Airport is great, staff needs customer service training. Ive never been to this terminal and was treated like a child instead of given direction.
I give John F. Kennedy International Airport 4 stars. This is a very big Airport and it's well-organized and plenty to do before your flight. The only thing that didn't make me happy was the rude people.
Always nice to come back to JFK. A great airport and easy to get to gates, Even as a transfer airport
You will find better airport infrastructure in most of the so called third world countries
Not the nicest airport. Far from the city, and workers are not friendly either..
Solid airport. It gets very crowded, but the security is usually quite efficient. The restaurant options are also really great, especially in JetBlue Terminal 5.
No TSA precheck at terminal 2 and very little staffing at security so it takes longer than most airports to get through security. This is by design as they are trying to sell you Clear on the way in. They devoted 3 employees to pushing Clear but only one for checking IDs. They don t give advance notice there is no TSA precheck so arrive early.
Beware workers are extremely rude!!! They get bothered when you ask for help and they would even cuss at you. Unbelievable
I encountered delays on all my flights relating to taxi issues, incredibly overpriced food, rude TSA staff, slow baggage claim, and other inconveniences and problems. I will likely avoid this airport in the future if I can.
Good and Clean Airport, lots of improvement in processes and procedures noted
Never really had a problem getting in and out of this airport... Yes it's always going to be busy but they do a good job keeping things moving... Always my pick for a layover!
As to JFK Airport it was obviously and eye opener and attractive, but the dark side is this, if you're dropping someone off, whatever you do do leave side of your vehicle, i had to drive a friend to the terminal for Porto Rico etc i got out help him inside with his luggage, because of his disability as i quickly returned to my car there was a repo-tow had my car up and i explained what was what it was a Friday and he said if I wanted my car it cost $175.00 and i had 5 minutes to decide, i end up paying for it, did the airport or police make it right no,, the tow company are in bed or crooked with the tow company. I was very disappointed
Fast and efficient. Was done with the process to enter the country fast
We made it thru our trip and the happiest is when we left that place. If you can avoid, do that.
Of all the airports in the world that I have vivisted (many), this is by far the most inefficient one. Lines are very long, infrastructure is suboptimal and staff is often not friendly. I don't understand how a country like the USA can organise the largest airport in the most famous city so badly.
Its safe. Everything is marked by the way, floors, seats about distance between people.
Meh I find the airport to be very old and not maintained well, with not many facilities and not the best staff. I think NY deserves a better International airport. Not to mention, the Wi-Fi is the worst, keeps disconnecting every 2 seconds!
Big but you can get around easily and most of the employees seem to care. Much better than I expected.
Air train makes it easy to move around the huge complex quickly. I remember when they had busses and it was hell. ..
If you have the unfortunate experience of having a connecting flight here, make sure you allow yourself at least 3 hours. You ll likely have to leave the airport on a tram to get to a different terminal and then go through security all over again. And the TSA employees are some of the rudest people I have ever met. We traveled from Ireland- went through 2 sets of security plus customs with a duty free bag, zero issues. Then when we get to JFK and have to go through security again because this airport sucks TSA confiscates our duty free bag. Our connecting flight was boarding so we couldn t even check it and the response from TSA was you shouldn t have a duty free bag. Then throws his hands up at us and walks away. Finally we ask a second TSA agent where our gate was because it was boarding and her response was how do you not know where your gate is. I ve never experienced such blatant disrespect from TSA agents in my entire life, and I worked for DHS for 8 years, my husband for 10. If you can avoid this airport, I would at all costs. Not only does the layout suck especially for connecting flights, but you will deal with some of the rudest employees ever.
UNSAFE! An elderly passenger fell and split her forehead - the fall was likely due to a heart issue. 45 minutes later., the only medical care was provided by passengers. Staff were more concerned about the blood on the floor - and eventually the upset crowd! Horrible security checks - people sorted by passport, then lines merged again. No organized traffic flow for lines - different staff directing to different locations and groups randomly shown a shortcut.
Multiple gates. Multiple airlines. A million passengers.
ONE SINGLE SECURITY CHECK LINE.
This place is nice. I would of given it 5 stars if they had pest control. Saw a couple of mice on my way to the terminal.
Out of all the times I went there I never got upset. Terminal 5 is great security check can be fast not to much traffic great seats easy to get to the gates good shops. Definitely rather take this than lga
My experience there was awful. We missed our flight to Italy due to delays at a different airport. ( I am aware this isn't JFk international's fault). We were trying to get rebooked but the staff were not very helpful and just kept telling us to go talk to someone else. It was stressful and not fun. Thankfully we got a hotel and a meal and got to Italy.....A day late.
The school field trip left my daughter with no food and then the overweight obnoxious teacher picked a fight with my child and had her cut from schooling.
Good airport ,took it recently and more then Newark,I mostly take first class on delta ,and the lounge was nice, then I took a transfer in jfk with emirates first class and I liked the food choices in the cafe s.i recommend using it.
Very well organized airport. Staff s friendly and very welcoming. The most important they are informed about airport services and they really try to help ppl. Compare to other big airport that s the best experience I ve had so far.
Probably the best of NYC s three major airports. Somewhat far from the city center though.
Poor management, makes the security check line all year round very long. Causing to miss your flight. Makes you feel Awful and Helpless.
Worst airport experience ever. 2 hour wait at immigration due to chronic understaffing-fewer than half the booths in use. It's not like they don't know how many people to expect.
This is the worse airport ever!!!! Y all need to refund my money back for sitting on a runway all day long waiting to go to Cancun, Mexico on JetBlue. JetBlue need to get better flight attendants because they want to charge us for everything but let us starve on the runway. Never again will I fly out of JFK or JetBlue
I have been thru here many times and have a different experience each time. Some bits are old and dirty, some bits are really nice. Its really in need of a facelift.
It s not bad. JFK is my home base so I fly in and out of here at least a few times each month. I find this airport is fairly easy to navigate. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and services are available in each concourse. I usually find myself at more well known restaurants and cafes when I travel because airport selections and food courts are mediocre at best. As for getting a taxi can be difficult but once you locate the signs and follow them, they are not hard to find. For easier travel, I do recommend taking a different option such as a lyft.
The airport has a shortage of signs. Management should look at the airport from a person's eye that has never been there before!! I had to ask staff working in other departments to help find my way. Must say the Air train is excellent, but still had to walk a long stretch. The only real friendly person I met was a guy doing the wheelchair service, that helped me a lot. I unfortunately did not take his name but 100% to him!!
Large airport but easy to get around and there are lots of assistants to help if needed. Signs are in multiple languages to make the transition from one area to the next easier. You want to arrive will an extra 20 minutes from normal suggested times as the security can get backed up as can the checkins.
I was once stuck for 12 hours throwing up in the airport and none of the employees, security guards, etc even offered any help. I couldn't even receive any medical attention because I couldn't leave.
Now this year we went through customs and went to the connecting flights desk and this older man in a grey suit told us we were in the wrong line while waiting at the Delta baggage transfer. Then sent us to Korean airlines desk??? Then they sent us to air France. Then THEY sent us BACK to Delta to get our boarding pass. The lines are all incredibly long and if we didn't have a long layover, we would've missed the flight from waiting an hour in line. They need to redo this system or have someone giving accurate, helpful guidance.
Good airport with ample facilities though I felt the staff need to be more attentive to the travellers as they are from different parts of world with varied needs and concerns.
A C+ Airport. Sort of a pain to navigate. Cruddy restaurants.
This airport is dreadful! the staff is rude and unhelpful. The customs/TSA lines are long and unorganized . The screening is chaotic with luggage, personal items and electronics going in three different places and mixed with others. Just a terrible place. I will try hard to avoid this unpleasant place going forward.
I liked the place, maybe because it was really fast, but who knows.
It was beautiful and easy access to air train, bus ,taxi etc
Definitely not as good as Newark, but a great place overall. 7 terminals is quite a bit. Living closer to Newark, don't use it as much as Newark, but used it for Air India to Paris and Delhi, and Delta to Orlando.
The gates are the best in the world too!
The security in this airport is the worst in the USA. I travel a lot and the security on arrival can literally take hours due to lack of staff and disorganisation.
Good airport, but gets to be a very long commute coming from NJ or Manhattan. The airport is also very busy, but there are many flights, and it is a good place to come when you have a flight.
The airport was clean but the control has no stuff and every traveller enter must stay at least 45 minutes just for the control
It was great. Check inn was quick and friendly. A little busy at the security but after that there was a great atmosphere
Clean and nice airport. Only downside is there no food for late night flights.
It is difficult being the 2nd largest airport in the U.S., but connections after an international flight to another destination in the States needs to be much simpler. It makes no sense for a person who arrived on an international flight to have to make the line to go through security again instead of a connection via the international transit lounge.
This International Airport is huge but so easy to get to your destination. Employees are very attentive and very helpful. I had an easy time getting located and identified by my car service at my terminal. There's nothing better than to arrive back home safe and sound and this Airport have a very good system for departures and arrivals. Highly recommended.
JetBlue's terminal 5 does not have enough food options for the number of people coming through. Hour long lines for breakfast . It is absolutely freezing in the terminal. A/C on Artic blast. Everyone curled up trying to get warm. What a waste of energy. Delayed in terminal for 6 hours. Women's bathrooms we're disgusting. Saw bathroom attendant a few times but very little cleaning was done
Very big airport. Clean, good for a transit I can suppose.
But I was surprized there were not a lot of food shop, or fast food!
One of busiest airport in US. Very huge and has nice architecture. Everything inside is crazy expensive. Wifi not really good
Far newer and cleaner than LaGuardia, and none of the hassle with construction.
Went to JFK & TWA Hotel to celebrate with family. Our sister and bro-in-law had their final arrival after 35++ years of service at DELTA. They said NY JFK was like a friendly family!
at the terminal 8, no restaurant or places to get food b4 boarding is open. American Airlines doesn't serve food on the flights. a 5hr flight frm JFK TO PHX. American encourages you to bring snacks but there is no place to buy it. smh
wild birds inside, pigeons nibbling food from the floor is commonplace here. extremely Acoustic all around, if you need an hour sleep i wish you good luck. be sure to lock your luggage to your body for it WILL be stolen. racism is surprisingly accepted towards passengers. 7/10 times they will throw your luggage minimum of 4m(13feet). the sense of individuality is rampant among supposedly ''team'' workers(they are often seen arguing among themselves to busy to even do their jobs.
i think i made my point here... avoid if possible
Missing free recreation area. Didn't see kids area. The sound of TVs were louder. For 8 hours, 4 time were changed the gate and departure time.
Lets just say its nicer to arrive than to depart from this airport.
NO covid19 monitoring at airport for arriving night flights!! Unacceptable!!
Its a popular destination for most of the people who visit USA. The airport is well managed and the immigration officer and other airport staffs are so friendly.
Also i would recommend to visit different clothing and gift store there.
It s okay, but it s REALLY busy during spring break. Decent for plane spotting, especially for 777s.
The short term parking fees have increased to unbelievable prices. If you park for 3.5 hours be ready to pay $40 for the parking spot.
Hear me out: The airport itself is fine, but the staff could honestly care less about you. The baggage claim *no joke* smells like someone dumped a garbage can full of garbage on its floors.
Just an usual airport. Taxi hub was really in touch to the airport convenient!
