Great airport, very well tuned and can handle heavy passenger traffic smoothly. Staff on duty is quite helpful. Arrivals as well as departures are a breeze and very smooth. Wifi is available but will take quite a while to register and by the time u connect, your experience of the airport is done with and you will be on your way out to your destination.Washrooms are clean n well maintained.

My laat time ever flying american i have deleted my app from them and will never fly with them again and let alone all the staff in this airport is rude as heck.. They never want to answer questions and always have a attitude it suck that this is the peoplr they choice to represent their airline i can say i dont think american airline will last long and if i can make that change i would they need new staff new attitude period. The food in this airport is nothing too fancy or to say hey let me eat before i fly. This makes people not want to come to this airport and i wanted to know when i got here why it was so empty on the weekend but this is why every one going to lga and newark not jfk

I have been to terminal 1, 5, and 7 and although I wish there were more food options in 5 and 7, I am very satisfied with JFK. This is the only large airport I have no complaints about. On another note, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to every TSA agent here and across the country who are coming to work, despite the shut down, to make sure my family and every other person gets to their destination safely. Thank You!!!!!

Just like everything in NY. It's a crap hole. Three guys in BLM Shirts and hats tried to steal my luggage. I had to make a loud scene to attract the airport police. Then had to prove to the police that it was my luggage. Police did nothing to the guys trying to steal my luggage. Not a place for civilized humans.

complete cluster****. who in their right mind does monthly maintenance on the primary transportation in the middle of the day taking the whole thing down? *every month* the shuttle buses were so packed and running so badly that people were getting violent. might be one of nyc's primary airports but it's run like some two bit country grass strip out in podunk ny.

It all depends in which terminal you're in. If you happen to depart from a terminal in which many major airlines fly out of, then there's a good amount of things to do in the terminal (Terminals 1, 4, etc.). However, if you're flying out Terminal 8 or an equivalent terminal, then there's literally nothing to do before passport and ticket control. It's okay for one of the world's busiest airports, but it could definitely be better.

JFK Airport is very safe, and there's a lot of Self Chek-in "Machines", what is so good, because you don't have to line up, and it's faster than it. The workers of JFK are so kind, helpful. And also the safeguards are so cool, like the camera in the machine at the exit of JFK.

Spending my whole day at JFK terminal 8 was not what I had in mind. But compliments of American Airlines that is what I did. I had booked a redeye Fligth at 7:30 am to Seattle Washington. I love redeye flights because of low traffic and ease of moving thru security and the airport in general but my flight was delayed until 10 am cause of mechanical problems. Everyone ready to board 9:30 but 10 o'clock comes and flight is delayed again til 11:00. No reason at the time. 11 delayed because no pilot til 12 noon no pilot delayed til One get pilot board and we start on our way only to be called back because Security clearance. When we get back to gate First Officer has to sign off because of time requirements delay to find 1st Officer till they cancel flight at 3. 89 people to rebook and I was too slow to get 5:20 Flight and wind up on 9:20 Seattle flight. Happier I can get out than pissed but AA is off my flying list if I can avoid them.

My ipad was stolen out of my suitcase after having it had checked in at JFK - no damage to the lock, so I guess it must have been done by some of their own staff handling the luggage or by homeland security. They are seriously lacking the supervision of their staff, one of the key elements of a trustworthy airport. They are much better at yelling at the customers at the security check!

I paid 100 for global entry and I had my interview in Chicago international airport and it's useless cause I added my number with delta try to fly from jfk to msp but the TSA said my online boarding pass or passport number is not registered. I have to stand in a long line and remove my belt and shoes .:( .

JFK Terminal 4

JFK Terminal 4
Pros: nicely designed, spacious check-in area, clean, variety of shops/restaurants, Serviced by many Airlines, Plenty of restrooms

Cons: All staff encountered were unfriendly and unhelpful, Long unorganized lines at TSA/Passport control, Lack of seats at gates, Information/Rules vary depending who you speak to causing lots of unnecessary delays.

The Terminal definitely has alot of pontential but has some serious work to do as far Customer Service goes.

Definitely a very busy airport. Chances of you making a flight when arriving 2 hours early are a 50/50 chance [I speak for early morning flights]. Although it seems to be enough time, the mornings tend to be very hectic. The kiosks are limited; out of 3 kiosks-- only 1 or 2 would be on to promote social distance. Then there're 3 attendants working in a section where the lines are about 50 people + waiting on line Traveling post CoVid is very different.

The worst airport I have ever been in my entire life. If john Kennedy was a life he would told them not to name by his name. Once it start snowing heavily the airport will be shutdown for no less than two days to clear out the snow. The airport has a staff with bad attitude, since they are short in number. There are only 5 chick point in terminal 1 (international) which causing for people to go madness not to mention that you might miss your flight. No enough seats for the travelers there is no even a place to set in the floor, bathrooms are dirty and low range of restaurants not to mention that they are over priced and there is no 24 hours restaurants.

I visited many airports, and was expecting much more from JFK than this: rude staff, more occupied in writing texts or talking to each other than being helpful to passengers, absolutely NOTHING before security apart than a 'food court' on terminal 1 with a MC Donalds and a Starbucks as best options. Very unwelcoming, not comfortable, nowhere to charge phones before security. Really poor customer experience for such a big airport.

It was ridiculous about the security check. I had water bottle (the water inside was less than 100ml) with me when I crossed the security check. The checker said I can not take it on the airplane. I understood there was many different rules about the liquid. But all the airport had the choice to drink the water and then gave the bottle back. It only took less than one minute to drink the water. Why I need to wait in line again?????? There was many many many people and I may passed the flight if I wait in line again. And then I need to give up my bottle just because I have no time to wait in line again. What is the problem about your airport? Why the passenger can not drink it and pass directly after drinking?

When in New York City travelling through JFK is inevitable. The airport is well situated and not that difficult to commute to from manhattan. It s easier outside high traffic times but if you re stuck and forced to go during the rush hour peaks it can be more challenging.

The airport for the most part was perfectly clean. Some renovations going on but nothing that got in the way of our daily travel. People and staff were happy and helpful. I enjoyed our layover at this airport and won t be upset if we are forced to return here.

It's been 16 years since I last visited NYC flying into this airport. No change to immigration ques. It took almost three hours to get through this debacle! The lines were full and only three booths open. Next time get in a wheelchair and you'll be through within minutes.

I enjoy airports, as long as I'm not being singled out by TSA for political purposes, so naturally, I pretty much fell in love with JFK the first time I went. That being stated, I really don't have a least favorite airport.

The staff have truly taken great measures to ensure all safety measures and protective steps are in place against COVID-19. It is truly impressive all protective postures, and new equipment installed to ensure the spread of the virus does not continue.

Terminal 7 is like being in an abandoned Kmart. Outdated, staff that could care less about passengers, no dedicated TSA pre-check lines, dirty bathrooms, expensive junk food selections, and chaos at the security check in. The only positive is it's easy to get here by subway.

American occupies one terminal (8) and layout is great! Security lines move fast and there are moving walkways to assist with the distance. Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge are both featured as well, and the public spaces are clean, well maintained and ample shopping and dining.

As foreign is kinda difficult to understand the dynamics of the airport, so let's do this, The airport provides an intern trasnportation train that runs all the terminals, IS FREE, hmm there are some restaurants, shops and cafes to spend some time while you are waiting for your plane.
Bathrooms, do not worry about the bathrooms 'cause they are big enough to enter and go out with all your luggage and they are TOTALLY FREE (Here in Mexico it happens in your dreams...)

Visit on Monday 6 January, 2020. The business lounge was a great experience. Food variety, service, decoration, bar , and balcony all were a good combination for our five hours waiting time. The airport has a great variety of stores and walkways.

First time that the airport wasn't full, I was able to go in straight to an agent and be taken care without a rush. The agent at Delta airline all took their time to help me and my nieces. Thank you.

It's an airport. This is a fairly good one with a few nice things. There is a shake shack and a blue smoke near the Delta Gates. I got the smoke shack. The smoke shack is a good burger but not a Good Burger. Shake shack is not the home of the Good Burger.

This is the grossest airport I have ever been in. The toilets were out of supplies and didn't even have a trash can. Flying into JFK from Europe and connecting to ATL was horrible. Their bus system is very confusing and there was little help. We had to follow small confusing signs and were not sure if we were being bused to the right location. Our plane crew was "late" by more than a few hours and the delta club closes very earlier. I try not to fly in/out of this airport at all costs. I hate that this is the first bit of America that so many people from other countries see.

Flights here often get delayed. I am not sure who is responsible for the time that I lost here.. freaking 3 hours. It's been the regular culture here not to care about and around anyone having no grace.

Very busy place with extraorbitant parking fees and most seats and services removed at least in the Arrival areas. Ideal scenario for picking up someone is to spend as little time as possible here, e.g. wait in a reasonably nice park nearby (Flushing Meadows Corona in Flushing) and pick them up without parking or entering the Terminal. On the other hand, Chinatown in Flushing is extraordinary place and worth a side-trip if you are in the area!

When I got to the front of the airport security queue and showed my passport the first person I met was blunt and told me to take ONE step backwards, because I was waiting too far forward whilst he checked my passport. There were also countless TV screens whilst queuing stating to put liquids in a clear bag and put them in a tray, take off your shoes, etc. So at the front I took out my inhaler and a lip balm and the man rolled his eyes at me and started tutting. He wouldn't explain to me why he was doing this or what to do, so I shoved them back in my bag and sent it through the scanner regardless. The last member of staff who was guiding the queues was probably the rudest of them all, and shouted at my to, "Move into the space!" Again, this was no further than 2 steps from where I was already stood. This blunt and damn right rude attitude really put a dampener on the end of my trip and I think to say these three members of staff were meant to be helpful and keeping customers safe and reassured, they made me feel belittled and angry.

AIR PORT is great. But how to reach there?? All the roads towards the airport is always crowded. Construction work near Jamaica hospital since 15 years - still going on. Start 2 hours early to get your flight.

This airport has changed a lot since I first began traveling out of New York City, and it continues to change. Today is it a sleek, well organized and reasonably smooth running city within the city that can see 30,000 to 50,000 passengers a day.
.
We ended up spending more time at JFK than we had planned due to issues with our aircraft, but the terminal kept us powered-up, safe, comfortable and well-fed. Not sure what more you can ask of an airport.

Every time I come here and wait in TSA, the ushers have no rhyme or reason to how they break up the line. First come, first served, but not here. So inefficient. What a waste of money to pay these people. You could learn a thing or two if you ever shopped at a marshals. One line to rule them all!
