Birthday and hubby was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast restaurant in the hotel was amazing and inexpensive. All the staff we met and asked questions to were extremely helpful. We will definitely be going with our daughter next time.

You dont even have to leave to do other activities because they have everything right there.

Great Fistea Buffet! Great selections of every ethnic meals. Wonderful desserts. Friendly helpful staff. Use your Trop card for special pricing, also discounts for seniors!!!!

We stayed in the North Tower in a Room with two queens. This room was absolutely unacceptable. The door to the bathroom was broken and off the hinge and you could not close the door, the lamp above the bed was broken as well. The bathroom floor was flooded, we went to the front desk to ask to be refunded or comped and was given a hard time. They told us they would send maintenance instead or change the room instead of a refund. When maintenance came the problem was coming from the ceiling and the room above us. Michelle a front desk manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. During these Covid 19 times this room was not clean, they just stuck a remote in plastic and said they cleaned . The toilet tissue looked used upon entry as well. We were finally refunded after an additional complaint but if you want impeccable customer service please avoid this place.

This is our favorite getaway spot in AC. We love the shops, the resturaunts, the plush rooms and the decor. We always have a good time win or lose. Really!

Wasn't a bad stay in a very basic room. Can use some updates in the hotel though. 3 star hotel. Per COVID regulations, Be sure to make swimming pool reservation a week or two prior to your stay especially when booking online. For best opportunity call to book pool when you reserve online the same day.

Thought it was a regular hotel but you walk in and see a bunch of restaurants, a mall wing and of course the casino. Not to mention the pool. The room was nice. The best part about it was the bed. Never slept better at a hotel before. If you do get a chance the Irish pub has a great brunch and the cuban restaurant has an excellent chicken dinner.

Rooms are nice, modern, clean and updated. Beds are comfortable, the end tables have lamps that have 2 USB 2.0 ports for cables for each lamp plus power outlets to plug your electronic devices, large LED TV (larger than 42"). The only thing that Tropicana downsized seems to be the drinking glasses, they were replaced by plastic cups.

Other then the bathrooms everything was amazing I loved it.

It was a wonderful weekend, I never ran out of places to see or things to do.

This place has everything you'll need to have a good time out....great restaurants, shopping, casino, comedy club and movie theater to name a few! We had a blast!!

We came for a concert to see Jefferson starship. The casino is nice and clean there is alot to see and walk around.

I went to the Tropicana with my family for the weekend. My kids loved the pool, and they also enjoyed Jingle along with the light show. We had a king sized bed and it was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the keys for our door kept not working. We had to get the locksmith to come up and fix the lock.

I just got back from a 3 day stay. I rented two rooms in the south tower. I have stayed at the Trop numerous times however, it s been awhile. Both rooms wreaked of cigarettes and marijuana. Every elevator I got into wreaked of marijuana and I heard numerous other guests complaining as well. The shower door in one room would slide back open every time you closed it so you had to shower with the door half open. The city has a huge homeless problem with people sleeping on the boardwalk and beach at all times. Very minimal police presence on the boardwalk and the smell of marijuana is prevalent every ten feet. I was accosted and asked for money every time I stepped outside the hotel. Why isn t there an employee there to prevent this? Homeless people enter the casino and asked my children for money. Unacceptable!! I expressed all of this at checkout to a manager who replied I m sorry you had to experience that. That s it. No offer for compensation or anything. The Trop has declined tremendously. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Very clean I came in and wiped down the room because of covid...not even a speck of dust or dirt not even on the window so I know they cleaned...I just didnt like all the walking back to my room have to go thru casinos social areas its just too much there should be a direct route back to the room

Nice casino, just a little dated in decor. Buffet was excellent food wise. But the line for the buffet can be very long and wait times. also long when they first open up. Get on line early before they open or wait about an hour or hour and half after the first group....

It was great to get away but our first was nice. The second night kids running and stomping all night long. To make matters worst, no hot water.

Always a great time..buffet was crazy good and the scenery was amazing! Plenty to do from the Kiss Kiss nightclub to karaoke, pool, movie theater, shopping, comedy club, live entertainment, ofcourse plenty of food and bars...great time whether its a rainy day or sunny outside!

The Chelsea is a great addition to the Tropicana hotel. It has a vintage feel but that's in now. The lobby is wonderfully decorated and has modern accents and flare. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the elevator. It felt rickety.

The casino was a bit dated and a little worn. But the shops at the marketplace were fantastic. You could live there. Little confusing on how to navigate the place.

One of the last casinos in town. It's so deserted all around, but the Tropicana is bustling with people and activity. The hotel rooms are nice too. They keep them updated.

Very, very ecpensive. My husband was having a hard time booking a room for the night on the internet, so he went inside to see if he could book a room with the front desk. The room we were given was set up for Senior citizens, not very welcoming and not comfortable for us, especially for the price. We were given another room, and proceeded to have another thing happen, the tolet overflowed so we called

There is so much to do at the Tropicana. The restaurants serve great food and the slots are fun. I wish the machines were more loose though. I love to hear the sound of winning machines.

Had a little fun, made a little money playing the games. Got lost walking around.

We appreciated the Tropicana s location on the boardwalk, the variety of dining options available, and the vibrancy of the Quarter as an alternative place to find entertainment vs. the casino. The fitness center is stellar (though I wish it were complimentary for hotel guests). Where the Tropicana falls a little short is details in the room. We would have liked real glasses for water and mugs for coffee and tea; the plastic offerings felt cheap and wasteful. And bathrobes in the room would be a welcome touch.

I've been going to Tropicana for 7 years now and I always enjoy. They have great places to eat over 24 restaurants places to enjoy the night life.
Many giveaways and monthly specials. The casino is fun and it gets really moving on Thursdays to Sunday but there's always something to do all week.
