It s a beautiful airport. It s big but I keep getting lost sometimes.. the staff gives u direction and then leaves you, that s probably the only thing I don t like. But I like the food, I always get the same food at the same place hopefully I can try something new.

I flew home in late February 2020 from the UK and my connecting flight was at JFK. I had to walk through a big maze and even go outside in the cold and cross a street to get to my gate, then I had to get into a massive line to go back through security again. If I hadn't cut in line, I would've missed my flight. I will never choose a flight that lands there again.

This airport is so big. Wear your walking shoes. I got stuck here because the covid19 test I had wasnt a PCR test. The TWA hotel really helped me out and despite my fustration the airfrance folks did what they could to help with changing my flight and giving me information on what to do. I am very upset I got stuck here for 4-6 days. Still waiting to fly out, once the proper test results come back negative of course. I wish food was a bit cheaper being 5 month pregnant, flying alone sucks.

This airport is disgusting, I boarded my plane in Seattle, beautiful welcoming airport with statues, things to do, very clean, they really show you that Seattle cares about what you think of their city. I landed in JFK and you really feel like your back in a gross, ugly city, vacations over. It feels like you are in mad Max, or a post apocalyptic world with wires all over, ladders holding up wires, makeshift cloth doors AND THERE IS NO CONSTRUCTING GOING ON! It shows that NYC doesn't care what anyone thinks, just like its people!

JFK airport in New York is probably worst airport ...

JFK airport in New York is probably worst airport in terms of passenger safety.

JFK airport in New York is littered with private cars which are ARE FULLY ILLEGAL and which it seems to be a thriving business. I have been mugged by one of these private car drivers in an intricately well planned way. There are now using touts stationed INSIDE the airport who hail upon innocent passengers coming out of the arrival gates, and they claim to be airport officials and with NO ONE stopping them from doing so. There was simply not a single police officer in the entirety of the arrival lounge or even in the vicinity of the airport at the arrival gates. I at first refused to talk to this gentleman posing as airport authority, then when I was looking around for help he approached me again claiming to be an airport official, and suggested me to take an 'official airport taxi'.

I chose to trust this gentleman given that he was allowed to operate inside the airport in full light of all the passengers and staff alike, and also looking at the 'official' looking attire which was a suit with a neck tie. He led me to one of these private cars, and then when I asked about how much is it going to cost to drop me off to Times Square Central, the driver said 'it's all metered and nothing to worry about...', the famous last words! I had a nice journey to my destination until it came to the drop location, and when the payment was to be made, and then the driver dropped the bomb when he quoted me a horrendous bill of whopping $293 plus optional tips. At first I refused to pay outright expressing my shock, then the driver started to get increasingly more aggressive. Lastly he suggested 'how much do you have...', to which I gave a figure which he didn't like, and then he apparently called his 'cab company' and at the end of his elaborate conversation told me that I MUST PAY the minimum amount of $240 as I had agreed to board the taxi previously.

I must admit I felt that I was out of options at that time and submitted to his demand meekly as it was midnight, and in a completely foreign land to me. I have rewinded and reflected upon the whole incident over and over again with many scenarios and ways that I could have better tackled the situation, but I cannot think of anything else that I could have at that time any differently in the moment when it actually happened.

My grievance will probably go on deaf ears when I say it was probably the WORST airport experience I have ever had in my life, and that I regret to say it happened in New York. I do sincerely feel that NY police is in the lacking, and it definitely can do much a better job by posting at least a few fully armed and dressed police officers in the arrival lounges and the vicinity of arrival terminals to deter such serious and potentially dangerous criminals from even making near let alone inside the airport facilities, and thus preventing first time and most likely unwary passengers like myself from getting ripped off or worse by being prevented from being led to the company of some serious criminals.

The queue to get through arrivals security its a joke. Disorganised, understaffed, and inefficient. I'm not sure how New Yorkers aren't utterly embarrassed by their main airport. I'm embarrassed for them.

Worst airport I traveled to!!! 2 hours and half to go through security check once arrived at US custom and it's not the first time!! Same thing for the outbound. It's 2017, time to think of a more efficient way to control passengers don't you think???

I havw flown a alot. I know we all have bad days. But why does it seem that the staff are the worst, rudest people in the whole terminal. I wanted to ask a question, some bold ,elder black male wemt off on me for wanting to ask him a question. "Your standing on the express lane and your wondering your late....^ he cut me off. All I was going to ask was"im running late and would like to know how long will they wait for you?"
Then a lady took me off the line because of my luggage. I told her Ill fix it next to her but she said she disnt have any damn time to move!!"
It happens a lot when these people are so rude. And if say anything back we get kicked out of the airpor . Horrible airport.

I travel in and out of JFK often and it's always quick and efficient. You can find anything and everything you need in that airport. The workers are always willing to help you find whatever you're looking for and very nice.

The first time I touched American land was getting off the plane here last year, and wow it was such a fantastic experience!

The port of entry was thorough and I was more than happy to go through extra security measures, baggage claim was quick and easy, just had to wait a little bit for my larger suitcase to come through.

Excited to see this airport again soon!

Not a bad airport just slow lines. Don't use any unmarked taxi, try to use Uber instead. I got cheated by a taxi driver who had overcharged me and I was directed to that taxi by an airport employee who volunteered to help me.

Had to wait in line for 3 hours just to check in because of apparent flooding at JFK due to weather conditions on Jan 8th 2017. There was no proper guidance on where to queue for collecting my boarding pass. Infrastructure at the airport needs a huge upgrade. There needs to be more space created at terminals and there need to be more staff helping and guiding customers. There needs to be a waiting hall for passengers before their check in as well

I was taking a Delta flight to Ft. Lauderdale. This is also the International Arrivals building. A very busy terminal. It is a very large terminal. My flight was leaving from gate 46. It was a 20 minute walk from the security area to this gate. I'm glad I was dropped off early. Very well maintained terminal.

I am a regular visitor to JFK and have visited all 7 Terminals.
1) parking at any terminal is costly, and except to pay $8 to $12 per hour.
2) Food is substandard for a major international airport.
My suggestion:
If you are picking up someone from the airport, park your car at the Cell Phone lot for free and wait for the passenger to call you. Then go and pick up.
If you want a good meal at JFK, go to TWA Hotel at Terminal #5 and have a great time there.

Worst airport I've seen. Really bad. Chaotic. Rude staff. Complicated.

1 they have a WiFi that does not work
2 when getting your boarding pass from the only 1 working automatic machine you need to stand in another 1 hours line to get a silly "stamp" on it
3 in general there are lines. You have no personal space and security staff are rude.

Trump's right. Americans have the worst airports in the world. This is ridiculously bad. Planes shouldn't be allowed flying in USA. Afghanistan, Zimbabwe have much better airports for reference.

Very cramped and flights to some other airports only leave once or twice a week, which can be frustrating. I once flew in here recently for a connection from DFW-AMM with a few friends, and we were at Terminal 8. There were not a lot of food options, and most of them were New York native food. There was an Asian fast food you would come up across every now and then, but that was it. Luckily, I had my friends entertain me, or I would have died of boredom as there was nothing to do than sit, wait, and try to use their poor wifi. Although, staff were friendly, and they helped my find my wallet.

The airport is a little difficult to navigate due to the amount of space available for pedestrians. Screen for flights is very blurry can barely see some signs. The place is clean and doesn't smell that's a plus. There is also alot space for parking but the gards won't let nobody stay near the door door too long.

It is one of the largest airport in the world situated in Queens, New York. It so large there are total 8 terminal to switch between terminal's there's a small train which is free of cost. Staff at the airport was so helpful. Immigration takes too much time as there's a lot of people and also it is an busy airport. But overall airport experience was very nice. Airport security is very friendly and helpful, they helped us lot in the process.

Review for Global Entry office only:

Review for Global Entry office only:

Came here on a Saturday for our appointment. We arrived about 15 min before our appointment time. There was a family before us but when we were signing in, I saw their appointment time was much later than ours. Despite them arriving before us, the global entry people kept to the appointment time slots and we were called next. All we had to bring was our confirmation appointment printout and passport. We sat with one of the officers and within 10 minutes, we were done! They take your finger prints and that's it. I would highly recommend this office. Only down side is paid parking. If you can find free parking, that would be most ideal.

Kudos to airport ramp agent Leticia !! She was most helpful over and beyond her work schedule!! Kudos to her!! She needs a raise because she made JFK look good even when there were negative companies serving the airport!!! Leticia helped guide me through the train and subway out of JFK airport since the airporter express such a bad experience with the bus as the company left me stranded after payment was made !!!!
Thank you Leticia and good luck to you in your future with JFK

What a mess. Gone downhill fast, a previously great airport. Lines lines lines for *everything*. Fly to Newark or even consider Providence or Stewart Airport upstate - they may be bus shelters with runways but at least you are not penned with thousands, people jumping queues, and waiting for one X ray machine whilst 300+ TSA staff are all hiding by the staff area high-5ing each other. Horrid airport, worse than Smelhi Delhi.

It's a little bit embarrassing that this is the airport for a major city like NYC! The international airports in lesser cities like Salt Lake City and Dallas manage to be nicer than this one. I wish they would renovate our airport!!

JFK is a big, sprawling airport and offers a generally pleasant experience, which is refreshing for an international airport of its size. Terminals are new, airy, and well maintained. Check-in and TSA can be a bear depending on the time of day, but arriving early alleviates any associated stress. Even customs isn't too bad. Being able to take public transportation is a huge plus, though travelers who are pressed for time may fare better with a cab (though be warned, traffic is the pits). Overall a well run airport. Update: visited the United terminal (Terminal 7) for the first time this week and it is quite shabby. Old, worn, and cramped, it's not the most pleasant experience. The American terminal is far superior.

I've been a Loyal JetBlue customer for the last 12 years because of the pandemic I had to fly America Airlines this is my 3rd and last time flying with them i will not and I strongly recommend anyone considering flying with them reconsider explore your options i never thought someone could mess up on a airline 3 times on 3 different occasions I'd rather give Delta my money before I ever give it to American Airlines again so if your flying try not to fly America Airlines JFK the airport it self is great but the airline sucks

This is absolutely rediculous that an international hub doesnt have redundancy systems for bad weather. The entire airport has been effectively shut down due to their computer communication systems going on the fritz and not having any redundancy in place. I will do my best to never set foot in this airport again.

The John F. Kennedy international airport is one of the best airport in the world. My layover in the airport was with pleasantness. Huge numbers of passengers use this airport and many airlines also use the airport. The infrastructure is superb. There are ample seating chairs at the different gated and the airport is cool with helpful staff.

Place was empty. The guy at KLM was professionally rude. Very impatient. Everything went smoothly. If you are hungry bring your own snack/food because there is no place to buy. Everything is closed.

The airport is cool

The airport is cool
It has a food court on the top level and it is accessible from the departures area.
They have a lot of place to sit over there and variety of food.
What I don't like is that when I come here to accompany somebody who is leaving I would like to see how the person passed the security check, this way If security officer thinks that some things shouldn't be in the carry-on luggage like colone or nail clips I could grab it with me. And these things wouldn't be thrown in the garbage.
But Airport authorities have put a big non transparent wall so you can't see anyone since they are in the line to pass the check.

This is a large international terminal that coveys many passengers a day. In the passenger ticketing side it is crowded with little seating. You must be sure you know what time you are able to check in for your flight. Do this before you go. Even if the Airline''s ticket counter is open they usually will only check a flight in a set time before. This is not an area where you be comfortable sitting for hours. Within the Terminal itself there is more comfort. There are only a few places to eat, but the selection is good. If you found this review helpful please let me know by clicking"like". Thanks!

Better than LaGuardia which isn't saying much but more of a pain than Newark. Don't bother trying to pick someone up in front as the over zealous parking staff will quickly rush you away. Jet Blue is now in the old Pan Am terminal which is nice, but has few food choices and really only a single bar. The access is also pretty bad by road so be prepared for some sitting around and waiting. Definitely use the off site parking for any long term trips.

Dreadful experience for my daughter and her 120 orchestra friends. 4 hours early for a flight. At last call only half of the group were through. Glad they refused to board until everyone was through security! Who are these employees? You are useless!
