Good beer, decent food, bad service. This place definitely benefits from being one of the few spots in town, especially if you've finished up some outdoors activity somewhere west of Denver.
The food was okay, good selection of burgers, and the highlight was definitely the beer (which it should be given this place is a brewery). But the service, specifically our waitress, was bad enough that we won't be going back.
This is a great place to eat. You get your money's worth and the food is great. The root beer was the best I ever tasted!!
The menu has a great selection and the portions are generous. We ordered the build your own macaroni with pulled pork and mushrooms, chili and salad, burrito, fish and chips, Southwest burger, and pulled pork sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food. We also enjoyed the beer flights. The drink menu has a vast selection too, with something for every taste. I highly recommend this place.
Garlic truffle fries are the best thing I've ever eaten!
On vacation, drove over 30 minutes, arrived at 9:03pm and were told they were closed, 10pm "summer hours only". There were at least 15 people eating and drinking inside. My biggest frustration is that I tried to call before 9pm, I tried to verify that we could still place a food order...even to-go, but the phone number was for the office and the multiple times I tried to connect to the bar, no one answered. Because of the time wasted driving here, we could no longer make it to any restaurant before closing.

You can't go wrong with Tommyknocker Brewery! Whenever we head to the mountains this is always our first stop. The beer and food are unbeatable. There's something for everyone. If you're not a big drinker I recommend their root beer.
Better than Eastbound and Down (the other brewpub down the street) if your looking for a meal.
We are locals and everytime we come here we get that server who ignores us. As I write this our server is sitting at the bar talking. Our burgers came out raw when ordered medium well and medium. She has no idea we even returned them. The manager Tim is really cool guy but needs to talk to his employees about taking care of customers.
Enjoyed my cream ale, loved the rootbeer. Burgers are good. Took a little while to get our food but the service was very good otherwise.
Third visit and third time to get overcooked burger. Tonight I ordered rare and even said "emphasis on rare" to server. They comped my burger (again), but still who wants something they didn't order...free or not.

Usually stop and get pizza down the road, but wanted to try this place again for their food, and well, a beer or two as well. Turns out, we made the right choice because the food was outstanding! Bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers and garlic fries were a wonderful appetizer I'd highly recommend. Chicken and waffle sammy was on point, (delicious and unexpected sea salt on the waffles topped it off)... green chili is a must get and of course then there was the beer. Frothy, tasty, succulent dark beers is what I flighted, with the chocolate porter being my fav. Give this place a shot! (Bonus points: friendly service from the host, manager and waitress)

Good Brewery. Not great, but not bad. They do maintain consistency in their beers. Food is a little hit and miss and always busy with the tourist crowd.

Love the food here. The skiers special is my favorite, obviously seasonal. They have some of the best beers I've ever tasted, also some are seasonal. The point is, they are awesome all year round.
Delicious food! I ve come to this place several times over the years on way from Denver to the Rockies and it never disappoints! Pastrami sammy was fantastic.
First time eating here. The food was amazing. The service was fabulous. Kevin was our waiter, and we couldn't have been happier. Eat here; you won't he disappointed!

The brews are good and the food was great! We had a light flight (actually 2). My wife liked the creme peach and pilsner. I liked the other 2. Would recommend if you care more about food and drink, and don't really care about service or speed.
Idaho Springs is a beautiful little town and Tommyknocker is the perfect place to fit in. Try any burger as an Elk or Buffalo burger!
Treated poorley by the hostes. The food was great, beer was great. When I went to the rest room they bussed my table and threw away the remainder of my meal and a full pint that was payed for. Will not stop in again and will discourage my friends from buying tommyknocker.

I have been going to your restaurant for years with out of town
guests. You used to make the Best wings in the USA . No one has ever
disputed this fact after trying the Old recipe. I have had to freeze your old
recipe and bring the 2000 miles with me we I go east. I will never return to
Tommy Knockers. You could put 12 in the order for the old price of six and still
lose customers
Bring back the wings and you will bring back the customers.

This place has great food options, like a fancy-ish pub with some creative outdoor seating (for covid). There is a gas station and tesla supercharger right next door and a pretty awesome walking street with cute little shops if you need to stretch your legs.
The jalapeno poppers are incredible. Next time I stop by it's going to be two plates of them for my meal
Great place to stop on the way back from a day of shredding the gnar. Good local beer and food is great. The fish and chips is massive. Burgers are the bomb.
Iconic brewery in the heart of Idaho Springs. Beer is excellent but the food is pretty average bar food selection. There is usually a wait list, especially during high tourist seasons or the weekends. Building is huge, not that many great views. Worth a trip if you are in town grab third Blood Orange IPA if you are there, it's excellent. #brewpub #beer

Food was amazing! Service not so much.. our waiter was older gentlemen "John" he wasn't very pleasant ... everytime I asked for something I'd get a bothered look. Other than John our visit was nice.

The place is really neat and the food was good. My only issue was that the waiters and bus boys are so anxious to take our plates away that I had half of my fries left and they zipped by taking my unfinished plate. They need to instead ask if they can take the plates.

I visit tommy knocker every time I'm in Colorado. Their pumpkin beer is delicious and has a brown sugar rim that compliments it very well. Service and food were great. Will come back every time I visit!

Great food, great service, and great drinks!! Had the hot chocolate cake cocktail which was delicious along with the caramel apple cider. The fries with green chili was yummy and there tomato artichoke soup!! I asked for sweet potato fries initially but don't regret getting the soup instead
Terrible service empty drinks the whole night. Had to ask for the veggies that my burger should have come with and our waiter still never brought them so I got to enjoy my burger with Meat and cheese only. After all that we waited over 20 minutes to pay so we finally went up front to pay where the waiter came to find us and then proceeds to give attitude after I bring the bad service to his attention and he tells he s to busy to give decent service. It s awful that this good food had to be paired with him.
Close to Winter Park ski resort. Sleepy town. Nice folks and beer galore!
When you walk in the bar is to your right and the dining room is to your left.
They have a sour beer here that I will get back to prob next week.
We had the duck wings. Good. Clean and well lit place. Beers and some munchies. What's not to like?
