My granddaughter wound up in the Skyline emergency room this week and the experience was refreshingly outstanding. Ada Perez, Whitney C. and Alex were especially helpful. Thank you do much for your kindness.

Admission was abnormal and very slow.

Admission was abnormal and very slow.
Abnormal in that there was only 2 people behind the admission desk. One seemed to be completely occupied with calling individuals at home who were scheduled for a future date procedure. The other seemed responsible for all on-site people needing the lab, radiology or other out-patient service.
Normally the person at the front desk gets some preliminary information; you wait to be called; you are directed to one of several small offices occupied by several admissions employees, taking more detailed information from several people. They gather information such as the procedure to be done; your PCP's name; and insurance information. They verify you current demographic information, make a copy of your I.D. and insurance cards, print up the doctors orders, financial and legal documents for your signature, and finally place your arm-band I.D. on and direct you to where you should go.
I'm sure we can blame it on COVID, but with only one person going through that entire process with each person that walks through the front door looking for medical service the wait seems interminable,
While I was there, only 4 other people were ahead of me, but I waited nearly an hour before I was able to be processed through for a simple, Doctor ordered, blood draw for testing at the Lab.
It occurs to me that the additional wait time actually increased my potential exposure to COVID.

Now I know why everyone in the healthcare industry calls this hospital Tristar Flatline. The nursing staff, hospital adminstrators, dieticians, palliative care, and hospitalists were all extremely incompetent and unhelpful.

The only positive I can take from our experience is that housekeeping was incredibly thorough and friendly.

If you are serious about your loved ones health improving then take them ten minutes down the road to Vanderbilt. The only reason we came to this hospital was because our oncologist advised doing so. HUGE MISTAKE.

This hospital cares about dollar signs, not vital signs.

I love Dr. Templeton!! He is very thorough and explains what is going on with you. Easy to get an appointment with and just a very nice, all around doctor. Also, gets you in and out in a timely manner. His Nurse and staff are great people also. I would highly recommend this doctor. If he were a Regular Medical Doctor, I would be one of his patients!!

If I could leave zero stars. If anyone at the hospital reads this, please take care of my grandma better. People love her. Shes far away from us and hasn't got to meet her grandchildren yet. Your staff sucks!

Update: grandma shook Jesus's hand. But damn, what poor care she recieved. Particularly the hospital letting students stick elderly patients when consent hasn't been given. Yeah students have to learn, but do it on a consenting pateint. Don't let a practicing student blow out the veins of an 80 year old disable veteran. Sad.

My husband had a stroke and has been here at skyline 45 days. We have been on 4 of the 7 floors. We have met and had some of the most amazing individuals taking excellent care of us!! We cant thank them enough! for each and everyone who came into our room with a smile or took a few extra minutes out of a very busy day just to chat with us we thank you! To the ones we passed in the hall who smiled or had an encouraging word we are so grateful. May God bless each and everyone there.

I walked into the ER at 7:40 AM sat and waited for 45 minutes then they took me back to my room where I waited another hour and a half for someone to even come in there and check on me then the nurse comes in and gives me a shot for pain and doesn t even let me know what she s giving me then on top of that the other nurses are just rude and I mean like get an attitude with you walk out while you re talking to them and not come back for an hour or two then while I was sleeping they world me out into the hallway and kept me for another two hours after telling me there was nothing wrong with me. So therefore I will never be coming back to skyline Medical Center

I hate to complain because the doctors, nurses and staff are extremely helpful and attentive to our loved one s needs but the cleanliness & condition of the critical care waiting area and restrooms are appalling. Our family is here for our second day and the previous litter and trash from yesterday is still here...it shouldn t be that hard to keep it clean.

I rated the facility a three, that s an average between a five for inpatient hospital and a one for the emergency room. I came in septic and freezing with the chills, and a fever of 103.7. The nurse named Brandi was rude to me the entire time, I was left for hours without getting any fever reducing medications, blankets, etc. Whenever I asked for something I got a very passive aggressive response from this nurse, who was also complaining about other patients. After the patient across the hall from me went home, and she had to clean up a mess that she made when she dropped this poor man s dinner on the floor, she was mumbling about having to clean it up and saying I don t get paid enough for this. He was an impoverished person who had no way to get home, and had been saving this chicken for his dinner and clearly was going to go home and have nothing to eat. She showed no compassion whatsoever. She called a patient in another room a real piece of work in my earshot. I can only imagine what she was saying about me. Once I finally got moved upstairs, the experience was completely different. I found all the nursing staff to be very compassionate and professional, as well as the dietary, lab and respiratory staff, everybody was great. In particular, Dr. Donegan was wonderful, very attentive and knew exactly what to do. Medical care was top notch. The only negative with the inpatient was the food was not particularly good but the care was exceptional.

I have had imaging and surgery at this facility and both experiences were extremely positive. Everyone from the registrars to the unit clerks to the nurses to the physicians to the hospital Administration team were friendly, efficient and responsive (a sincere thanks to the surgery registrar who went above and beyond to confirm my insurance authorization so I didn't have to reschedule my procedure). The facility itself is beautiful and state-of-the-art. It was easy to park (self and valet) and find your way. I would highly recommend for any of your surgery needs. The team there is highly skilled and all about quality.

I want to say THANK YOU, My son come in 2 weeks ago due to a really bad car accident. He was admitted and had surgery with no insurance. He was not treated any different from an insured patient and we greatly appreciate that. The Dr's and nurses took very good care of him and were very helpful and informative. A BIG THANK YOU to the nurses on the 5th floor that cared for him.

E.r. was prompt, but during the 7 hr.wait for a room, several people came in just to say they would have a room soon. My husband had a severe reaction to a medicine, causing severe pain and muscle contractions, yet, they insisted on doing an echocardiogram and mri, of course , mri was 10 minutes and they gave up. The bath room was dirty, and never cleaned the 5 days there, long hairs all over floor. Staff was not friendly, would not answer , and seemed to be angry much of the time. Often the computer did not work, causing more confusion. We were tol d many conflicting things and never did get anything resembling a diagnosis.
Very frustrating and stressful situation made worse.

I have been a patient of Dr Scarpero for many years now. Dr Scarpero and his staff have always treated me professional. They have always taken care of me on routine visits as well as when I have been hospitalized at Skyline Medical. Dr Scarpero has always worked with various other specialists to coordinate my medical care. I am very happy with the care Dr Scarpero has provided to me as his patient I strongly recommend him to be your primary care physician.

Been here twice. The first time they literally saved my life. This time they are working on doing the same. I must say the emergency room is exceptional. When I was in the ambulance on the way to Skyline both times the ambulance was communicating with the hospital and the nursing staff and doctors were there to greet me at the door and had medications ready according to what I told the ambulance personnel and my medical records on file with TriStar Hospitals. I love this place if I have to receive medical care

I visited TriStar Skyline for a cut to my hand a couple months ago where I had five sutures administered. I was advised by both the person who administered the sutures and the individual who checked me out (in the presence of my wife) that I could obviously have the sutures removed wherever I chose to, but, if I returned to the Skyline facility, they would remove the sutures free of charge. Though the facility is out of my network, I chose to return to the facility to have the sutures removed, taking them at their word. I have subsequently received a bill for nearly $1,100 and have spent a significant amount of time since receiving this bill, disputing its legitimacy with the facility. I am currently paying them for the administration of the sutures and am not opposed to paying for services rendered, just not when advised there will not be a charge for said services. UPDATE: I am augmenting the one-star review I had previously given to my Tri-Star Skyline experience to account for recent developments pertaining to my experience with this organization. After writing this review, Tri-Star responded to it and provided me the contact information for their patient advocate service who, after I contacted them, promptly took the measures to see that this charge was written off. Though I was pleased with my care at the facility and with the service I received after writing this review, I cannot in good conscience raise the review higher than three stars due to the fact that all of my contact with the facility until writing this review was unproductive and felt to me as wasted effort on my part. I would suggest that Skyline make the patient advocate option aware to individuals seeking to resolve billing issues much earlier in the process.

I could not ask to be at a better hospital. My boyfriend has been taken good care of since he got here on Monday. They found out what was going on really fast and figured out what needed to be done to take care of it. All the nurses and doctors are friendly and take great care of their patients.

This hospital is a nightmare. I waited for two hours and NO ONE, not even those who had been there hours before me, moved at all. Longer waits than Vanderbilt, and at least their quality care is worth the wait.

When I asked lo leave AMA, I was convinced to stay and thrown in a nasty fast track room. There was a mosquito in it. In November. The nurses were inattentive and the PA was dismissive. I will never go back here.

This is the worst hospital you could take a family member too. They dont know how to find patients and told us or family member wasnt there at all. Even though i knew he was. Guy at the entrance for covid checks was disrespectful. Like people have family tjere that are in bad situations and the hospital does nothing to help it. My family member has been sitting for 2 days waiting on a specific doctor. At this rate it just seems like their trying to milk his insurance. They havent let him eat for almost a day and a half now bc they dont know of hes gonna need surgery and wont untill this lomg lost dr apears

Recently in hospital at skyline. Had to stay in critical care unit for two days. I was treated really great. Young male nurse named Jeremy (do not know last name) was on the late shift. This young man was truly a blessing for me. I am a senior, and so greatful that there are still such caring and dedicated young people in the nursing profession. Thank you for the great care.
God Bless you.

DO NOT USE THIS ER OTHER THAN LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY! Unbelievable amount of time to be seen & get help. The wait time posted online is untrue. To make matters worse this ER is used a Dr. office. We came on the advice of our Dr. which feel upon deaf ears to everyone. I watched as one young man that struggled to walk be made to lay in the outer waiting room. What a terrible place this is!!!!

The care I received on 5th floor was excellent. Everyone was kind and helpful.

In the ER registration and triage were great. My nurses were efficient but not so helpful. One of them was Mariah and I think the other one was her shadow or maybe the other way around. They seldom looked me in the eye, popped in once while I was waiting for a room. If I had needed anything there wasn t time to ask for it. Taking me to the room was just a chore they were in a hurry to dump me off.

This may seem harsh but the contrast between their care and all the others was distinct. I was in the OR for a procedure and in X-ray for another. Everyone was great.

One other issue. I was given antibiotics the last day, twice. When I saw Dr. Gaffney and told her, she said she didn t know why and that she did not order them. I would like to know who ordered them.

Thank you.

While visiting from SC, my sister became ill and had to be hospitalized. My husband and I recently moved to this area and were not familiar with any hospitals. We were so pleased with the compassionate and professional care my sister received in the emergency room and then as a patient on the fourth floor at TriStar Skyline. From food services to housekeeping to nursing and doctors--each one treated my sister with respect and took a special interest in her care.

Had to go to the ER in 2011 for excrutiating pain in upper left leg. Wait time was short and all medical personnel were very helpful and positive. It's the closest medical facility to my house, so it was a short trip. I've heard several people complain about this facility, but I have none. The hospital is clean, modern and up-to-date. Great cafeteria, too (see post and pic).

Went in for stitches last weekend.. they stiched me up and sent me home with a drity bloody hand and uncovered stitches. Said they would do an xray but never did. Im also 32 weeks pregnant and almost passed out due to blood loss and they asked if i could get up and walk to the waiting room instead of offering O2 to help with passing out. Nice staff but thats about it. Doesn't seem like they know what they are doing.

This facility is filthy... The care in the ER is horrible. The nurses are hanging out at the nursing station chatting, laughing, having a good old time while at least three of their patient family members stand in the hall waiting for a nurse to assist their love ones. I punched the button for a nurse to assist my mom with unhooking her monitors so she could go to the restroom . After waiting thirty minutes and a no show, I walked up to the nurses station and asked for assistance with my mom. I was told by a nurse who appeared to be very annoyed by me asking for help with my mom they would send her nurse in. Fifteen minutes later, still a no show and the nurses assist light is still on. I walked back to the nurses station and was told they would send her nurse in. Mind you, it s several nurses sitting around chatting, available to assist, but wouldn t. Finally, I unhooked everything myself (monitors going off like sirens), walked my very drowsy mother to the restroom (nurses watching), and not one single nurse attempted to help me with my mother. As we headed back to the room, I saw the nurse who initially checked on my mom. I asked if I should just hook the monitors back up and was told yes and advised she would be in shortly. Really!!! Sadly, an hour later, she was still a no show. I went back to the nursing station and asked about my mom results and was told their was a shift change at 6:00 a.m. and someone would be in shortly. If you have an emergency, I pray you are near a different facility.

I had struggled for more than 2 weeks with, what I perceived, a head cold. It sounds pretty trivial doesn't it? After two weeks of Dayquil & Nyquil with no results, a doctor was essential. I called Dr. Zimmerman's office and luckily was given an early morning appointment cancellation.
The illness was not serious and only required an antibiotic. I began to feel better as I entered Dr. Zimmerman's waiting area. I had not been given medication yet. I wondered why we tend to feed better even before treatment and decided it was due to my confidence in Dr. Zimmerman. He is always thorough in examination and prescribes just the right treatment.

When I got there my head was x-rayed then stitched up. My husband was called then I was being rushed out kept telling me I could go home paid absolutely no attention to me throwing up or the extreme dizziness I was having it wasn't until my husband brought this to their attention that I was given something to help me with the vomiting he told them you're not going to let her leave in that shape she can't even hold her head up or stand without throwing up that I was given something. They didn't know how to handle my condition is how I felt then being rushed out of there whether I was able to stand or whether I could leave or not told me that if you don't have big time money on you or big time insurance on you just don't care!!

Arrived at Skyline around 1am when my 82 yr old mother was transferred from Stonecrest with a brain bleed due to a fall. My 83 yr old father was with me who is partially deaf. The security guard at ER immediately said only one of us could go back, which we expected (same rule at Stonecrest, however, considering the circumstances as me as caregiver for both, they allowed him back). The security guard was adamant that one of us had to leave and that no one would be allowed to sit in waiting room. He expected my father to go wait in the car in the middle of the night! My father wanted me with my mom because he doesn't hear well. After speaking with the trauma team and especially the trauma doctor he made sure my dad was allowed in the waiting room. I understand rules regarding Covid, but no one even asked if anyone had been vaccinated! They could have shown a little more compassion considering the situation.

Tach Mrs. Mae and Tech Haley was two of the sweetest and most caring people I know. I did have one problem but it was resolved as soon as I reported it. I have been to serval different hospital and I would recommend this hospital. The 3 floor employees all day and night shift should get the employee of the month if you have it. Thank you so much 3 floor for taking the best of care of me day in and day out.
