Tortilla Press Cantina Review

As it is rated 4, I thought the food tastes great but no it tastes okay . Though the service is good, rating is not 4.

The good news is that the food was delicious,however the service and pace of the meal we're abysmal.We waited 20 minutes for water,we waited 25 minutes for our salads,only to have our entrees arrive 3 minutes later.Dishes were not removed from the table and had to flag down the waitress to get the check.In there defense it was Valentine's day and it was busy ,but our waitress was a total amateur.The food was so good that despite the service I will go back just not on a weekend night.By the way the cocktails are very good.

Maybe I would give it a higher rating if after 20 minutes of waiting and the table behind us ( that came in after us ) getting there drinks and order taken we could have gotten some service . After letting one employee know we didn't get helped yet we waited around a couple minutes more and nothing . Sad part is it wasn't busy .

Incredible food, great happy hour food and drink specials. Warm and friendly service. First time there tonight and I'm looking forward to coming back.

Food was good but very expensive for the quality and volume of food received.

UPDATE: Let me say that the owner of this place is a class act. After my review he reached out to me, apologized, and asked that I give it a second chance some time later. Let me say that he heard what I had to say. Everything was excellent. I visited late but prior to closing. Every thing was great. And was informed of the changes made to rectify the issues I experienced. I recommended this place before because of the food. Now I can recommend because of the bar personnel as well. They are there to please.

Let me start by saying the food is good but the service from one of the bartenders is terrible. Here's my example. The closing time listed on-line is 10pm. I walk in through THE BAR DOOR to an VERY unwelcoming "THE KITCHENS CLOSED!!" yelled at me at 9pm. Feeling total unwelcome and as if I'm being told to leave I press on to the bar (where I see others seated and drinking). If I want food I would have gone through the restaurant door. The proper way to address me is to welcome me (and my money) by saying something like 'Hello, would to like a drink?' and then if I ask for food AT THE BAR inform me that the kitchen is closed. This woman comes off 100 % rude. Hence why I give two stars because I want someone there to address this POOR welcoming. I realize you want to go home early. So did I when I left work that day. But I stayed because that was my job. I didn't try to kick people out and hour early by being rude in the welcoming.

The Cantina at the Tortilla Press is one of my family's favorites that we enjoy going to weekly. The ingredients always taste fresh and food is delicious. We love to snack on the complimentary chips and salsa/beans before our meal and the wait staff is friendly and food is served promptly. I highly recommend eating at the Tortilla Press!

My and I were disappointed with how unsanitary it was. Awful smell, and lots of bugs on the walls, and around our table. Unfortunately we pulled the plug after ordering drinks when my wife s drink had a big in it.

I was dissatisfied with my experience because apparently they do not post accurate menus for the customer. Also, the server was mediocre and didn't seem to like us. We went on "Thursty Thursday" and had to sit on the restaurant side and it was downhill from there.

The mango margarita, sangria, and shrimp tacos were delicious in spite of everyone's attitude.

Place is great to have some wings and a burrito. I tend to always order the brandito. Trust me, it's delicious and a ton of food.

Tortilla Press Cantina is one of my "go to" places for great food, great atmosphere and great prices! I'm never disappointed and the guacamole is some of the very best around!

Taco Tuesday has great taco special. The only thing I would like to see improved is the size of the basket of chips. Even though they are endless, with a party of 4, they go pretty quick.

Always fresh! Always fun! Tortilla Press Cantina has the tastiest food in town. Great service at every meal. Love that they offer vegan and gluten free options to satisfy even the most discerning palate. We love to visit when we want not-so-ordinary mexican fare.

My sister and i had decided to try it out for lunch. Worst. idea. EVER! We both thought the food was absolutely AWFUL. Taco Bell makes more authentic mexican food than this place. Rice tasted like out of a packet, beans from straight out of a can. Flavor fell short all over the place, and to top it off we both got sick from the food. So far two days of awful stomach cramps for bland over-priced food. I liked our waitress, but that was all.

Fabulous!! 3rd time here in 2 weeks!! First 2 times had the crab and guacamole quesadilla. Oh my goodness! Today had the. Chicken and guacamole wrap an it was beyond delicious ! For dessert the bananas wrapped in a burrito with ice cream it's for 2. A MUST their guacamole and fresh baked chips for 2. A Must Eat Here!! 10+

Soery to say it didn't measure up to the expextation. The wings were good, the mexican.pizza not so much. It was too sweet.

Wife and I went to dinner on a Friday evening. We both enjoyed our meals. The Chorizo Shrimp, rice and seasonal veggies was excellent. Chips and salsa are free at each table, which is nice. Dessert.... Cinnamon and sugar tortilla chips with vanilla ice cream, blueberries and syrup was outstanding! Definitely going again!!

Food is good, but service was only ok. Our server seemed super annoyed that we were there; she slammed down our glasses, silverware, etc..., She was pleasant when she gave us the bill at the end, though.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service, fun live music on Saturday night.

I tried Tortilla Press for the first time on a Taco Tuesday, and it was very busy! We were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait, but we were seated in less than 15. The decor is casual but nice, and service was good despite the busy hour.

We started with complimentary chips and salsa (3 varieties) as well as sweet plantains, which were very good. Also, some margaritas which did not skimp on the tequila! We each had 3 tacos, all were very flavorful, especially the shrimp taco. There was a mixup about my order which was quickly resolved, and I got a complimentary fish taco out of the deal.

Overall, it was a lovely experience and I will definitely be going back!

Love the pulled pork mini sandwiches! Awesome cocktails especially the margaritas and sangria. Can get a little busy...go on taco Tuesday!

We try to go to Tortilla Press at least a couple times a month. Food is fresh and delicious and there are many options to choose from if you're watching your calories or just trying to eat healthy. Would recommend Tortilla Press to anyone :)

Never disappointed! Meatless mondays and their margaritas are amazing

We are in the bar area for a quick bite. We ordered the food and it came within 5 min. We were amazed at the efficiency and friendliness of the waiter. Food was delicious. I would definitely go there again. You need to try their nachos! Awesome!

Kids love it. Food is always good and reasonably priced always have some type of special. Margaritas and Sangria are good. Ribs and tacos are both really good there.

Went here with a big group of people who had mostly been there before. My first time and I will say the service was good and waitress was very friendly. Food was very good as well. Will be back for sure.

We go to this restaurant on a regular basis. Today some of the food was a little off. We told the waitress just so they knew and she immediately took it off the tab. We always enjoy out time at the Tortilla Press. Great atmosphere!

Tortilla Press is hands down our favorite local restaurant- the food, the service (the BAR!). Try the guacamole (best around) then enjoy a great affordable dinner ( and perhaps a few drinks ;-) We seriously LOVE THIS PLACE!!

Absolutely solid Mexican fare, especially for the east coast. It's clear they care about what they do. Thirsty Thursdays are a value if you like to drink, though they do seem to go light on the hard stuff if you're getting Sangria or margaritas. Their coffee and chili braised ribs were a surprise and are recommended.

Take a look at the more recent reviews. This place is really close to where I live so I've gone here often.

Lately, there are a ton of flies inside and it doesn't smell very good inside.

They hired a kid that cursed while he was seating us. When it was really busy one time a staff member looked at us and said "you want to sit at the bar? They serve the same s*** over there." I think he was new as the waitress also looked mortified and pulled him aside after.

Often when it's very busy they are short staffed. I watched a really nice gentleman serving the entire bar area and making the drinks and he was sweating. We waited over a half hour for the check after we finished eating.

When I came here in the past it had great food, service, live music and it was clean. They seem to have let standards fall and I think staff look a bit frustrated by it also.

There is another tortilla press in Collingwood that serves this menu (it's BYOB there) and it's very clean.

Really great food! Love the included salsa and bean trio! Sorry we ate it all before I snapped a pic...but you get the gist.

The peanut chipotle bbq pork was delicious! Not enough sauce though, I had to ask for extra. I could have put that sauce on anything lol The sweet potato fries were perfectly sweet and seasoned. Our waitress was good and the margarita pitchers were tasty.

Staff was very attentive and very clean.interior is very festive loved the look. Food was great not over cooked and not under cooked. Meat fell right of the bone...we are going back there again

I am a big fan of Mexican food. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting. The coconut flan was an absolutely delicious dessert. The atmosphere and servers were helpful and pleasant. Will return soon.

Went with co-workers who wanted Mexican food for lunch. Very good food and service. My partner cannot eat this food due to too many food allergies. Enjoyed my lunch wrap.

Out of town on business, wanted something light, had the mini duck tacos, unfreaking believable, AMAZING! Don't miss out on this place!

The staff is great! They are warm , welcoming and attentive!! The food is quite nicely prepared and presented! This is one of our favorite "go-to" spots!! I definitely recommend!

We had the empanadas to start goat cheese and steak. Both were awesome. I had the shrimp and scallops burrito and it was fantastic. Wife had the shrimp seasonal special and it was very good also.

They had blueberry nachos for dessert and they were phenomenal.

You really can't beat the happy hour at Tortilla Press Cantina. My friends and I enjoyed $2 tacos (beef, chicken, or pork- choice of hard or soft shell) and $3.50 Coronas. There were a ton more options on the happy hour menu, not to mention the full menu that's reasonably priced as well. I've had multiple items from the menu from the complimentary chips and dip, guac, cheese steak empanada, quesadillas, allll the tacos, and pork sliders. Everything has been delicious and they've always accommodated any special requests.

I love this place. Food is amazing, staff is great,the restaurant itself is beautiful, and they have constant specials! Definitely a must try if you like quality Mexican food.

The best Mexican food in the area, and very friendly, prompt and attentive service. Also the outdoor seating is pleasant.

Happy hour approved. Mexican beer options, shrimp tacos and loaded nachos with soy chorizo was my meal of choice.

As a former long time Arizona resident this Mexican food is excellent. And many gluten free options.
