I had a Tramco lift station flood control system in my home in Chicago installed by Nuzzo Plumbing and I never feared it going out, or having a flood in my basement. It's well engineered with built-in redundency. Now that I am in the suburbs, I am looking into a Tramco pedestal pump over a submersible zoeller or big box brand that gets replaced every 5 years as a precaution. $200-300+ Diy/ big box pump every 5 years adds up, plus the anxiety just isn't worth it.
I've had Tramco pumps in my last 3 houses. They have been the most reliable and lasted! My first house had one and I moved after 20 years. My second house had a Tramco sewage ejector and sump pump in it since 1963 and it's still going! Absolutely I installed a Tramco units in my third house! Any inspector or plumber has commented "wow a Tramco, they are a good product"!
I took a motor from a Tramco ejector pump for repair to this place back on 12/04/2015... was told to call the following day... did call the following day not once or twice or three times.... at least 6 times I called and left voicemails for everyone I could and NOTHING!!! Not a single call back. I thought they may be having their holiday party or something. This morning 12/06/2015 my basement had 2 inches of water... I called the plumber that took the motor out and said to call the Tramco company; called at 7:20am and went to the owner's voicemail. The plumber called the owner directly and had me go down to their company and said he would make arrangements. When I got there they tried to sell me a new motor and even had the quote ready for me $623 !!!... I told them I wanted my motor back and they replied "I don't even know where it is, let me look for it... give me 15min..." After 10min they "found" and tested my motor and guess what???!!!??? Nothing was wrong with it... DO NOT GO THERE! YOU'LL GET RIPPED OFF. Don't bother calling, they may have some issue with the telephones too... absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I can only wonder how they stayed in business for this long. I gotta say though company looks really old and outdated... may be about to go out of business. Stay away from Tramco Pumps Company!
