Nice city centre pub with old fashioned bar good selection of changing cask ales, close to the theater
Stumbled in to this pub randomly. Seemed totally out of place within its context. Had a fantastic time at the pub, friendly staff and a cracking pint of Guinness
Nice banter from locals as we walked in. Barmaid got order wrong twice but overall seemed ok
Love this place.
Very cosy, quiet place.
Old photos on the walls and interesting decor that is reminiscent of Coventry over the past years.
Food is really nice, homemade. Staff are great.
Definitely recommend.
Excellent service friendly staff applying COVID measures correctly but not in a off hand manner.....safe & enjoyable
The burger was barely edible...
The beer was really good though ^_^
A nice and cozy place, bartenders were absolutely awesome, but the waitress was...
All in all, definitely the best place in Coventry to have drink!
One of my favourite boozers, full of character and a good range of quality ales and spirits, super cozy in winter by the fire!!!
Reasonable beer and nice surroundings. It's a bit small, but that does detract from the experience.
Fantastic proper pub, food tasty and resonably priced. One of my favourite places to visit when in town. We had been to Birmingham a few wks ago and popped in for a few drinks on the way home. As always the staff were friendly and professional. Keep up the good work
A great traditional pub with a good selection of tasty, value for money food
Good old fashioned pub, offering good quality food, traditional atmosphere and ales; right in the heart of the city centre.
Choice of real ale ok but not always to my choice, just a personal opinion. But well kept. The food is actually at least one grade up from normal pub grub.
Really nice food &:fresh veg! Excellent!
Can get really crowded in here. Good selection of drinks though
A proper pub with good Beer and traditional surroundings.
Great little city centre pub serving great food and a good selection of real ales.
Top town centre bar. Best Bass in area. Food served in separate room.
Food is really good and reasonably priced. Only downside is that under 18s are not allowed.
Another often forgotten gem of the city. Good selection of ale and friendly service.
Lovely environment, friendly, helpful staff.
Did always smells and looks good but I've never tried it; a vegan main and desert would be great to try.
Food was very nice and the staff were very welcoming. Thank you for the meal and a good time
Always enjoyed the Town Wall, only down side is the clown who fills the jukebox up on Saturday night with old songs, nobody else hears there selections
Lovely friendly place, great food at great prices. Love it,wish it was nearer to me in Burbage.
Great pub Good selection of traditional beers and top food big portions and very tasty
Fab little town centre pub, service lacking but don't be put off
Old school style pub which on the Sunday night I was in was populated by locals who were very friendly & chatty. The pub itself has a wide variety of beers & friendly staff. If in the area it's worth popping in for a drink.
Great old pub, great selection of ales, good atmosphere.
Always friendly and the donkey box is great for a few friends to catch up
Always nice t have a couple of pints after a show at th belgrade very nice. Lovely beer.
been here a few times over the years, one of the older pubs in Coventry with a good range of traditional beers.
Good access and clean interior, toilets good do with a refurbishment though.
This review is for the relief management only and NOT the normal staff or management.Ignorant, hostile and bad mouthed, the sooner this old gentleman is retired the better the pub will be.
Friendly old style pub with nice beer and hot comfort food. Beautiful inside.
Superb Bass and many other real ales and guest beers. Lovely home cooked food but only during part of the day. Great staff. Suitable for people 30+ who enjoy traditional bonhomie. Not a trendy bar for the younger generation although they would always be welcome to experience what the rest of us like. Too small to accommodate young children I'm afraid.
This is a pub we went into to pass time before seeing Jorga Smith at the Central Library (she was very good). What a gem! Charming, old fashioned and friendly and great pub grub, nothing fancy just good food. Highly recommended.
What can I say, my favourite pub in Coventry, a proper pub, managers so friendly, locals are salt of the earth, everyone made to feel like one of the family and traditional beers on tap and good hearty food
Old Worldy Pub with a good list of guest craft ales. Pub food is excellent
I used to go there all the time with my ex who worked in the Belgrade Theatre. People are different and interior is different but I have happy memories of the place. The food was nice and hospitality friendly. Yes thanks.
Very friendly and friendly little pub offering good beers and ciders
Nice pub, good beer choice, good screens for football. Great for multitasking!
Iconic City Centre pub with excellent real ales and good quality food
This has to be one of the best places. Real ales, real food, and a real fire. Just right for those relaxing times. Plenty of regulars and a fair few visitors for the theatre nearby. No kids though which is not a bad idea in my opinion. Not the cheapest place but then, you gets what you pays....
Lovely Food and Beers. Pity Food Only Served Till 7pm
Fabulous pub, located next door to the Belhtade theatre. Great atmosphere and good choice of beers. Often frequented by actors post show. Once used by the great Sir Ian Mckellen!
Excellent meal good value. Beef roast dinner excellent.
Great quirky little place, Great beer, friendly staff and atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
Great atmosphere spoilt by incredible poor toilet facilities. Had to leave in order to use a decent toilet, their loss of revenue due to this
Fabulous fresh food served in great old world pub surroundings. Best fish and chips in Coventry
Great place to have a pint or two. Friendly atmosphere
Lovely quaint little pub with great beer choices at a great price. Fantastic location also. I tucked away little gem.
Walking past the NCP Car park nearby, I asked a stranger if there were any pubs nearby. They recommended this one.
Seriously not a bad shout.
Although they had sold out of most of the menu disappointingly, what was left to choose from wasn t that bad! Big portions.
Drinks and food were fairly priced.
Seating in bar wasn t too comfy but other than that it was good!
Cajun chicken came in an actual shopping basket which was pretty amusing!
