I went here with my new husband on our Toronto honeymoon to see a performance of Matilda. It was a little confusing because we had to pick up our tickets at will call, and they send you around to the non-yonge street entrance to do so. However, the performance was amazing. We were in the orchestra section. I do wish the seats were a little less cramped.

Exquisite classic theatre. All the timeless elegance lost in so many new environments. You can sit anywhere and enjoy the magnificent performance. And...bonus...you can take your drink and snacks into the theatre and enjoy. The patrons were all very respectful and there were no distracting behaviours (phone, eating, chatting).

"Tango" was a great performance but the popcorn smell and ice cream vendors gave the vibe of a sports stadium/cinema. What an odd mix of styles in such an old grand theater. The people started leaving while the dancers were still bowing on stage like at the movies.

I simply loved my experience at this theatre. I went to see a musical "The book of Mormon" and it was fun. The space was clean and well organised. The staff courteous and kind. The ambience in the theatre was awesome!! The grandeur of the whole place comes to light the minute you are in there. The toilets were all on the top area, and were clean and neat. I loved my experience here.

Went to see Bat Out of Hell, it was an awesome show. Theatre is in a great location across from the Eaton centre and just a 15 minute walk from Union Station. It was a sold out show but the coat check and bar services were quick and friendly. Beautiful old Theatre.

My first time in here was for Wicked and It was phenomenal! Our seats were near the top back of the venue, so I'd recommend people who are planning on these seats to bring binoculars if allowed so you can see better. Or purchase closer seats, it's worth it. The building is gorgeous and the seats were comfortable! I felt like I was taken to a whole new place, like as if I boarded the Titanic. Definitely worth visiting!! And the food/beverage prices were very reasonable!

This theatre is like an old friend...always great to see them. I have seen productions AND movies at this location for over 40 years - from Grease when it was "Imperial Six", to Phantom Of The Opera when it was "Pantages", to Forever Tango at "Ed Mirvish". Each experience was 5 stars. The seating is comfortable, and the decor exquisite. A beautiful theatre.

WHAT FRESH HELL IS THIS?

WHAT FRESH HELL IS THIS?

If you have spent your hard earned money on a ticket to a show, particularly an opera, be advised that gone are the glorious days of, until now, the innocuous cacophony of candy wrappers and chatter bugs. The Ed Mirvish Theate management has made the brilliant and money grabbing decision to allow drinks and "snacks" into the theatre, that can be conveniently purchased in the theatre lounge, to be happily consumed by ticket holders who cannot sit through a performance without feeling they are at home being potatoes on their couches. We recently attended an opera performance by the world renowned Opera Atelier. The potatoes sitting in front of us happily consumed coffee, wine and a bag of candy and, not surprisingly, tossed their garbage under their seats onto the floor. With my gob now seriously smacked, I approached an usher to ask if this was permitted and he answered "yes, people were complaining that they didn't have enough time to eat and drink their snacks and drinks, so they can bring them in. We have to clean it up." If you prefer to enjoy a performance in relative quiet, this may not be the theatre best suited to satisfy your aesthetic needs.

Very nice theatre, comfy seats, great view, nice and classy ticket area and concession.

I wish I had visited under better circumstance than seeing the train wreck that was Bat out of Hell but the theatre is nice enough I am looking forward to the next - hopefully better - showig.

Went to see the musical play bat out of hell, it was amazing, the theatre staff were organized, helpful and they even had an usher in the washroom to help speed up long wait lines during intermission.

Came to see School of Rock. The show was awesome and made me want to go back and watch the film again. After rewatching I think it is safe to say the show really holds very well. Awesome experience!

If you are going here for a music concert, think twice. The audio was terrible, and they stopped serving drinks as soon as the show started. 2 hour concert, no drinks. On the plus side, all staff I interacted with were great.

One of Toronto's great theatres. Consider grabbing a drink across the way on Victoria or nearby dundas sq/Yonge st before the show. Parking under dundas sq. Close to subway. Best plan for during intermission is to head to the balcony as everyone fills the main floor.
