Beautiful venue and Bat of out Hell was a great show. Also the seats were reasonably priced and still had a great view. Had a wonderful time!
Beautiful venue and Bat of out Hell was a great show. Also the seats were reasonably priced and still had a great view. Had a wonderful time!
Great performance. Good sight lines and acoustics
Had a fantastic time. A bit squished though and nowhere to put a drink if you buy one. So you'll most likely spill it and get it all over other people's things.
Beautiful theatre. Great viewing experience. Enjoyed the show.
Great theatre and bar service. Bathroom lines moves quickly.
Wow what a great show and a great venue. I dont think there is a bad seat in the house. Ordering the drink before the show was simple and I walked out and grabbed it without any delay.
The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms are too small. Poor ladies had a massive line and even the men were lined up. When you see men lined up you know there is not enough facilities on site. Aside from that however, great place. It would have easily gotten 5***** bar the shortage of bathrooms.
What a beautiful theatre. I was lucky enough to catch a matinee of Anastasia with my lovely friend last week and we had an utterly wonderful afternoon.
A few thoughts about the venue:
I had a challenge meeting my companion for the afternoon as the main entrance to the the theatre is via Victoria St, but the box office is accessed via Yonge St. We had not specified at which entrance we were going to meet, so I waited at the box office whilst my friend waited at the main entrance. At the time, I wasn t even aware that there was another entrance (N.B: without your ticket, there is no thoroughfare and you must walk the entire city-block to check the other entrance), so took us almost 20 minutes to finally meet.
There were challenges collecting a pre-ordered interval drinks; be sure to hold on to that coupon receipt and don t try to add anything to your order because you will be made to join the back of the queue. I accept some responsibility here.
Washrooms are very busy at this venue and I would advise using the ones located in the Eaton Centre before arriving for your performance.
Beautiful theatre! Friendly, accommodating staff easy access from Yonge street
Great theatre with lots of great architecture and history. We went to go see Mama Mia. It was great. We had pretty good seats but I personally think that anywhere in the theatre is a great seating area. The woman's washroom is always full so try not to use it if you can.
Jersey Boys was very good they sounded very close to the real Frankie Valli and the 4 seasons.
Great staff, comfortable seats. Not enough space. Too crowded, not enough washrooms.
Great awesome show I really did enjoy will see it again
Love this theatre. Honestly, there are no bad seats!
The walkway into the theatre is absolutely beautiful! I went to watch the Bodyguard on Saturday and it is one of my favorite shows I've seen! Definitely looking forward to coming back to watching something else on another occasion!
Great place to see a show, staff are very helpful and friendly. The seating seems to be decent wherever you end up. The sound could use a bit a help though and that is a minor complaint and sometimes it depends on the show you are seeing. If you are going for a night out highly recommend a show at this theatre. Saw Book of Mormons last and loved it.
Beautiful and historical theatre...a little too warm for a show
Saw The Lightning Thief here. Gorgeous old theatre in immaculate condition.
This theatre is very nice and well maintained but the upper level seats are not designed well, making it difficult to see the stage over the people sitting in front of you.
Excellent staff! Made the theatre experience a pleasure!
Great venue, could do with more legroom, as I am ~190cm tall. Beautiful from every angle.
Really nice place, clean and staff really friendly.
Great show and beautiful theatre however bathrooms were very busy during intermission, we ran down to Fran's.
Terrrrific Wicked but in a great way! Loved cast and show.
Old theatre with a lot of good plays. It is what it is.
Nice theatre. Pretty good seats even in the balcony.
An old fashioned feeling right in the heart of downtown Toronto great shows to choose from
last Saturday, there was an issue with my tickets, the company who sold me duplicating seats with someone else that we don't know. We were so frustrated as we were taking 2 kids to the show and they were very excited about the event at the beginning. The manager at Ed Mirvish did realize our frustration and he had grantee us that we would be able to get to the show that day, he tried his best to look for the better seats that equivalent to the section we purchased and he said words to comfort me and my kids to ensure they are not disappointed. Eventually we had a good time with the help of the manager at this theater, I can't thank him enough.
I will go on my battle with with eservus about how they issued duplicated seats on the same time and same time.
Amazing theater venue in the heart of Toronto's downtown.
A historical and regal theatre that is centrally location at the heart of downtown. The shows are unique but, appeal to all.
This Theatre is right downtown. It was clean and the show I saw was ok. I don't think I'm really into theatre shows so I rated it as just a three.
A beautiful venue paired withsuperb acoustics. What more can a person ask for!
Their coffee is awful!!
Could use some updating especially in the bathrooms, and there is plenty of riffraff in the area so hang on to your purse.
The seating is good from almost every angle. However it is definitely not helpful for those with physical disabilities.
Beautiful theatre, wonderful experience. However, I can't rate any venue 5 stars when water costs over $3. I understand markups, but goodness gracious, it's water.
Beware of the mezzanine level and the inability to see nearly any of the show thanks to the heads of the innocent people in front of you. Otherwise, a beautiful building.
Pretty decent sight lines. The play Wicked was pretty good.
I love Victoria theatre... just wish there were more bathrooms.
Attended Mozart's opera Idomeneo here. Poor accoustics, needed amplification. Beautiful space, comfortable seats. Everything sounded muffled, lacked the power and color needed for Mozart's score. Opera Atelier should find a better space or return to Elgin.
Highly recommend!
Great time, and the way the set up was engineered was amazing.
Notching beats the acoustics in this place.
Recently saw Come From Away and The Waitress at this theatre -truly spectacular. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Great productions.
Hamilton- the play
Unique theatre production
Great theatre, even the cheap seats are comfortable and have full view of the stage.
Very warm inside not alot of ventilation seats are way to close together absolutely zero space to be comfortable but super beautiful almost every inch is covered in marble absolutely beautiful
Finally saw Wicked! Great production overall with an amazing storyline. Sound for the first 20-30 minutes was not great; could not hear the main characters over the chorus. It was like OZ had its own language.
Gorgeous theatre that is host to some of the most impressive theatrical events in Toronto.
Went to see The Illusionists great experience...wish the venue had better food options though
Amazing shows. But the interior layout is really congested. On the orchestra level there are only 1 set of bathrooms, meaning long lineups at intermission. Also, when the shows let out, all the staircases are filled with people, as there are so few exits compared to people. If you have mobility issues, I would avoid this theatre.
Seem some great plays at this location and great location.
Watched Mama Mia! Excellent theatre. Helpful staff. Definitely will come back.
Amazing building seating is comfortable and the acoustical performance is excellent. We were there to see Jersey Boy's excellent performance of the life of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
Saw Wicked there and it was an amazing show and venue.
Went to see Anastasia. The performance was amazing. Ladies rest room line up is still horrible. You can spend the whole intermission waiting to use the loo.
Great theatre, saw Wicked over the weekend and had a fabulous time.
I have seen a few shows here. The theatre is gorgeous. The seats are comfortable. And of course the entertainment phenomenal.
Wonderful heritage theatre for musicals and other shows. Seats 2,200+.
Tickets were purchased as a Christmas gift for my parents and when they arrived the box office told them tickets had been cancelled. They basically stole our money and ruined my parents day. Awful theatre. Avoid Mirvish at all costs.
I saw Hamilton here and it was fantastic!! I had a couple gripes with the lead(a.ham) actor at the beginning, but it was mostly just cause I'd listened to the original cast recording when Hamilton first came out
Saw the laat night of Bat Out of Hell.
Great venue.
Production was awesome.
Great productions, friendly staff and clean theatre
Great accoustics, great shows (especially the recent School of Rock). Easy to get to the place and polite staff.
Beautiful theatre in the heart of downtown Toronto
Parking in the area. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Love the musicals and the shows often playing in the Ed Mirvish Theatre. Although I love more modern venues I do enjoy the authentic old school feeling of the Ed Mirvish Theatre. If u love musicals, Sedona Ly check them out!
Lovely venue!!! Saw School of Rock tonight and it was Phenomenal!
I love this! I give it 5 stars! The theater looks amazig has a great antique feeling.
Poor seating arrangements if you're not able to grab a higher priced seat up front. Seats aren't offset, so you're at the mercy of whoever site I front of you, and you'll still find yourself leaning side to side trying to catch a proper angle of the show. Narrow path ways slow down traffic. Design is not efficient, but reflective of the time in which the theatre was built.
Beautiful theatre! Saw the wonderful show Matilda in front row seats above the Orchestra.
Nice theater. We were 5 rows from the front on the right side EE42 and 43. The seats were perfect for viewing. Very quick service at the bar drinks are roughly $8 for alcoholic drinks, and snacks are roughly $5.
The stairs are tricky to maneuver. I tripped while going down to get outside and hurt my arm pretty bad.
Service was fantastic. Seats were comfortable. Musical was GREAT. watched Matilda, highly recommend it
