Michelle Benson is the name of the woman our condo community designated us to communicate with regarding parking permits. She and Total Property Management have been an absolute nightmare to deal with.
Between unreturned emails, miscommunication with the condo community's towing service, and various unclear instructions, we have been unable to resolve a parking permit issue for weeks upon weeks.
Michelle Benson and Total Property Management are the epitomy of the reason why HOAs and Property Management companies get such a bad reputation with homeowners. They treat their customers like second-rate citizens and have been nothing but unhelpful and uncommunicative.
My blood boils when I think that our hard-earned HOA dues go to this company and pay this person to provide our community with such terrible service.
Current resident at one of their managed properties. When you need answers from them they will suddenly start ducking your calls and sending you to voicemail and call you "aggressive" for trying to get a hold of them to get questions answered. Thanks for nothing Jerri.
This is an inept and completely unethical company! Beware! If you hire them you will regret it and they will bankrupt your hoa and not care one bit! They do all kinds of things that are against California state laws regarding hoa s. And quite frankly due to their refusal to provide copies of the financials/expenditures when they are requested leads me to believe they are hiding something. I fear that money is being stolen from our hoa!
I am suprised to read negative reviews about TPM. I personally find them very helpful and professional. Their customer service is friendly, helpful and receptive to our asks and constructive suggestions. The only remark I need to make is that the payment link is not working at this time and I am not able to make my payment which I hope they will correct timely w/o any penalty to the owners.

I'm a veteran and just tried to purchase a condo in Santa Ana in a community called the Tennessean. The HOA representative from TPM denied the VA on grounds that TPM does not wish to do business with the Veterans Affairs. The VA loan I was getting has nothing to do with the condo I was trying to purchase or TPM it's simply a benefit I earned. This was complete discrimination towards veterans by Total Property Management. If you're a veteran or anybody with values do not do business with this company.
I received a parking permit for the community I live in and about 2 weeks after I have the permit on my windshield, I was towed. On a Saturday night. I call Patrol One and I apparently have the wrong sticker. I call and leave a message with the mgmt company. The will not do a release so I do not have to pay the $290, I have to email them my receipt and hope the Board will approve my reimbursement. I plan to go to the Board meeting and complain.
I was considering buying a property managed by this company. I decided to call and ask them a few questions to see how the interaction went. They rudely refused to speak to me. Wouldn't even let me finish asking a question before the rude lady started talking over me. I don't know what place I will buy but I will make sure whatever place I do is not managed by this company that is FOR SURE
I highly encourage everyone to file formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and any other entity that will seriously look into the unethical business practices of Total Property Management. I'm tired of how Bill Scales' office and this company makes you jump through hoops and treats the home owners as if we are all financially irresponsible. I'm fed up with Total PM, and just filed a complaint with the BBB.
