(This is an original account as I go to this school.) This school used to actually be good until the new principal decided to take over in 5th grade. Since then, people have been pulling the fire alarm. ALL THE TIME. We keep going out and then the next thing we know we hold out our hands. We had to miss 5th period because of this once. A WHOLE PERIOD FILLED WITH BOREDOM AND FEDERAL PROCEEDINGS. There are CRIMES at this school. The 7th grade math teacher is going nuts because of a class which drives her crazy every day and makes her go to school while she is sick. This is sad. Moreover, the teachers don't care. They don't care if one person is behind, they just let their grades fail. This is SO sad. These days the teachers are like "good luck and good riddance" in a nice way. THERE IS ALSO AN OBNOXIOUS AMOUNT OF BULLING IN THIS SCHOOL, BEWARE. ANY WORD YOU SAY COULD BE THE REASON PEOPLE DECIDE TO BULLY YOU. SOME PEOPLE EVEN TRY TO MAKE INNOCENT PEOPLE SEARCH UP PORN (and succeed). EVEN THE TEACHERS ROAST STUDENTS NOW. TOO MANY ROASTS AND MEAN STUFF GOING AROUND. Please listen as this is true. The teachers are now worse and the good teachers have all left.

I think NEST+m is honestly, overall, a great school to attend. As a 13-Year student beginning from founding year of 2001, an experience only a small group of students have had, I think I know whether or not it is a good school.
As a child of a disabililty, my needs were exceedingly met at an early age, fostering the so called "advanced education," NEST provides. I would say it was the result of NEST Staff that allowed me to become extremely confident and dedicated to my education.

NEST actively fosters initiatives like new clubs and events, most of which are having students lead the way, from sports, educational and general clubs. In my experience, it has to be one of the most crucial qualities about the school. Personally, NEST has been very generous to the clubs I am part of and we totalled over $2000+ of funding in necessary pursuit of student and science education. Granted, I wish the administration could be more encouraging of student pursuits as I had to really push for what I wanted, but nontheless I do have full support and the magic DOES happen.
NEST consistantly puts out intelligent and confident students whom are, in no doubt, ready to take on the world. I think any child will find their place and if not already, become more comfortable with who they are and their goals in life while at NEST.

Well as a student, this place has its negatives and positives. Positives are, its clean its nice, and also, the soccer teams are the best this season, 2017 yet! And also some teachers have a good sense of humor you know? And also, some teachers can ACTUALLY teach well! But the negatives, are horrible young teachers, who don't even teach well, staff are rude and mean, and it feels like jail there. Besides ELA and Math and Social Studies, because it actually has a good sense of schoolwork and teaching! Overall, this school is AMAZING!

An outstanding school. After being here for six years, it is safe to say that it is a very safe and welcoming community. It is a gifted and talented school. It is in a very convenient area with stores that sell things such as pizza and an ice cream truck close by. The teachers are great, nice, and helpful. There are many safety drills practiced every now and then, and based on by experience, no bullying. It is a great community where everyone is included, not excluded. It offers after school, clubs, and fun. The only down side is the school lunch, but, what can I say-it s free. NEST+m is an amazing school that I would highly reccommend.

To attend, there is an entrance examination. The school has a very nice atmosphere. The students seem excited to be there and there are students of many different cultures attending. If commuting by car/bus, you need to leave a rather large cushion of time as the traffic in the AM is hectic as there are other schools in the vicinity and between the school buses, parents dropping off their kids, construction, accidents, and other unforeseeable things you may need to content with. There is a library adjacent to the school, and a park that is also close by. The faculty is professional, and the leadership in the school is great. Finally, there is an amazing for-profit After school program which provides top notch activities for the kids if you choose to enroll them.

When I went here the principal, Celenia Chevere ran a dictatorship where students and teachers would cower and shake at the sound of her heels clicking slowly, menacingly down the hallway. I've heard it's changed

This is the first year that our daughter is at nest m, last year, we decided bypassing the bigger high schools for nest. Great teachers, small teacher, student ratio. My daughter is somewhat shy, the teachers has been able to open her up, and has made many new friends. Bottom line, going to a larger highschool can get your child lost in the shuffle, there is a strong possibility that your child will never know their graduating class not at nest. If your child is heading to 9th grade, definitely have them attend the summer program, they can get some courses out of the way, can accustomed to the travel route, and make some friends. Expect about 3-4 hours of homework per day.

I've been reading the postings and I'm shocked to hear this school has transformed from a place of doom, to something positive. I often like to survey the terrain of my life and see if changes occurred in old places. I attended this school when it was called, J.H.S 22- Straubenmuller. My grade advisor's advice at that time said to me ; " Why do you like art? Don't you like to fix cars? All the boys like to fix cars? So I had placement to attend a Vocational H.S. So, I now can see, this perspective, to send children to a "Work Camp" to experience all their lives, has ended. It took me years to undue this severely, defective perspective. At the age of 33, I was fortunate enough to receive a Stipend Scholarship to attend NYU Medical Center. A perspective from a Puerto Rican descendant: You can delay a "Mind" from fully developing, but you can't stop a "Mind" from fully realizing it's potential.

This school has gotten worse over the years. They keep kicking out all the good teachers or the good teachers leave and replacing them with young teachers who don't really know what they are doing. I had 4 different chemistry teachers in one year, so I as one could expect I didn't learn much. There are maybe 2-3 good teachers left in the high school.

I used to be a student here but I left because the teachers teach the class as a whole and they will not stop and help one person if they do not get the topic. They will just move on leaving you to get a bad grade. The teachers don't care about the students.

I went to nest+m and it is a great school. The environment, teachers and staff are very friendly. the teacher is always there whenever you need help after school. It is a great school to try out for because it is a gifted and talented school.

NEST+m is a great school. This is my seventh and last year here (as I am leaving), and I am very sad to be going. Since kindergarten, the teachers have supported me with great care as I learn and grow. My experience has been great here. The educators are experienced and qualified, the staff is kind, the custodians keep most things clean--and all the students have a symbiotic relationship. People benefit from each other here, one influencing the other in good ways, and this is because of the quality of NEST. This school has been my second home since September 2011, and I have flourished ever since. I have found friends and people who help me be the best person I can be. I have learned about animals, transportation, communities, geography, the Pilgrims, Westward Expansion, ancient civilizations; from adding and subtracting to fractions and decimals to ratios and percents; how to work a microscope and how to navigate the periodic table (actually, that was the Periodic Table Song on youtube by ASAPscience, but my science class introduced me to that); how to incorporate similes and metaphors, to think while I write, to analyze reading; and numerous other skills. Sure, the quality has declined in recent years with the arrival of a new leader, but that does not change my rating. NEST+m has made an impact on my life, and my years there are already imprinted on my heart.

I go to this school (my real name isn t Hannah Abbot) and it is good. The teachers are overall nice. Staff is nice too, especially with connections. I think people that say that this school is bad are going over the top, even if the experience can be unenjoyable for some.

as a student at the school, it is safe to say that this is a school where you learn very quickly. i'm taking Spanish and i have learned so much in so little time. the school itself is not very clean though.
