Tortilla Press Cantina Review

I don't know if it is my timing or not but the last two times i have been here it has been dissapointing. Don't get me wrong, this place at one point was great. The food is very good but the bartenders are very unatentive. We got our drinks and our menus, then waited 15 mins before anyone asked us if we would like to order. I had to stand the menus up to get their attention. We were only 2 of 4 people sitting at the bar. The bartender was always in front of us but always had their back turned. Everyone else got chips and salsa except us so we had to ask. Maybe it's my face? At least that's what it has felt like my last 2 visits.

Tortilla Press offers the freshest unique dishes to satisfy any appetite. We try to get there as often as possible. The staff is beyond excellent. Cheerful, attentive and a pleasure to talk to. Highly recommend !

Food... Eh. Probably not coming back on Thursday either as it was karaoke night at the bar.

I ordered take out for dinner over the phone. Employee knew nothing about the menu and told me so. When he read back the order he said 2 beef chimichangas.....whatever those are . I went to pick up 25 minutes later as per his instructions. The guy I spoke to in the phone was at the front host station. He looked through a bunch of orders but couldn t find mine, while simultaneously saying your order should be done . Then he found my order, never sent to the kitchen. I didn t want to be the fool who sits there for another 25 minutes. I do have some pride in myself, so my only option was to politely cancel the order, to which he responded sorry I m quitting tonight anyway . Nice.
Now my quest for dinner is starting over.

We have enjoyed Taco Tuesday at Tortilla Press every week for the past few years, until recently. The past few weeks, we walked out of the bar due to the terrible smell. Not a one-time event...the place smells like a sewer. Will not be back until they remove the filthy flooring and fix the broken sanitary pipe.

This has quickly become the favorite Mexican restaurant for my girlfriend and I and we go weekly. The atmosphere is great, the food is amazing, and the prices are totally reasonable.

Definitely will go again. Food was fantastic. Not may places have music either. It was nice

We needed food for our kids AP Spanish class celebration -ordered fajitas for 10 people. Superb meal!!! The faijita meats were unbelieavabley good, and the portions of sales (green & fruit), rice and beans and all the dressings, was fantasitc. Wouldn't;t hesitate to use Tortiall Press again for an event like this! Thank you so much!!

This place is trashy. I understand it's the pandemic and everyone wants to he home. I called the lady said they close at 9. I get there are 7:50 and she say they closing. I'm not sure if it was the close of my skin, when she saw me and my family. Why would you tell me at 7:30, they close at 9 and when I get there at 7:50 you tell me you about to close. If it was the color of my skin. I pray for ya'll.

It s funny how someone called chef answers the reviews. Clearly the have no clue how to make food with flavor. All of their food is plain and simple.

We love getting a selection of appetizers and maybe dessert here. We've had entrees, but can't stay away from the calamari or queso. Food comes quickly. We're never rushed there, but you could have a quick meal if you wanted.

Really enjoyed the menu selection and the food was awesome. There are several non-meat options, which is great for vegan and vegetarian folks. The only issue we had was the door was opened for a period of time and flies joined us for dinner. Otherwise, everything was great.

The first couple of times we really liked this place. I took my parents and my moms food had plastic wrap in it (like inside of the burrito). My husband and I gave it another shot though. The table had flies all over the wall and window little fruit flies and big ones. We were one of two couples in the place so they could ve sat us anywhere also. It was gross and we haven t been back. Two stars because the margaritas are pretty good.

Having not had Mexican food for quite awhile and reading all of the stellar reviews here on Google, I was really looking forward to trying Tortilla Press Cantina for dinner. My girlfriend and I left extremely disappointed. The good: Modelo Negra on tap, the coconut flan dessert (exceptional), the red salsa and the service. Our waiter was excellent. The bad: tried three different margaritas. The tequila came through so overwhelmingly that it was hard to distinguish one margarita selection from another. We especially found the three different versions of water glass/tumblers each were served in, interesting. The food - bland. No taste, no spice. I had the classic burrito with shrimp. The shrimp were fresh, but the dish otherwise had nothing going for it. My girlfriend had the chipotle shrimp tacos. Again, no taste. Loaded the tacos up with the salsa from the chips and that at least provided some flavor. I've had better Mexican from the frozen food section of the supermarket. Will not be back. One star. Would have been zero but for the really excellent service and the coconut flan.

I found a hair in my salad dressing last night while attending the fund raiser for Perkins Center for the Arts. My server offered to bring me something else (which I declined) and asked my name. I expected at least an apology from the manager. I heard nothing.

Very good service very good food, I'll be going back soon.

The food was excellent and the service was just as good. The live music was the perfect ambiance - you could here and enjoy it but it wasn't loud so it didn't interrupt our conversation. If I could give 6 stars I would.

This is our "go to" place for wings and chicken tacos. We can always grab seating in the bar area, and the bartenders AJ, Shawn and Tyrell are awesome!

Best fajitas around. You also get three condiments and chips. It includes guacamole at no charge. Much better than Don Pablo's. No comparison. You won't be disappointed.

This spot never fails to deliver. They serve fantastic food for reasonable prices, there are no long waits even when the place is full.

Ordered two tacos. The were delicious. So I ordered two more.

We absolutely love it here and have made it our new happy hour spot! The $2 tacos are delicious and you must try the honey Cholula wings (1/2 off on Wednesdays!). Oh and the sangria... yum! I have never had anything here that I didn't like. And then come back on the weekends for their brunch - my favorite part is the tortilla chips they put on the tables and the creamy dipping sauce, it is to die for! You won't be disappointed.

AMAZING AMAZING FOOD!!!!!! The presentation of the food was beautiful! The flavors came alive in my mouth, the freshest ingredients ever! The steak tacos are great and meat tender!! My husband had the chicken fajitas and he cleaned the plate. He said the chicken was very tender and excellent!!! This is a must to bring family and friends!! Enjoy! Reesa was the absolute best waitress, very attentive!!

Another enjoyable dinner at Tortilla Press Ca tina. There were 5 of us. We had 18 tacos and one rib dinner. Yum.

Love this place! Great food and they give you a ton of it. We love going on Saturday night when they have the gentleman singing. Drinks are on point too!

We went the same night as Roy & had a completely different experience! Our children were entertained by the hostess, our drinks were perfect, fresh lime juice in the margaritas beats any chain restaurants with their fake mixes. Apps were a hit, try the mussels if you get a chance! (They were on the dinner special menus). Our server was prompt, polite, efficient & knew the menu. Even the Chef/owner came to our table!!

This place isn't a taco truck, but a great family restaurant with a lively bar & great staff! Our first time there and we have found our new, locally owned Mexican cuisine restaurant!

Such a fun place to go. The parking is onsite. The bar area is small but oh boy, can they make delicious drinks!! They've won awards for their margaritas. The food is really tasty. The best Mexican in this area! I've been to several of their featured drag show brunches, lots of fun! Just a nice spot to relax and have a good meal.

If I wasn't already married I might propose to the fire grilled shrimp and bacon quesadilla. the honey-Cholula wings are also a favorite. And the burritos are in danger of violating the "never eat anything bigger than your head" rule - they're easily two meals!

The server was attentive but also gave us time. Great happy hour specials too

Second time here and the service, food, and drinks are so bomb. You won't be disappointed. I came around happy hour on both of my visits and I was served by the kind sir that bartends and serves I wish I would have known his name but he has dreds (sry that's the only way I can describe him) but he's the sweetest and service was all positive vibes. I will forever be a paying customer to this establishment because of him and the cook too the food is excellent .

The drinks are strong, the brisket and shrimp tacos were everything.

This was the second time we had been there. The first time was perfect. Food was great both times. Only reason they are getting 4 stars is they forgot the appetizer we had ordered and one of the orders was wrong.

Food was very good....we have been here before and returned for the food. If you are a wine enthusiast, this would not be your destination. Atmosphere is nice, lite entertainment that goes along with the Mexican atmosphere. Would suggest that they look over the dining furniture,table was a bit wobbly. Highly recommend,we had good service.

Ordered through Express Grub. Food was hot, fresh and delicious!

I think it's ok for Americans but if they want to try really Mexican food they don't go to that place

The nacho chips and salsa were very good starts. We had a pitcher of house margaritas and they were good also. My husband had the chilie relleno and he said they were very good. I had a burrito and it was good, but I was disappointed that there wasn't more queso.

Food was very good. Waitress was not.... she spoke too fast and was constantly missing. At one point my husband got up to get another drink at the bar as it was apparent the waitress was not going to get it done. The waitress and a server brought out his meal and went back to the kitchen with it only to tell us later that something was missing (what was the secret?). She never checked on whether or not the meal was good. Never delivered the requested hand wipes. We ate and left. No dessert. No great tip as I typically provide.

Food was great, my strawberry margaritas were really good and the staff was really nice. It was also kind of the chef to come out and great us. Sorry that our group of 14 was loud.

I've eaten from here twice, once to go and once in-house. I really enjoy the burritos here and the food is going to be more than most people can eat in one sitting. I enjoyed sitting here and grabbing a beer while eating before going to Pinsetters.

Tortilla Press Cantina never disappoints. Even on a busy Saturday night, we had a great experience. Wonderful service and delicious food at a reasonable price.

Never a bad meal at the Tortilla Press Cantina. They also have the best margarita I've ever had. They also make dining with food allergies a breeze! I have celiacs and have never had an issue eating there as the staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Always a great meal. Even with only takeout now. Dinners are packed up very well and always delicious always. Over the last year I've probably ordered just about everything on menu with no disappoints.

I wanted Taco Bell but I couldn't get it from Door Dash so I picked this place instead. I was absolutely surprised!! There Tacos are way way better than Taco Bell. I will be getting my Tacos from here from now on

First off this place is what the kids call "fabulous!" I ate here a week or so ago and oh my god in heaven the food was ah-MAZE-ing!! I had my usual fish tacos and my
friend Eduardo had some sort of crazy burrito thing with corn in it. Holy smokes!! But the real treat of the night was our server Kristin. That girl is the bees-knees!! She knew her stuff, her suggestions were on point and she's just got this personality that makes the whole experience a memorable one! Good job tortilla press!! Good job kristin!! Time to go party! Adios amigos!

Excellent place to have fun, the food was really good and a great service. All the personal was really nice and always om top of everything.

Food was ok, service was not good. We were I. A party of about 20 & they served a couple of people then disappeared, came back with a couple more. We did not really get to eat together.

Quesadilla heaven! We ordered 4 different ones to share. My taste buds went crazy. my favorite was the shrimp n bacon one. The waitress was very attentive and friendly.

It was fabulous. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the chipolte mashed potatoes and plantains were perfect sides.

Food and service were great. The music being played in the bar area (hard rock/ metal) was a bit much but overall great experience.

The food was wonderful. Great Specials, new ideas, using fresh local produce. Prepared with care. Our meal was excellent, we are already plan our next September visit. Can't wait to get my taste-buds into that Blueberry Empanada. YUMMY

I know it is hard to do but save room for dessert. The churros and cinnamon ice cream are incredible!

Stopped by for Happy Hour yesterday. Good prices for tacos and margaritas. Tacos were excellent and had a cheese steak empanada which is a new one for me. Wish they had traditional empanadas. Margaritas were Ok, on my 2nd one it seemed as though the lime juice they used was going sour and bitter.

Service was good when we arrived but trying to leave was another story. I understand there was a party going on but I felt there was no attention at the bar area. There was plenty of servers for the party (6 or 7). I'll recommend to friends and come back again.
