The technician from Total Comfort Mechanical was thorough, punctual, prompt, courteous, but it turned out our difficulty with A/C was our own error, so there was nothing for him to fix. He diagnosed the system as running properly. So we cannot provide a complete evaluation of the service.

Central air was installed quickly, professionally, and no surprises. Would absolutely recommend.

We hired Total Comfort Mechanical to install central air-conditioning in our home, as well as two ductless Mitsubishi units. They did an excellent job with the installation and were very responsive to helping with needed adjustments. They provided us with a competitive price. The system is quiet and very efficient. Each member of TCM was courteous and worked very hard to complete the work in a timely fashion. We highly recommend TCM.

Wendell and his team were the most professional and knowledgeable of the teams we inquired into. For ductwork, they design around potential uses of your space. They came multiple times to perform tests to make sure everything was functioning properly. The quote, although not the cheapest of what we obtained, was in the middle and we felt well worth the quality of service and equipment.

Easier to get an appt then with other companies during the "busy" season. Tech was early for appt (which was great!), and very knowledgeable. Answered all of our questions. We are now staying with this company!

The blower for my forced air went out one night, and was eminating a burning smell. I shut off the system, and started to stress out about how long we d have to go without it before it was fixed. I called Total Comfort the next morning and they came out within an hour, and had all the parts on hand to replace the blower on the spot. Also super nice and very professional.

Had a long chat yesterday and I was assured that Total Comfort Mechanical had the skill and integrity to handle my problem. Having had a bad experience with another company I was concerned that I would get burned again. I finally decided that I could trust Total Comfort Mechanical and waited patiently to hear back. I heard back they said they couldn't take me on. Had they told me yesterday, I would have been fine. finding out today, after all the assurances I am less than impressed. For anyone searching for good service and integrity, look somewhere else.

Total comfort installed our air conditioning last summer. When our boiler stopped heating, they called back on a Sunday within 30 minutes and were wiling to come that day to evaluate it. We arranged the appt for Monday. James came within the 2 hour time frame, had the necessary parts, and we were warm within the hour. Great service , quality work and very professional , responsive service people. We highly recommend Total Comfort.

I was collecting estimates for a new furnace after another company, driven more by sales goals than fixing problems, told me to just get a new system because I obviously had a cracked heat exchanger. Wendell showed up, and after a few simple repairs by his team, I have a smoothly running system again. The techs really know their stuff and want to do a great job. I'm so happy to be able to keep my system running a few more years, and when I do need to upgrade, I know who to call.

The entire team at Total Comfort Mechanical was great to work with and very professional. Wendell was thorough in his review of our property and creative in his suggestions regarding the placement of the units. The quote they provided was reasonable and in line with others we received. After receiving the quote, it did take several tries and a bit longer than we expected to get answers back on some questions we had regarding the job. Once confirmed, the job was scheduled timely. The installation process went well except for one unit being placed on the wrong wall. After expressing our disappointment regarding the mix up, Wendell did do everything he could to make us happy.

Wendell from Total Comfort Mechanical has the technical expertise and customer communication skills that ensure an easy choice of systems followed through by flawless installation. He is backed by a responsive front office and seasoned technicians. My water heater failed. There was a deluge in my basement. Called in on a Sunday night. Their immediate call back guided me through my system shutoff. The next day they showed up to drain the system and prep for installation. Full installation was achieved by the following day. They obviously are very responsive. Best to call in directly for emergencies and not rely on the website.

Total Comfort was incredibly professional, they were quick but very meticulous with the installation. Very happy with their work and will be using them again for replacing other appliances in our home.

Clearly they don t have much standard when it comes to their drivers. One particular driver had no care for the people around them. I was speeding doing 50 in a 35 when one of their vans came flying up behind me almost rear ending me only to cut another vehicle off to get around me. He was easily doing 65+ just to get to the same red light as me. We continued down the same road with him tailgating every vehicle he got behind until they moved or he could cut someone off in the other lane.

Wendell and team did a fantastic job installing our mini split AC and Kumo Cloud. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to do a similar project.

Our family has being hiring for ~4 years Weddell and his company Total Comfort Mechanical for working on HVAC issues at our house in Burlington, MA. I found them online, without any references. We might have been one of their oldest customers; at the time we started dealing with Total Comfort, it was just Wendell. Through the years the company grew, and we have seen at home also Jordan, Pedro and other guys. I have always been happy with the work performed by Total Comfort, with their quick response time, with their reasonable price, with the clean environment they leave after completing their job.
Our family uses Total Comfort for annual maintenance of our heating and AC systems. We have also used them for fixing issues with our heating system changing hot water heater, temperature controller replacement, leaks. Few months ago they installed in our bedroom new Mitsubishi Ductless Air-Conditioning and Heating Unit, very happy with it. What I especially like about this company is that when call or email them, you get back from them quickly, the appointment is done within reasonable time, and they show-up on time; if it is an emergency Wendell shows-up within hours, once I called at 9 PM because my boiler stopped working, Wendell was at home after 30 min and fixed the problem. I am not surprised that Total Comfort is a highly rated company and as a repeatable customer I recommend it too.

We lost heat Friday afternoon. I called many, many HVAC companies offering emergency help. They were booked up, didn't have the parts for the particular furnace we have, happy to come out Monday morning etc. Some never returned calls. The house was getting colder and the weather report warned of a cold weekend, I finally found Total Mechanical Comfort. They sent out a repair person right away. Twenty minutes after the call the repair person arrived. He had the furnace working in about a half hour. The repair representative was courteous, friendly and totally capable. I can't say enough about the company and their representative

Excellent overall experience. Planning prior to starting the job (oil to gas furnace conversion and ac replacement) was thorough and my requests were all accommodated. Crews showed up early every day, stayed late as needed and started the job when they promised. Requests for changes along the way were cheerfully accepted. Total experience exceeded expectations. Price was fair and billed as quoted.

OK, I am a very obsessive customer. I research everything to death and obtain more than the customary 3 estimates for any project. Having said that, I was surprised beyond belief with the estimate, quality of work, professionalism of staff and the final results from this company. A perfect job from beginning to end. No hidden costs, no shortcuts and no delays. Of the 5 estimates I received, Total Comfort beat everyone else in every area as well as creatively hiding the pipe work above the ceiling tiles while all other estimates were to run the line resting on the pipes. Also including poring several inches of concrete to secure the heat pump rather than cover styform with a thin layer of concrete as the base.
Wendell spent hours explaining to me every detail of the project.
The workers arrived the very day they promised (some companies would not commit to a date until they received a deposit), they were clean beyond belief covering the entire floor and stairs with a protective drop cloth.
They were polite, neat, respectful for the property and the residence, and cleaned up the yard and basement better than how they found it. Strangely, the owner, Wendell never cashed the deposit check until he completed the job and will not accept final payment until the work is inspected.
If this is not enough I would be very happy to talk to any hesitant prospective customer. Be careful. There are a lot of companies out there that will do the work, but none come even close to Total Comfort Mechanical.

From start (getting three quotes) to finish, Total Comfort was stellar. Detailed explanations, good value, good communications, prompt and efficient work, were some of the many excellent aspects of their performance.

I called ten places including the guy who installed the furnace in my house and we have a yearly contract for maintenance with when the heater suddenly stopped working yesterday when we tried to install Nest thermostat. No one replied or called me back in time. Total comfort were so professional with their replies and came by noon time of the day I called. James from Total Comfort showed up on time and wasted no time in diagnosing the issue to be a transformer that was short circuited. He happened to have the part and replaced it after clearly explaining the cost of everything. He was amazing and finished all his work so quickly. Everything from scheduling to the work done and billing was so smooth. Highly recommend them from my experience.

Quality Service and friendly staff. My only complaint was they called the day before at 6:30 pm to cancel my original appt the next morning at 8am. Then after rescheduling, they called the night before at 6:30 pm again, left message that if I couldn't keep my new appt to call back. I didn't call back cause I could keep it. Next morning they call back and say they never heard back so they cancelled. Then said it sounded like I "misinterpreted" their voicemail. I said no misinterpretation, a misstatement by them. Any way they came later that day and it worked out. However, when people make arrangements with work to be home, more timely and accurate scheduling and communication would be nice.

We decided that we were ready to install a central AC system in our home. We knew it was going to be a big job. All new duct work was going to need to be installed. We literally got 6 estimates. Not only was Total Comfort Mechanical's price extremely competitive, but the work was also top notch.

Wendell and his crew came in, laid down tarps, hung sheets, booties on the feet, the whole nine yards right from the beginning. His crew came in and worked their butts off. The work in our opinion was of high quality and the workers were very professional.

UPDATE: recently had my ac tune up. Still very happy with my new system (1 year old). I have had no issues & the tune up was flawless. I even had a flaw on the face of my digital thermostat and the tech replaced it at no charge. They even gave me the $40 filter for free because they had to reschedule the service. Great company!!!

This Fall check: very supportive people , sharing what they are doing and the reason why , all checks are accurate, no rush, clean, they give you visibility about future risks. I felt very comfortable!

My experience was mixed: I was able to get a quick service appointment (next day) and the technician came on time and was a nice, polite guy. Charged me $69 for about half an hour of time, seemed reasonable. On the other hand: the service provided left me with the conviction that I should never call this company again:
The reason for the call was that my central AC stopped working (the outside unit worked but the inside unit (the air handler) in the attic stopped blowing air). Explained it to the technician, he went into the attic and spent about 20 mins there checking things out. Came down and said that the blower motor needed replacement (price quoted: $560). I asked him if he was sure and if it could be some other electrical problem. No, he was sure - it was the motor. Since the system was old (12 yrs) he recommended considering replacing the whole thing (price quoted: $6.5-$8K) instead. He took my email and said I will get an exact quote for the system replacement in an email from his boss. I said I'll think about the options and he left. I looked online for the motor: was on Amazon for $160. Looking inside the blower - seemed like half an hour job to replace it (7 screws and 6 cable shoes total, so the company was asking $400 for the labor, I figured). But reading more online led me to believe that the most likely reason given the symptoms was a failed starting capacitor, not the motor. I took a look at the capacitor (as big as a deck of cards, right in front of my eyes when the cover of the air handler is open) - it was visually bulging on the top. I borrowed a tool from a friend and tested it - it showed an open circuit. I bought a new capacitor from Amazon ($12), replaced it myself (took 5 mins: one screw, two cables total) and the system started working with the same old motor in place.
I'm pretty sure the technician checked the capacitor before recommending replacing the motor - he had removed the rubber cap on top of it which led me to believe that he tested it and it's not something one would overlook given the symptoms anyway.
My conclusion of this service call is that either the technician was incompetent or he knew what the problem was but tried to sell me the more expensive repair (which wouldn't have fixed the problem anyway).
As for the quote for replacing the whole system - it's been three weeks since the service visit and I still haven't received it. Not that I will use this company again, but it's curious that after all of the up-selling they didn't even attempt to close the deal.

I had no heat with my gas fired boiler, and my regular HVAC guy told me I needed a computer at a cost of over a $1000!! I decided to call total comfort, it was fixed in 15 minutes For just a small service charge! They will to all my work from now on common and very nice people as well

Wendell and his team installed a muti-zone mini-split Mitsubishi system as my house a few months ago. They were extremely professional, courteous and prompt. I've really enjoyed using the air-conditioning in the summer and look forward to using the heat pump in the winter.

Would definitely have TCM do the remaining two bedrooms in my house when I decide to do so.

They were able to find out the issue of our AC failing rather quickly (motor died) and get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. The price was reasonable and fix seemed easy - AC works well! Paul also explained their yearly maintenance deal which we will definitely look into as the price is extremely reasonable ($255 for yearly maintenance on 1 AC system and 1 heating system).

My air conditioner stopped working suddenly, and after calling several calls to various businesses, I could get Total Comfort Mechanical. The lady who arranged the visit was very nice, and the serviceman was very knowledgeable.

I feel 100% comfortable using them. I asked the person at the office if I could get my heating service looked at (since winter ended) and tune up the A.C. The person on the phone said you will get a discount because you are doing both.. (really!) and I asked him do something that was not his job. He did this. And I insisted to give him a couple of dollars! Use the people they are great!

I just hired Wendell to install the central AC system (American Standard Platinum XM 4 ton, 17 SEER with two-zone control) on my two story house. It was pleasant to working with Wendell's team. They came to my house around 8 am and worked until 6pm everyday. Even the appliance company could not suggest anyone. I took a chance and called after seeing their truck in our neighborhood. The office staff are friendly and they understood our needs.

I m a satisfied repeat customer of Total Comfort Mechanical to service my home central air conditioning system. The technicians arrive on time and take pains to record many technical performance values. Recently their technician came in spite of the threat of rain which could have made measuring Freon pressures at the compressor an outdoor chore of some discomfort. Fortunately, temperature differential measurements at the interior air handling unit demonstrated that the compressor refrigerant levels were adequate for successful cooling performance.

Wendell and TCM designed and installed a complete HVAC (incl duct work, dual zones, gas furnace, steam humidifier) and hot water heater project for us and we could not be happier 2 years later. His system was designed 100% correctly and the crew worked in our house for weeks with the utmost respect and courtesy. Wendell cares a lot about the fine details like me and that's why we worked well together. Our air conditioner was not working at a very busy time for the company, so I made an appointment for 2 weeks in the future. They were great about moving my appointment up to less than a week. The technician was quick to identify the problem and get the system working.

Missed the first appointment and arrived after the second time window. But he did an excellent job and we had heat in about an hour. 5* out of 5. Glad this occurred before the snow flies.
