You can easily spend a whole day here as the garden centre has a clothes shop a fish aquarium, cafe, restaurant and of course a garden centre which I personally think is good but, could be a little better for the size, compared to some other garden centres.

Tong is by far one of the best garden centers we visit.

The food at the cafe at the back is fantastic (I highly recommend their scones - stacked high with cream and made in-house!) and freshly made.

Kids will also get enjoyment out of the fish center. There's a large koy pool and you can pay to feed them.

Parking is more than ample. There's overflow parking and the place never seems too crowded, despite the number of cars there.

Huge place, MUCH much than just a garden centre. Food, clothes, pets and much more. Plus the huge outdoor space for children which is amazing. Well worth a visit for the playground alone and also the food in the cafe is extremely good quality.

Some items can be expensive but most garden centers are the same in that respect. This place comes into its own at Christmas! The whole place comes alive with great stock and can easily kill an hour or 2 just to get into the festive spirit.

Huge garden, home & outdoor centre. Lots on offer at good prices. I'd say this place is more up market than your smaller back street stores. Its got a good cafe and small food market offering a good variety of products. Fantastic seasonal displays and selection of products. This years Christmas offerings are a must.

Tong garden centre upon arrival, 12.15, Friday 27th September, was a hive of activity. Staff, shop workers and customers were in abundance. The stock overflow of departments was confusing, too much to consume and an array of sparkling colour arrangements.
The social activity of the cafe was relaxing and efficiently run. Food was appetising and plentiful. I found the purchase that I needed at a reasonable price. Look forward to a return visit.

After a lovely day out walking the dog in Tong decided to call here for a browse of Christmas bargains. Not much left unfortunately and disappointed that I couldn't take the dog in. Most garden centres now allow well behaved dogs so hubby had to wait outside while I had a quick browse. The person serving me on the till said it was due to food hygiene rules however been to Wyevale and Gordon Riggs and they have a separate area in the cafe where dogs are allowed!!

Had a lovely afternoon in Tong Garden centre in the play area with my husband Stan and our Great Grandson Charlie and myself Denise. Lovely watching Charlie in the play area having a wonderful time in one of his favourite places and then into the shop to look at the amazing Christmas displays. Tong g/c have really excelled themselves this year. We spent quite a bit of money on Christmas presents and a new Ferris wheel for our Christmas village, can't wait for Christmas now

Major building works - lots of areas closing or closed off with boxes piled up waiting to be unpacked. Also reduction in external plant stocks due to building site so no summer houses on display. Slightly disappointing but I am sure once completed and the internal sorted out will look stunning

Much improved but pricing in cafes is extortionate. If a couple took, say, three children to eat there, they'd need a second mortgage. Having said all that, i do like Tong, just don't use the cafes

I visit Tong garden Centre every Christmas and I have to say I was a little disappointed this year. Unless I missed something I didn't think it was the magical christmassy display I have seen in the past that children could get excited about.
The cafe was also disappointing. It wasn't particularly busy but had to wait ages to be served at the hot food counter and customers didn't seem to know which end of the counter they should queue in fact it was very confusing.
The hot Turkey and stuffing sandwich was completely tasteless. The area we were sat in was closed off while we were eating and the staff began sweeping the floors around us which apart from being unhygienic made us feel very uncomfortable.
All I all not a very enjoyable visit and I think will give it a miss next year.

It's a fantastic shopping experience! The staff are extremely helpfull, the eatery is brilliant and good value on top of great food. Go for an afternoon tea with a friend or family. There's something for everyone at Tong garden centre. Some gift ideas that are very select and unavailable at most other retail outlets..I can't recommend it enough, you won't be disappointed.
