It is too cold to go to the zoo. Wait until the spring or summer. If you do go in the winter, check the schedule because it closes early (4:30 pm) yesterday. The arctic wolves are walking around, but most of the other animals are inside somewhere. We saw orangutans and gorillas inside.

A family favorite. Some of the exhibits require refreshing. Anything edible is quite overpriced. If you want to get your monies worth come early, plan to stay till closing , bring food and snacks!

The Toronto Zoo is a great place for families with kids of all ages. Besides the beautiful animals, there is a nice water park for kids to play. There are plenty of fast food restaurants all over the park including Tim Hortons and Pizza Pizza but bringing your own food and drinks are allowed.

Very Big, good for kids, however animals seem very sad. Many kids make fun of the animals and you can see them get mad or upset. I feel sorry for the gorilla. Many kids were taking pictures of him and he turned his face away as if we were all mocking him. I don't plan to visit the zoo again. I feel very sad for the animals!

Fun for the whole family and very spacious, may want to arrive a few hours after they open just to be sure all the animals are out and awake, we went early and had to search a bit for some because they were asleep. Would also advise on wearing bug spray and watch for wasps and bees as we ended up getting stung a few times. Also there is a lack of signage so we ended up buying tickets for a ride that wasn't even available then had to walk 30 minutes just to find a staff member to get s refund.

Compared to Bronx Zoo the number of exhibits are limited but spread in comparatively smaller area than Bronx Zoo New York, but huge acreage for the animals. Two stars because have seen better. Good for Children though

Wonderful exhibits with a lot of animals to choose from. There's transportation (at a small charge) around the zoo as well that is narrated by zoo keepers. I would definitely come here again when I visit Toronto to see the rest of the animals!

Definitely try going in the winter as well, it looks completely different! I didn't even mind the entrance fee due to the size of the zoo and the variety of animals. It's truly a huge and wonderful experience, even more so if you have young ones, or are young at heart yourself ;)

Husband and I wasted our money going during the winter. It was a really nice walk, but there were barely any animals!! The animals that were there looked extremely bored and the enclosures did not seem appropriate for half the animals. I remember back when I used to go during winters and it was a lot more lively than it was this time. The last time I went here was about 15 years ago and it is sad to see how this place has fallen. There is a $5 difference in summer and winter ticket prices which suggests that maybe the summer time is a better time to go, but I will definitely go in the summer to see the difference.

A great place for a stroll or to bring the kids. Animals are well cared for and the zoo is involved in many conservation projects. Kids will enjoy carousel, kids zoo, animal shows, large water play area, and the zoo mobile. There is always something happening.

We had an excellent day out! Even though the new COVID restrictions meant we couldn't go into the in door exhibits you could still see all of the animals that were outside and for the reduced ticket price it was well worth it.

Animals were few and far. The Arctic animals must be fried in this heat. May be build better shelters and cooler area for them. Plenty of food options despite Covid, which was a good thing. Booking in advance is good. Most rides and shops are closed, understandably so. Good arrangements from the zoo for Covid but many people not complying.

I really enjoyed Toronto Zoo because it was quite massive and would take you hours to complete. It was well worth the money especially if you do the city pass (about $78 US) which will save you about $80 . The guides were helpful and knew quite a bit about the animals. They have different times of the day where they have the guides talking about the animals. The parking is the only thing that is expensive at about $12 bucks but that's just me. The gift shop process are as expensive as you would expect.

For a place that makes this much money the animals and their habitats should be better taken care of. It was a rather sad experience, the lions are so thin and many animals weren t even there.

well I can say that it was a massive zoo with so many verity of animals and places.
the only problem was that when the weather is sunny and sort of hot its the worst place to be.
not so many places around the zoo had water so u can use. there were bunch of machines for selling water bottles and cokes and stuff for each bottle almost 4$ which really wasn't really fair.
also it could have been better if there were bikes for rent so we could have used instead of walking around the zoo.
the walking area was alot and people with kids were exhausted.
over all I enjoyed seeing different kinds of rhino.
other problem was that since the weather wasn't great all the animals were tired and hide under a shadow so they won't burn obviously
it could have been nice if they had some sort of plans for these situations.

Every time my family and I visit the zoo, we have an amazing time seeing and learning about all the animals from around the world especially when it comes to the endangered species. A definite must visit for young families looking for a fun filled and educational day. Awesome for couples to just get out in the sunshine have some fun as well.

First time I've went here in a long time, I was surprised how clean everything was and very well organized and all the animals looked healthy and looked after very good, only thing I was a bit disappointed in the Canada area some of the animals had a very small areas like the lynx and the bald eagle and they did not look very happy, but over was fun!!

The zoo is quite large. Plan a whole day and take your time. We were not even able to visit all areas in a whole day.

Loved the feeding of the polar bear and the fish tank areas.

There are nice picking spots so you can bring your own food or enjoy some of the restaurants.
The view from some of them is great too.
Remember never feed the animals as there was a statue of a monkeys that died after visitor feed it some human food....

All the exibits were interesting for every age.

Had a great time and will be back.

Super fun place for the kids. We went for the car tour and the in person tour during the covid days, and it was great. Make sure you bring water and sunscreen, and take lots of rests! The animals are spectacular

I haven't been to a Zoo since I moved from Singapore to Canada 8 years ago. The excitement was real. I wanted to to go the zoo more than I wanted to see the CN Tower.

We planned a whole day to visit the entire thing but suprisingly it only took about 5-6 hours including eating time. We got there as early as we could to opening time and honestly that makes a difference. There are less people in the morning so you can relax. We were Lucky and visited on a day that wasn't too sunny, not too warm, and it only rained at the end of our visit.

I think they did a great job with the exhibits, the variety of animals, the number of activities, the clarity of their map/signs/trails, and overall structure.

It's a gigantic zoo that offers so much! I loved my time here. They had so many amazing things to see and explore! I got to see sloths, pandas, sugar gliders, blue frogs, and so much more I can't even name them all! They have this awesome section dedicated to Canadian animals too which I really think is Worth the extra walking distance (It's the furthest exhibit on the map).

I visited with my boyfriend on Canada Day and they were having even more activities than normal. (Face paint, extra information booths, stickers, bracelets).

This is one of the best Zoo's I've ever been to.

If you're planning a visit, here are my tips:
-You're allowed to bring snacks
-Bring a water bottle, although they don't have any refilling stations the staff of the restaurants will be more than happy to fill it up for you.
-If you see something you like at a gift store that is specific to an exhibit, buy it now. it won't be at the final gift store. (Panda merchandise is sold at the Panda store and they have more merchandise at the actual Panda Store)
-Wear good walking shoes and a breathable outfit (There isn't a lot of places with shade so on days where it's really sunny, the heat is killer)
-Arrive at opening time or as close to opening time as you can
-Visit the panda's first! Once the flood of people arrive the waiting times get insane!

There is tons to do and tons to see. I really enjoy seeing the looks on kids faces when they get to see all these exotic animals for the first time. I really like that all of the animals have good sized enclosures and all look happy. They have tons of different animals and it will easily take you all day to see and admire each one of them.

Lots of wide-open spaces and you'll come across a few interactive exhibits for kids. Many animals and you won't feel bad because they have room to move. The animals appear more active in cold weather but the zoo mobile and animal shows only operate in the spring and summer when it isn't too hot for the animals.

They used to allow the peacocks to run around the park and in the spring you see the baby chicks following their moms around. I hope they reintroduce this.

There are also a number of indoor Pavilions throughout the zoo and it isn't possible to walk the entire zoo in one day. There is a tropical bird Pavilion where the birds run around free as well as a pavilion when it's the right time of year there are many butterflies flying around you.

This is one of the biggest zoos in the world both in terms of physical size and the number of animals. All the animals look healthy and they put effort into making their environments natural and comfortable for them.

Amazing. Parking is reasonable, lines are short to get in. Staff are friendly and helpful. The animals were all out and happy! We got to meet some of the animals and care gives. The bathrooms were clean. Prices for food was reasonable

Wow. Amazing and helpful staff; very positive feeling in zoo mobile(which I definitely recommend if you are going with family, kids or elders). It drops at 4 points you can go from there, you can travel in zoo mobile whole day long if you want!
Animals are kept in such good environments and they actually look happy!

Drive through was great my family saw some great animals. Gift shop is open at the main parking lot and other food and beverage vendors. My favourite is the bathroom sanitizing crews, they sanitize stall each and every use! Keep up the good work !!

So many things to see, a variety of plants and animals generally grouped by place of origin so you can experience the whole ecosphere. There are also several attractions like the zipline and gorilla ropes course.

To see the whole zoo you would need to spend a full day 8+ hours but you would also end up walking 12km so get your running shoes out!

Anyways a great family outing. While not much has changed, kids and adults should still love exploring the pavilions. Animals are always a treat, and the splash pad is a great end of day cool down. Only downside is how crazy expensive the new rides are.

Best time to go is in the morning shortly after they open at 9am. No wait to see animals and not crowded at all. Seasons pass is also well worth it if you have a little one that will only tolerate a few hours at a time. Splash park is great as well.

Very big zoo, a little too big for all the animals that they have. Since the covid the access to the washrooms is complicated. But it was fun, you just nees to go when its not too hot, and bring good shoes for walking

alright place, as long as you can walk long distances. watch out for camels too. them camels WILL stare you down. they just stand there, sometimes lay down, but they still stare. they're very intimidating. other than that it's a pretty cool place

nice place to visit especially for children. in this covid-19 situation they maintain all safety rules. washrooms facility is very nice with full safety.
Beautiful and amazing animals. one family can spend whole day in zoo with full enjoyment .parking facility is also nice. thank you all workers.
some restaurants are closed because of safety (covid-19) reasons but some are open.

Try to be there as early as you can, If you wanna see all the animals in this zoo. If you are there afternoon sometime then you will find all animals having their noon nap after their meals (lol). Bring your own food, there are only few options available there. Overall its an amazing place to be.

Was a fantastic experience, covid safety and all. Very nice staff and wonderful exhibits. Hopefully people learn to space out a bit more and follow directional arrows soon. Other than that, the kids and wife enjoyed it fully.

I would recommend comfortable foot wear, lots of walking if you are up to seeing the entire park. Good mix of animals and a lot of places to eat and washrooms along the way. If bringing kids, I would guess it'll take an entire day. Easy signage off the highway and lots of parking.

Do you have the whole day? Go with kids here. But take strollers.
It's a long path. Lots of walking.
Different continents' pavilions.
In summer they run ZooMobile so you can view without long walks.
The best parts are the covered areas like Gorilla safaris, aqua etc.
Canadian domain is the farthest where you find grizzly bears, eagle, bisons etc.
Summers are the best time to visit when everything is open and accessible.
We went just before winters and water areas and most of the restaurants were closed.
The only negative is the fact that you have to walk exactly the same path back to reach parking once you are done. I mean e.g. Canadian domain is the farthest, steepest and is a dead end. You can't just finish your visit there and exit to the parking. You have to walk back through all other domains like Africa, Eurasian, etc . Adds another 30 minutes.
Good place for a day spend.

We participated in the drive-through zoo experience. It was okay. A lot of the animals were out of sight. The bathrooms were clean at the entrance. To be honest, it felt like sitting on the 401 in rush hour. Luckily it was not hot. I understand this is a way of supporting the zoo and the care of their animals, so there is some overall good.

Good Infrastructure and well maintained premises. Was a little disappointed since few of the sections were closed for viewing.

Moreover, felt the parking cost is a bit on higher side.

Overall, a number of animals from across the world. Very large area and friendly staff. Have a good time.

Great place to take your kids. Expect lots of walking and the smell of poop in certain areas. The kiddos always have a great time and we try to visit at least once a year to see all the animals. Recommended if you are looking for something to do as a family or with your significant other.

Always a great time! My only complaints are that there are too few areas to cool off on hot days, and that (as far as I could tell) there was no shuttle to the back parking lot and the walk is quite long to get there.

I've loved the Toronto zoo since I was a kid. Recently took my own kids and had a great time. It has however gotten expensive to visit. It was $88 with parking & zoo mobile, both my kids were free as they are under 2. $3.75 for bottled water & $4.75 for vitiman water. I must be hard for low income families to do this.
The zoo is as great as it always was, clean and fun, always wonderful place to visit.

Impressively expansive. We did a lot of walking to get to each exhibit; 15,000 steps on the Fitbit. We also too the train and it was worth it to hop from area to area. The train will also give you some behind the scenes experience. The Canada exhibit is up a steep hill, most people skip it from what I hear, but we enjoyed finding the moose there. Food is good here. Plenty of gift shops. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it could have more animals; some areas seemed sparse, but it definitely is not over-crowded for the animals.

Lots of fun. Great collection of animals from all over the world. Well maintained, clean, and very large. Wear comfortable shoes. Pretty expensive though. Two people + parking is $70, which is too much.
