I loved the experience when I went to see Wicked and Book Of Mormon years ago. Some other reviews were complaining that the ushers didn't allow them to sing along, and i agree with the ushers; You came to see the play, not belt showtunes.

The cast and crew worked hard to present something beautiful, and you singing alongside them not only shadows over them, it disturbs the folk around you.

We saw The Lighting Thief and I give the show a 5+ stars. It was fabulous. We purchase what I thought to be good seats but I could see nothing past the person in front of me. Seems the seats were not aligned properly or something. Through the first act, I was going left, right constantly. It must have been very annoying / distracting for the people behind me. For the second act I sat on the very edge of my seat and tried as best I could to see over the person in front of me. I was uncomfortable through the show and left with a sore neck and back. The show was incredibly good though and kept my mind off my discomfort. I could have complained there but the theatre was very full in front of and behind me, so I don't think they could have found me a better seat.

Beautiful theater. Great production of Wicked. Only negative is that they sell popcorn and drinks which patrons can take into the theater then leave spilled popcorn, etc on floors. Very disappointing to see this in a professional and elegant theater.

What can I say, it's Live Theatre. Seats are roomy and acceptably comfortable. Can be a little on the pricey side for someone on a budget. But if you get the chance, Treat yourself to the Theater Experience, ,go out, mingle in the crowd at itermission, Have a drink,( if it doesn't break any personal rules) it maybe one of those expensive ice creams. Possibly a souvenir on the way out. I go every chance I get. My next play will be Bat out of Hell. Here's a pic me having a drink during itermission at Beautiful.

The Play That Goes Wrong had me laughing in so many ways. I found myself in tears at some of the subtle absurdities, giggling into my hand because others had gone silent already. It was a real delight.

Mirvish always does a good show. This theater however, there foyer is beautiful but is very crowded at intermission. The seats are not quite stagerred enough. As a short person I often have to spend the whole show leaning to one side

Great venue, you can see the performance on the stage from wherever you are seated.
Only drawback are the really long concession lines during intermission...each transaction seems to take much longer than needed...maybe more help would speed it up.

Very nice but in this day in age I don't understand how a theater of that size doesn't have more water fountains. Other than that no real complaints. Pro tip though: if you have tickets to the nose bleeds, bring binoculars. No one will laugh at you and you will be able to see the expressions of the actors face. It's a game changer.

Went to watch Hamilton and been there a few more time.
It is a different experience for my age to see the history and indoor art in Toronto.

Known originally as the Pantages Theatre and home ...

Known originally as the Pantages Theatre and home to the critically acclaimed "Phantom of the Opera", it was renamed in honour of Ed Mirvish who was born and raised in Toronto and through his success because an active community philanthropist and supporter of local theatre. Through his efforts, this theatre was revitalized and eventually renamed in his namesake in his honour. He also contributed to the community with his store called "Honest Ed's" once located at the corner of Bloor and Bathurst Streets. He even had an annual turkey drive for Thanksgiving where he donated a turkey to anyone in the community for free. The building for this establishment is still there as a city cultural landmark. He and his brother David were also great supporters of the Arts and revitalized the theatre district on King Street West which now bustles with theatre and some local restaurants and shops. It is also the original location where Canada's Walk of Fame (similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame) was originated and inaugurated in order to honour Canadian talent in the entertainment industry (theatre, music, literary, etc.)

Well designed playhouse for sound and sight from even the more remote cheap seats. If your in the back balcony just bring your binoculaires. Mervish events are usually accurately advertised. Get your tockets at the theatre box office and save $7 each.

Awesome productions, we have been members for years and are rarely disappointed, (robin hood was not good, and we found Spring awakening too be to "adult" for our taste) we see about 6 shows a year so in five years that's a pretty awesome track record. ALSO if you have a membership they have great "extras" like parking discounts and nearby restaurant discounts

We watched kicked in this theatre. It has a very nice and spacey interia (for musical theatre standard). The music is strong enough to fill the whole theatre, which is always a plus. Although the person in front of you might block the view a bit, but you can't ask for too much when you pay for the magazzie spot

I was there to see Hamilton musical. So, Many, People. After act 1, the line for the washroom was out of the washroom, then all the way in the hall with all other lines for food/drinks and merch, then out of the entrance door. But the line moves quickly. Thanks to a staff quickly ushering people to available stall. After the show, I saw theatre staff telling people ways to get out of the theatre if they don t need to get any merch or use washroom. Side doors were available to use and we were able to quickly exit the crowed theatre.

Great old theatre in downtown Toronto. Around the block from the Eaton Center, lots of restaurants and Toronto's version of Time Square. If you are going to the theatre head down early and take in the vibe! There are lots of parking lots within walking distance or take an easy public transit trip. In the theatre make sure you take the time to soak in the authentic look of the original architecture and decor. *** The washrooms are tiny and always have huge line ups so go earl or before and if you have to ...run at intermission to be at the front of the line!
