So my wife went into the emergency room this afternoon having difficulty breathing, she waited in the waiting room for nearly 3 hrs and was never seen, she has covid and asthma problems. The emergency room didn't care at all, so I pick her up and drove into the quad cities to take her to emergency room at genesis, they had to put a breathing tube in and now she is in ICU, this is just ridiculous, I thought emergency rooms was supposed to take care of patients. I wouldn't recommend going to muscatine emergency room for anything

Took my mother in to the ER yesterday. Short wait time. Excellent service by registration staff, nursing staff, and physician. Was seen by James Hines, PA. Was probably the nicest and most caring physicians I've ever met! My mother was admitted. Nursing staff were wonderful...especially Shelly! Facility is so nice and clean. Lucky to have such a nice local hospital! It has made many positive changes over the years!

This Hospital is the worst. The nursing staff is rude and heavy handed. I had hip surgery on 10/5/2020 and had to be cared for at this hospital. I was man handled and made to suffer. The nurses were rude and unprofessional to my family. They did not follow any protocols. I had heard about this hospital and its staff having a bad reputation, but my god!! This place needs to be shut down.

I took my husband into the hospital to be examined from a fall a few days ago.
The lady at the registration desk was very warm and friendly.
We were in the waiting room, for perhaps, 5 minutes.
A young woman approached us and took us to a room. She was a nurse and was very thoughtful and did everything that she could to help my husband's comfort and to take car of his needs.
In a short time, a very nice young lady came in, who was a doctor. She thoroughly examined him and gave him something for his pain.
She had a gentleman from x-ray come to help him in radiology and he could not have been kinder.
Our son's family goes to this hospital, as well and we are all impressed with the staff and their treatment and abilities.

Worthless. All around worthless. My wife's grandmother fell coming up the stairs at 8:30 pm tonight. Over 80yrs old. Gashed her hand open very badly, lots of blood. Wife took her to the trash Muscatine ER at 8:45 on a Wednesday night. Receptionist said they were "very busy". At 11 my wife texted me, still hadn't seen a Dr yet. It's now 1:30 in the fricken morning..still not back yet. This poor woman was literally at the ER just yesterday due to heart issues. Do you think they would take this into consideration and not keep her out at this hour? Of course not. I even called to check in as my wife's phone has died. "Cindy"answered, no compassion, no caring in her voice whatsoever. Said she has been triaged and bandaged. But that's it. So if that was done...why not just stitch her up and be done with it. Almost 5 hrs and still sitting here waiting for them to get back. This is just pathetic. I would leave zero stars if possible. Absolutely awful. They could have driven to Iowa City, been cared for and been back by now. This place is worthless! Do yourself a favor, if you're not bleeding out, stay away from these morons....edit. finally back at 2:00 am. Over 5 hours. Absolutely worthless.

Been a good hospital to my kids, overall. However, I had an experience with an ER physician when I took my daughter with fever there one night. He came in once briefly saw her and told me he would order urinalysis for the girl. The nurses came and unsuccessfully tried to get urine via catherization. My daughter, 2yrs, could not permit the nurses to get the urine. I waited for the doctor to come back and at least explain to me what others options were available o(even though I know the approach to a febrile pediatric patient) or just talk to me. But he didn't turn up. After a while, a nurse came and discharged us giving me instructions to give my daughter acetaminophen and do follow up with her doctor after 2days. I could have left home and just done that.

As a doctor, myself, I will talk to the parents even for a minute, and calm them. But this the doctor failed to do......probably never cared if we had concern......or my daughter would have febrile seizure home.

As doctors, we have responsibilities to our patients irrespective of our engagement.

Totally irresponsible staff they do not answer phone calls and do not follow protocol in any way shape or form. They cannot keep doctors and misdiagnose people s condition. Go elsewhere this hospital almost killed my wife

Came in by ambulance for a fall. The x-ray tech didn't seem to care about the pain I was in. Moving my leg back & forth & expecting me to hold a position & the board.
I was diagnosed with a fractured kneecap. The nurse was very rude. Pulling my leg in all directions to put an immobilizer on. She was upset I couldn't get the hang of the crutches. I was in so mych pain & afraid of falling again. She did not not like the fact my transport driver wanted to use a wheelchair. We got to the vehicle, & I had difficulty pulling my leg in. She grabbed it, twisted & threw my leg in.

The ER Dr was kind.she said I would need a walker. This was a Wednesday afternoon. Friday another ER doctor called & said I didn not have 'medical justification' & my insurance wouldn't cover it. He was very rude & told me I would have to wait until Tuesday when the doctor that saw me would be in .He was mad I couldn't go in person & pick up a note. He refused to release any information to the DME store or my home health aide.
