TOYOTA CARLSBAD Review

The car buying experience was very good. Cesar, the sales consultant, and Traci, the finance manager, were both friendly and knowledgeable. They made the purchase experience very comfortable.

My problem lies in the vehicle itself. I purchased a used 2010 Ford Flex Limited. It is the car I've been looking for for a while now. I thought it was the car of my dreams until I got it home and the oil pressure light came on at idle. I am happy that the purchase included a 30 day/1000 mile warranty on the engine and transmission. I did not think I would be having to actually use it the day after I purchased it.

I will update this review when the work on the vehicle is completed.

It was nice and I got a good deal, but the no pressure, no hype thing is of course BS. There was plenty of pressure and hype. But then of course these people are in the business of selling cars.

We (our family) have bought a number of cars from Toyota Carlsbad and have done so for a very important reason: they treat us like family. Prior to coming to Toyota Carlsbad we had bought other car brands from other dealers and always felt like we were being set up: shuffled through the sales experience like cattle. At Toyota Carlsbad I actually felt like they WANTED our business and that they WANTED us to be a return customer. When I purchase something major like a car I want the people selling it to me to realize that this is a major decision involving a lot of hard-earned money and that is not something I entered into lightly. Not all car dealers understand this; Toyota Carlsbad gets it. Duff and David took us through the process of getting the car and outfitting just as we wanted and did so with absolute professionalism without losing the "friendliness factor". We were not rushed and were constantly asked if there was anything else that could be done. The part of buying a car I hate the most is the financial/loan part; Rick took us through the financials with great care, speed, and honesty and made it a pleasant experience.

On top of everything, our Toyota's have been the most reliable cars we have ever owned. Well-made and engineered with the driver and passengers in mind you cannot go wrong. Getting to buy it from Toyota Carlsbad is a bonus on top of this.

This is my second brand new Prius from Toyota Carlsbad. They all truly treated me like Family and made this some times stressful process as simple as possible. I had an excellent experience at Toyota Carlsbad with the purchase of my new to me (used) Ford Flex! Everybody was extremely friendly and accommodating to my requests and questions as I was making a decision. Sales person didn t acknowledge me at all. He basically only addressed my father who was a co-signer. He made all my paperwork show up with my dad s name even though I m paying for the car. At one point, I was so frustrated that I stopped acknowledging because he wasn t talking to me. I m still figuring out how my car works because he didn t show me anything.

Mandi was great, very personable, funny, and overall very sweet. She made my experience that much better after what I had dealt with.

We had awesome service!!! The sales people were polite and very informative. I did not feel pressured or pushed to get anything i didn't want. I appreciate their straightforwardness.

The coffee machine in the waiting room is great by the way. I took advantage of that.

They are very warm and welcoming, Babalou is awesome, no pressure, no stress and will let you think about it before you make your purchase. He understands that you're spending a lot of money on a new car, he is very patient, and he gave me a lot of advice and financing options which I never experienced in other dealerships. I just got my new truck at the Toyota Carlsbad. I used Mark Lehman as my salesperson. He was great and helpful with all the questions that I had and helped me to get a great deal!

Our salesman Mark Lehman opened up with a warm and sincere greeting and it just got better from there. He listened actively when I described what I was looking for (a PRIUS V) and walked me right to my dream vehicle! There were no antequated, high-pressure sales tactics. Mark simply showed me some of the features and benefits of the vehicle and educated me on some of the specifics of a certified pre owned vehicle. When it came time to ink the deal, we came to a mutual agreement quickly, shook hands and started the paperwork. I couldn't believe how seamless and painless the process was! In a world where customer service often appears to be a dying art, Mark was a breath of fresh air. He is a true gentleman and I will shout from the mountain tops and sing his praises to anybody that will listen! I will be recommending Toyota of Carlsbad and my new friend Mark Lehman to anybody that I encounter who is looking for a CPO vehicle.

The car lot was also immaculate, and much to my relief they had a free Starbucks coffee machine to add a little pep back into my step. In addition, the finance manager Traci Ellinwood was a pleasure to work with. She explained the 3 warrantee options thoroughly and clearly and was very sharp and personable as well.

This was a A+, grand-slam home run experience doing business with Mark Lehman, Traci Ellinwood and Toyota of Carlsbad. I know a loyal fan and a customer for life!

I can't hate the place more then this. Lies is what they speak. They sold a Corolla for 19k to my friend which he bought on cash, and the same they were selling me for 345$ a month emi for 60 months on 0% interest, plus 1k down payment That's like 22k. How is it 0% interest.
I am will not go to this place ever.

I went to the same place second time after being used car section where I was literally chased out.

I have no doubt that this place is run by bad people and is spoiling name of Toyota and Made in Japan.

Emily was an absolute joy to work with. She was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and answered all of our questions. Our experience was great and well worth the drive down from Los Angeles.

I had a Low Engine Oil pressure light come on on my Prius. I took it into the dealership. As always, I was greeted with a smile. Kevin Laird, was super nice and friendly. He explained the service and got me out of there in 90 minutes. Thank you Kevin for your wonderful customer service. Also thanks to Vanessa and the rest of the staff in the Parts/Service Waiting area who made me feel at home.

I'm not one to write reviews but I think great service should be commended. As soon as I got to Toyota Carlsbad lot, I was immediately impressed with the service, professionalism yet light-hearted manner of the people who work here. Notable was Jessica who gave us a free ride to the correct side of the lot. (I parked on the far side of their lot). My Sales Consultant was Mark Lehman and his professionalism as a sales consultant was admirable. Never pressured me into buying anything i didn't want and guided me through the buying process without being too pushy. This is where a lot of people in sales fail tragically, IMO. Same goes for Finance Manager Bob. They all treated me as if I was buying a brand new $50K truck when really I was just purchasing a used truck for half the price.

Omar was GREAT, very informative and helpful. He was considerate of our time and made the vehicle purchasing experience enjoyful. Mandi was AWESOME she explained the benefits and values for each additional product. She used her vivid descriptions to help up choose the right package. As for the loan documents she explained them thoroughly and help us feel comfortable with our loan.

I was in a tragic circumstance that took my car and I needed a replacement. Babak was kind, informed, and compassionate. He went out of his way to see that I got a reliable vehicle for a seriously generous amazing price. It was clear how many hoops he and the management staff at Toyota Carlsbad went through to accommodate me. I won't shop elsewhere else now.

We got given a great quote on a car where the sales men talked to us and we went home to discuss. He texted us an even better quote so we came in to buy the car and to our surprised the car was ready to go. Just purchased a certified 2020 Tundra with 12k Miles on it less than a month ago. At my 15k mile service appoint and Toyota informs me their are signs of rodent damage in the air filter. This is completely unacceptable to purchase a $40k vehicle and be told of this a month into owning the truck. Stick with the Escondido dealership, what a joke

I recently bought a Vehicle from Toyota Carlsbad and I have to say, I'm extremely happy with my decision. At first I was skeptical about purchasing a new car and I had a lot of questions, thankfully I had Jose Sanchez to help me out throughout the whole experience. I was refereed to Jose Sanchez by a friend, and I could not be more happy. He provided exceptional customer service, and he was there to help me from the time I walked in, to the time I left with my brand new Camry. He made a process in which can at times be stressful, into an enjoyable experience. The whole experience from sales, and finance was exceptional, and I'd refer Toyota Carlsbad to anyone out there.

when to buy a new car and spent 20 minutes with mark who was rude pushy and quoted me a msrp price and lowballed my trade in . When i told him i wanted to check to make sure it was a fair deal he became rude and angry. I called escondido toyota and mossy who quoted me over $2000. dollars less for the exact same car. I was amazed a dealership salesman was allowed to treat people this way.

Working with the fleet department on getting my new Tacoma TRD Pro was wonderful. The transaction was very straightforward and nothing was left unanswered. I didn't plan on purchasing anything extra from the dealer for my vehicle but I decided on an upgraded alarm just to show Alex (the fleet manager) some gratitude. Car buying is not something I enjoy, but the experience at Toyota Carlsbad was actually fun! Rich was very patient and provided excellent customer service. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The process took a little longer than expected but it wasn t a big deal considering how easy everything was made for me. I appreciate the help and kindness very much.

My service reminder sticker told me I had to come in for an oil change at a certain mileage and a certain date. I was a little over due on both counts. I called to schedule the oil change. On the day of the scheduled service, my service advisor said that there is nothing to do at this time since I had Syntheic oil. I took time off from work and wasted gas coming to Toyota Carlsbad.

When I scheduled it, someone should have told me that a visit is not necessary. To add insult to injury, I get an email to say that I missed my appointment when, in fact, I did show up and Toyota did not have any required work. I asked for my maintenance required message to be reset. My service advisor told me to google it.

I wasted my time and gas to come to Toyota and I am very disappointed with how this how situation was handled.

Lou is an outstanding salesman. Easy and efficient and kept things moving. Lucky in finance was fantastic and efficient as well. Would highly recommend going here if you want a Toyota. It was my second time buying a car from here and just seemless experience.

Okay experience. The people were quite nice and accommodating to my particular situation, although I wish the dealership would have told me exactly what to bring to complete the purchase when I asked via text prior to coming as I live in Temecula Wine Country and the drive, while not terribly far, isn't around the corner either. All in all, the deal worked out, although again, I wish that they would have told me exactly what they wanted me to bring for if I didn't have online mobile access to a number of the documents needed, I would have to have returned to Temecula to print and gather them and then return to the dealership. Bob Hessinger in finance assisted me as did saleswoman Hillary Adkins. Both were professional and courteous.

This dealership has the best sales and service folks I have ever encountered. No nonsense, great deals, and top drawer customer service. I highly recommend going to them directly for your new vehicle. I'm glad I did for mine! My salesperson Henry Gonzales was great, ask for him! Gus, the General Manager, was also gracious and made me feel like I was a star. The dealership just has customer service down to a science! Ask for Kevin Skinner in the Service Department too. He has been taking care of my entire family's slew of vehicles for years, and he is our go-to-guy.

When we called our call was answered by a salesman called Jose Sanchez. The name of salesman looks very common and easy to remember and it is same as our experience which was extremely frustrating and something that we will remember all life long.

Here goes the story - when called we asked for a specific make, model, options and color. We gave 2nd and 3rd choice of the color as well. We were told that we have everything one in stock and if you come today you will be able to drive home the car. We mentioned that we have an existing quote from Toyota of Poway - we were told that no matter what the price is, we will beat it or at least match it.

We took early time off from work and stopped everything at home to head over.

And look what happens:

1. The person who talked to us is not available, not sure where he is... we were told he is at Used Car Sales and someone's finance is getting worked on... after that we are asked to wait for his buddy in the middle of parking lot unattended... No one comes .. seems like no one wants to attend the customer....

2. After a while the person who greeted us comes back and tells I will take care of you.. but the color you were promised is not in stock.... BUMMMMMER... the justification is ridiculous .... we sold it and we forgot to take it off the inventory... GREAT.. a 22K item gets sold in this dealership and no one wants to maintain the inventory... amazing system.. Toyota should have done an audit here....

Without looking at our emotions... the salesperson frankly says.. you should be happy we have your choice #2 available.... amazing how this dealership honors someone's liking .. the salesperson should have got same experience when he/she is buying the car for himself/herself ...

This is just a start...

We asked for the gentleman who spoke to us, and see what.. no one cares to make us speak to the salesperson. Either they are hiding a person or they are hiding a robot :) ...

3. After we were disappointed, the salesperson helping us disappears for 15 mins and then comes back saying "we have your choice of color in shipment and it is arriving in a week, let's do the numbers and you pay us so, we can block a car for you".

4. When started discussing numbers, the salesperson took the quote from us - wrote it on a paper where got my sign saying if I give you at this price, you will buy it right now.. I signed..

5. The salesperson goes inside saying "I am going to talk to my boss" - comes back and says your quote is a invalid and no such vehicle exists and starts bitching about Toyota of Poway to cover their inabilities to please a customer.

He raises the price by 15% and even doesn't offer invoice price ... saying us "take it or leave" nothing else can be done.

All the hard work, talk in vain - thankfully I did not sign on any of the credit application form as I was really worried what will happen to my information if I tell them to shred the paper..

After spoiling our whole evening we returned home with an extremely horrible experience at Toyota Carlsbad.

Our recommendation is - if you are staying away from this place, don't bother about calling or going this place. Just want to save your time and money.

Salesman needed some training. Didn't know how to sale it keep me engage. They must have lots of sales at this location because he didn't care when I walked out. Didn't get his name because he failed to asked for mine.

This is my second vehicle purchase at Toyota Carlsbad in 2 years and both times my purchase experience and service has been exceptional. I have worked with Alex Ordonez both times. He is nice guy with many years of experience, easy going and no pressure. He really works for you and cares. The finance staff is also easy to work with. I never felt any pressure and it was all about me and my purchase experience. I recommend purchasing your next vehicle here.

Imagine having TWO cars go out, at the same time!! That happened to me, and my guy, last week! But Dave Ramstad, of the Toyota Carlsbad Service Center, came to our rescue again, making things right, so we could be on our way. As always, Dave took great care of us-- explaining everything in detail, finding us discounts, and calling promptly when the cars were ready. I can't say enough about how wonderful he is with customers. You know that he's doing everything he can, to solve your problems. Plus, he's just an all-around nice guy! Dave is a real asset for Toyota Carlsbad. We look forward to seeing him again the next time we bring our cars in for service at Toyota Carlsbad!

Simply the WORST dealership I've ever been too!! Dont go here if you seriously need or want to purchase a vehicle. We got nothing but the run around, from start to finish!! The entire experience was just horrible. We purchased a 2019 toyota prius from Toyota of Temecula, our experience there was fantastic, I'll never ever use Toyota of Carlsbad for even a light bulb!!!
