You can't go wrong here. One of the best, and largest, zoos in the world! If you are coming for the day be prepared for a LOT of walking as it is absolutely massive. Bring water, and comfortable shoes...But it is worth it :)
I love that it is open year-round, and winter visits tend to be some of the best as many of the animals are super active.
This is a great place to visit on a rainy day as there are lots of pavilions so you can stay indoors visiting many of the animals.
They have recently added fun activities like zip-lining through the forest, so you can get your adventure-on in between seeing the rhinoceros and gorillas.

I must have dropped 5lbs pushing kids up and down the hills at the zoo and I would not have it any other way .This place is large but there is always something to see, either animals or a nice big shady tree to sit under. My kids loved it and saw all kinds of cool animals and not to mention the splash park to. If you want to treat your kids and get a little exercise to stay in shape to chase them......this might be a good fit for you.At the end we had tired kids and tired parents but it s all worth it.

A really great idea for a drive through Zoo safari, and well organized. We really enjoyed this wonderfully unique experience. We didn t see an abundance of animals or I would have rated this a full five for experience. Well done Toronto Zoo organizers, and a great way to support our Zoo environment, and a creative and safe outing during Covid 19.

Terra lumina show (night times) is a good get away from the bustling city. It showcases the importance of climate change and how it impacts all of us. The lighting set up will definitely entertain people who have an eye for it.

This place is awesome. We get a family season pass every year. The kids love going and it's great exercise for everyone.

It would be great if they could make some kind of APP for the Zoo that has some kind of GPS. Be able to search for an animal or place and give you directs. And as you visited the different animals, could have a link that gives you information on the animal.
Could have an option to selects different scavenger hunts. (Ex. You have to take a picture with the Komodo Dragon statue or find 10 different species of snakes)

Just a thought. So many options for it. And I not rather it but you could even have advertisements on it.

Thanks

Favorite place to visit in the city. Memberships are worthwhile if you visit more than once. The area of the zoo is large enough to have you coming back. They are open almost every day except Christmas day so the fun never ends.

Was a wonderful experience to see different animals up close. A good places to take kids, will take a good walk to see each parts of the zoo, but worth it. Con - Not many food options inside the zoo during November.

Great experience in the Terra Lumina however we would have wished that there were at least 2 paths to walk so that there was a variety. The walk was too short for our liking and the displays were Ok, could have been much better.

First time there. Big place. Enclosures are cool. Liked the facts about the animals. But wow, I couldn't believe how little the predators and really cool animals you couldn't see. Many times I couldn't find the animals. Every tiger or lion was sleeping or couldn't be found. Hippos were sleeping, gorillas just sat there. No sight of cheetah, snow leopard or artic wolf. Sad to say first and last time. Wasnt worth the the walking around or the commute. African lion safari is way better

Awesome place to take your kids. I went with my nephew and nieces so Im glad we went at the end of the summer since the weather wasnt too hot. When it is hot then the animals hide and sleep to avoid the heat. An educational experience along with a whole lot of fun. You need a few visits to see the entire zoo. I'll definitely be back for next year.

Pretty good zoo but not a big fan of the layout. Signs are confusing and doesn't facilitate a good flow for getting around the zoo. Some exhibits are out of the way and you have to loop back to continue. Definitely need to stare at your map every few mins.

Great day. Line ups to to pay and get in were super super slow. It was painful waiting in line. The girl in the booth appeared to have difficulty with anything other than a straightforward I would like a ticket here's my money. Once we were in the experience was fantastic. Lots of zookeepers out and gladly speaking about their animals. They weren't rushed and answered all questions even the ones from the little tykes that were asked over and over again! Traffic on the 401 in and out of the zoo was literally a zoo but....

The zoo in huge and well organized, with a large amount of animals and attractions. The prices are fair at this most, just the bottle of water is way over priced, what explains the lack of water fountains over the place. They don't have straws at the restaurants, probably for helping the environment, but they basically just offer water in plastic bottles.

It was nice that there was all kinds of different animals but unfortunately it's hard to get a picture of them with the animal's being surrounded by dirty glass windows with a glare. Other parks and zoos I've went to there was always just fencing and barriers so it made seeing the animals a little easier. Also all of the restaurants and snack bars throughout the park were closed or boarded up but atleast the Tim Hortons was opened.

Zoo, are always great as expected from a zoo. However, what is different and unique is the newest program that was launched for winter. Amazing sight. A little underwhelming than what we expected, however, a very unique experience.

Had an amazing time here. We went on a Tuesday, arrived at about 1:30pm, when a huge group of students were just leaving. It ended up being perfect because we just about had the whole park to ourselves! No wait to see the pandas or anything else. We all bought wrist bands for the zoomobile as well, highly recommend, it was a great way to see the park!

I love the Zoo! Very nice people run it with sunny attitudes, always wanting to share new information.

Only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5....it is time for the zoo to build a new, larger Polar Bear EXIBIT!!. Doesn't have to be as large as Winnipeg's Polar bear exhibit, but even double| the space would help them!

Tons of places to go, lots of animals to see. Great transportation all over the zoo grounds. Excellent for kids. Bring a stroller or transportation for the smaller ones (this was our mistake - it's a lot of walking for toddlers).
But we will definitely return!

Had a great experience at the Toronto zoo, vrry first visit. Went in the early afternoon most of the animals were in the shade due to the sun. Clean place with very clean bathroom I was impressed. You can bring your own food into the zoo. Kids 2 and under is free and you can get a 10% discount if you have a caa card with you. Lots of walking but we enjoyed every bit of it. The have wagons and strollers for rent also on the property A splash pad and a few gift shop. On the trails they have picnic areas and there are a few food shop like Tummies and pizza pizza.

We had a great day at the Toronto Zoo! So many animals to see! The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. As we were walking along a path a staff member overheard me saying check the map and they just gave me directions verbally. I think the food was very good... just long line ups and slow to get the food out. We plan to go back again this year!

Stay to the left to follow the arrows for social distancing. Great experience during pandemic. Security and hygiene are available. Saw lots of activity and entertainment between 10:30 am and 12 noon. Most visitors were respectful though a few couldn't seem to stay to the left lane while walking or stopping for conversation.

It was great we went early spring no lineups, but there was no zoomobile either, so we walked it. Again they do have an arrangement for disability children or adult s who require constant attention. Check out the picks

Not enough enforcement of distancing...very crowded. Won't be returning. Thought an outdoor activity in these times with online ticket purchase and some distancing precautions (as per website) would be good but without enforcement...mostly useless.

Truly appreciate the #TZScenicSafari parade organized for Scarborough health network frontline workers! Such a heartwarming effort by the Toronto Zoo and all the supporters: Centennial college, UfTSC, Honda Canada Foundation, Earth Rangers and Coca-Cola. Did you know Flamingos look gorgeous in September!? ;)

Good place. Easy to navigate and staff are read to help out. Places to get refreshments and food are allocated frequently so visitors can stay hydrated and don't have to gather at one place to get food. Animals are taken care of and that can be seen when the staff interacts with them. Out of all the mammals I saw, only the cougar wasn't fed at that particular time because of it having a different schedule, otherwise each and every animal was fed at the very same time. Just a little bit concerned about the grizzlies and the polar bears because of the heat during summer, but I'm no expert so I would have zero idea about how the animals feel. Gorillas are a treat to watch because some of them play around with the kids and freak them out in jest which is hilarious. Overall great experience. Amur tigers are the highlight of the zoo along with Indian one horned Rhino and the African Rhino trio.

Was at Brew at the Zoo event. Excellent event. We got admission to the zoo. There were about 10 different beer, cider and wine booths. Interactive areas with animals and keepers. A really great late summer evening.

We've always been a Toronto Zoo member family, so we jumped on the opportunity to visit the zoo during these difficult times with covid.

Unfortunately I would have to give this entire experience a big thumbs down.

We went during the 2pm slot, and we understand that some animals might be sleeping or inside -- but we saw only 2 zebras, 2 alpacas, and 1 camel.

It is just like paying to sit in traffic...even though there are signage to tell drivers not to stop, there were plenty of drivers who stopped extended periods of time when they wanted a picture opportunity.

Much better off going to African Lion Safari!

I think I went at a wrong time during COVID. Went last week and there wasn t much to see. Just some animals like other zoos. Expected a little cz it s one of the best zoos in the world. So many places closed. Very high price for food and water. Couldn t believe a 500ml water bottle costed me $3.49. We can get 25 pack water bottles outside for half the price. When I came out, it felt it wasn t worth 1and half hour drive from my place and I should ve spent money somewhere else. Ripley s aquarium was amazing compared to this. Not giving less stars for now. I ll visit next year and see if it gets exciting. Advice: pack food and water or buy it from outside before going inside.

Although zoos are not everyone's thing, without getting political, this zoo I feel is an honest attempt to preserve and educate. I appreciate the Toronto Zoos efforts at addressing the world's environmental issues and extinction rates while preserving the animals we have and caring for them. Food is expensive but that's no surprise, it's a zoo not a restaurant. Bring a bagged lunch and enjoy the animals.

The Toronto zoo was fantastic with huge enclosures. It is rare to see such large enclosures with great enrichment activities for be the animals. The signage for guests was also very informative. Many areas for kids to play and get out energy. Several for food spots with a variety of items, but a lot was closed for the winter. The long walk to the grizzly bear area was annoying since they were hibernating. There should have been a sign.

Very big zoo, we could not manage to do everything in the same day. I highly recommend to get a Toronto tourist pass. This way you can skip the line. The park has ample facilities for food and washrooms. They have some very special animals. But this Zoo requires a lot of walking. It feels like some areas of the Zoo where built later and not very well integrated in the route.

Amazing. The zoo is well maintained and there are a lot of beautiful animals that you may not have seen before. Totally worth the trip to the zoo. Yearly pass recommended as the zoo is huge so you do need to visit it multiple times to see the whole thing. On one of our trips one of our family was very ill and the zoo's security and medical staff were first class. Definitely a place to visit.

Toronto Zoo is always a good day. We went today during member only covid 19 time and they are well prepared. Hold all doors for our safety, clean very well. As far as animals, it was like any other day going to the zoo on a hot day, just with restricted walking paths and limited pavilion. Good times, well don't Toronto Zoo !

9 hours. It seriously took nine hours for us to cover this place (with three kids), and there were a few exhibits we probably would have spent some serious time on that were closed (kangaroos and red pandas weren't out, unfortunately).

The place is very well laid out, with sections devoted to certain regional wildlife (Africa, the Americas, Eurasia, etc.). Most of these naturally lead you to the next pretty seamlessly, which makes for a relatively simple flow.

We arrived 20 minutes before the gates opened and there were about two dozen people waiting, but I'd definitely recommend arriving early to get a good parking spot.

Do not miss the orangutan and gorilla exhibits, which are really tremendous.

Loved the zoo! Always have a great time. Only negative point is the new rule of not being allowed to take my child's wagon on the Zoomobile (unless you have a collapsible one).

It's a very good weather today with a lot of animals going outside. Not a very big zoo, but I like it.

When you go to the zoo, it's better if you visit clockwise instead of counterclockwise as most people do.

The Toronto Zoo is a big, beautiful home for so many incredible animals. Their enclosures are large and the animals appear by all accounts to be well taken care of. We had no problem getting around as their walkways are wide enough for several groups to travel at a time without feeling cramped or crowded. There is plenty of access for bathrooms and great areas. There are plenty of food places but they're expensive. The grounds are well maintained even in the winter. Great family time to be had! I recommend getting the membership as it would he super difficult to see everything in one day (without your feet or your children hating you for it).

Weather getting better and looking for some walk outs? This is the best hangout spot. We spent the day outdoor walking in the zoo and it felt so good as the weather was in positive that weekend. Pretty crowded but a lot of exhibits were closed, though few of them were notified well in advance. It was worth the money when you get to see those amazing polar bears. Probably would be more worth during the summers as may be all the exhibits would be open.

We go every year..it was a beautiful day even tho there are so many people We never feel crowded unless you are attending a feeding or something then people are all congested.. So much too see.. Wear good comfy shoes and pack a lunch for a picnic to save some $$

Lots to see and learn as a family, with plenty of activities for all interests. The splash pad is popular with young children, and there are climbing/zipline for older children and adults.
There is a popular zoo Camp during the summer for your kids as well, where they get to interact with the staff and animals.
