Beer is good but they are always crowded. So get there early
Used to liked the place. Looks like they changed the menu and chef food does not taste the same. Had some nachos and wings. The wings half of them were raw. Nachos not the same. Services was not that great
Awesome beer selection, good food and decent prices. Maple Nut Brown Ale is a delicious beer to try. Service was good throughout the entire meal.
Casual atmosphere, good food and reasonable prices! Great selection of beer! Had to get the Chile beer to go.. but who cares, planned on stocking up anyhow!
I had the Fish and Chips and a couple of Blood Orange IPA's. Always good!
We ordered food and root beer. And they served us some.
Great beer selection. Neat brewery environment. Very friendly waiter.
I'm a Native who gets frustrated with the more recent crowds and hustle and bustle around Denver metro. My husband and I now venture to Idaho Springs to slow down and relax, Tommyknockers is an absolutely perfect place to chill. The staff are amazing, the restaurant is clean and the food/drinks can't be beat especially for the price.
The beer was spot on. Always has and will be. The food changed recently and it wasn't as good as it used to be :/
It was ok. I had the chicken and waffles sandwich which, in my opinion, lacked flavor. I really did not like it. I ended up swapping for the fish tacos. They were pretty good.
They are super busy! Totally worth the wait fantastic sercser and the food was all fresh and top notch. We will be back again
Very nice atmosphere. Great service. Awesone food. Delicious beer.
Poppers with raspberry Chipotle was worth the trip from the Great NW. All the ales were very representative of their family and difficult to say which was the better of them all. Chili Verde pork was great and balanced heat for all the soft mouths our there. Burgers were good and fairly priced. Wait staff took care of business without being intrusive.
Today we had the best service and food that we have had here! We sat at the bar. 1-28-20
Amazing tomato soup, its hamburgers are delicious and the beer in samples of four small glasses, are the perfect measure to taste their delicious beers, cozy place and good service, highly recommended
Cool place, good food, good people! Laid back and delicious
Great location to meet with our Jeeping friends from around the country when in Colorado for the Mile Hi Jeep Club All-4-Fun. We look forward to returning this summer when the event is in Empire.
Very expensive poor quality but adorable quaint town
Pull into Idaho Springs and get a craft brew and an order of fish and chips at Tommyknocker's. You can thank me later.
My husband and I had a great waiter. Ordered the Elk burger it was fantastic. Well be back again!
Best wings this side of the divide!!!!!!! Raspberry chipotle is the bomb!!!!!
Great food, great beer, friendly service. Excellent place to stop in the way back to Denver from the mountains - I try to plan on dinner here every time I'm in I-70.
I did not try the beer. However, I had the cheeseburger and fries with a root beer float. The bun is dry. I recommend going with a softer more moist bun. This makes or breaks a burger. The fries are average and need seasonings. The root beer float was good. This meal cost over $25 after tax and tip and was not worth the quality of food. For this reason I don t recommend going there for food.
Had a burger after hiking, they made to my liking. They were busy so the wait was long and the parking situation is kind of tough there.
good food, good beer. But always busy on the weekends.
Drinks and food were fantastic! Service was okay but could have been better! Walked past us several times without noticing empty drinks.
Always have to stop at Tommyknocker's when coming over the mountains!
In Colorado, every place seems to brew their own beer and this is no exception. What made this place stand out was solid food and the selection of beers were very good. Since I was with a party of four, I got to have a sip off each of the different beers ordered and unlike some places I've been to here, each one of them was solidly good!
The food is excellent too, I tried the bison burrito and it was so good I inhaled it! My party also ordered the elk burger, which was also well-made and delicious, a salad(we had a vegan with us!) and the salad was also good.
More of a restaurant than brewery but the food was good and so was the beer. This town has a whole lot of history as well.
Cannot day enough great things about this brewery. The beers were probably the best we have had. We have several different flights of been. I ended loving the Lavender Sour the best! They only make a few batches so hurry in!
Horrible service!! Hostess is setting president for customers coming in!! Waitresses rude and as we were once regulars. We won t be returning.
I know that pizza place down the street is more known by out-of-state visitors, but this is my "must stop" place in Idaho Springs. Sure, it helps that I have BeauJos one town over in Fort Collins...
But Tommyknocker keeps me coming back with a unique and tasty menu and a wide selection of their beers (including ones you can't get in stores). Ask what beer they have on the beer engine that day, and try the duck wings!
Great brewery environment and the food is worth the wait.
Excellent food and service! We are locals and love it here!
Love everything on their menu. Fish and chips and there poppers are my favorite! Their berry beer in the summer is a must also!
Great food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere. Definitely reccomend!!
Delicious food and drinks.. only 4 stars, bc I am really sad that they got rid of their duck wings.. They were sooooo delicious
Excellent menu, unusual beers, great soda fountain, good service. An experience not to be missed.
Great food and quick service. The Pork green chilli was delicious. Order a side of onion rings--they're great! Be aware that most of Idaho Springs charges for parking using a kiosk that only takes credit cards. After 7pm there is no charge for parking.
Yummy! Always yummy! I dont drink alcohol, but that never stops me from eating here, the food is always excellent and the staff is always kind and courteous.
Food and beer are great everytime. Wait staff is hit and miss. Waited 10 min fo someone to come to the table.
Wide selection of beers of all styles. Bar seating is right next to the brewing tanks, giving a wonderful yeast and hop aroma throughout.
The service was great! Chris overheard me mention a beer and appeared with a taster out of nowhere. The Mineshaft Spinach Artichoke dip was delish with a bit of spice. No complaints here!!
Great place. Greater beer! Staff is great even with all the covid restrictions. Will definitely be back my next time through.
Drinks are good. The people are friendly. The sitting side is very dark. The area is very nice and bright.
Stopped here on our way back from Mt. Evans. The beer was awesome! Had some appetizers and shared them with my family. Really good food. Waitress had perfect recommendations for all our beers.
Great food and excellent beer. They even have singles and six packs to go.
Fish and chips used to be my favorite but now their tiny little things! Boooo
This is one of my top 3 restaurants in Idaho Springs. They make and have excellent beer here they have a wide variety on the menu from Pizza to steaks to Bar type foods. The service is always good the atmosphere is unique and fantastic,, and the beautiful view of the mountains through the brewery windows is spectacular what an awesome place to have dinner, I highly recommend.
Loved it! Great food and drinks. Friendly service, cool atmosphere. We both had burgers, both were tasty.
Good food, staff, music and views. You will pay a little extra being on i-70 but it is worth it.
An awesome brewery that isn't only beer. They have some top notch draft root beer for those under 21. Would recommend for anyone looking for a brew and a quick bite.
The fish and chips are to die for!!! Huge fillets, very juicy and tender cod!
I like Tommy knocker and go there often. I enjoy most of their beers, love their wings and they haven't moved away from their core which seems to happen as restaurants become popular. The staff is local and friendly. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is many times the bar has a sour smell, probably from the casts that sit behind it and there is no way their buffalo burgers are 100% buffalo. If they're 50% I'd be shocked.
Beer is great. Food is okay. I am especially upset that they recently changed their menu. We have driven over an hour more than once to get their wings (we also tell everyone they have the best wings we have ever had). We drove there this past weekend and to our disappointment, they changed the wings! They are nothing like they were - we would not order them again. This is upsetting, especially as so many of the reviews on Yelp mention how good the wings are. I am sure many are/will be disappointed as well.
Unfortunately, I don't think we will be making the drive to go here any time soon, though the beer is good, it is not that good.
Decent beer and food. Friendly staff. Plenty of under tent outdoor seating to accommodate distancing.
Cool place, great vibe. Did mot wat here but got a sampler.
Cool atmosphere & history wait staff wasn't very friendly
A must experience stop when in Idaho Springs. Covid-19 era has rendered service to be somewhat shoddy.
Great Service. Good food. Went late in the evening.
Second time rafting with you guys and your great, the family and I had a blast, Caleb is a great guide and a lot of fun...
The best Rueben. Awesome French dip. Jalapeno poppers.....yum. Great beers and ciders on tap. Always excellent and friendly service when we sit at the bar.
Great bison burgers and burrito, and pretty tasty red and green chilis too! Fish n' chips is also well done. Beer is variable: drinkable, and there is always something pretty good, but nothing particularly noteworthy. Go for the food, and the beer pairs well enough.
Great beer. Went during lunch hour on a Saturday. It was pretty busy. But we found spots at the bar right away. Minus one star because french onion soup is my favorite, but theirs had an extra ingredient or two which made it taste "off" to me. I havent spent much time in Idaho Springs (mostly just for fuel pit stops on my way into the mountains), but I would gladly make a trip back for this brewery.
Go here every time we're in the area. Great food and beer.
Love this brewery. The beer is delicious, and the food was so good. Best brewery in Idaho Springs. It was a bit chilly out, and the warm fireplace inside made it warm and inviting.
So good! My favorite place to stop coming back east along 70 after some adventure in the mountains.
Everything and everyone but John the waiter, for table 29 (On Sunday September, 27th at 4:30 pm) was amazing !
