Such great friendly service and fantastic gourmet food selection!
It is always a great place for a quick snack, bite or full meal. The wine selection is fantastic. House wine that does not break your bank account. I love to go there.
There's a lot of lore about New York deli's and Todaro's is one of the few family run businesses that still is left. And what a gem it is.
From their simply delicious sandwiches made on nice chewy french breads, to their excellent potato salad, to-die-for buttermilk fried chicken, and their prime quality meats... there's a lot here to EAT!
My personal favorite are their salads. The leftovers from their expansive cheese section end up in the salad. So not only are you eating a 'goat cheese salad'. You're eating such a salad with a really amazing dollop of any of their varieties of goat cheese. Also did I mention the cheese guy there is NUTS (but in a good way?) I've never heard a man talk about cheese in such a loving way. Ask him a question sometime... :-)
Todaro's was a great place and staple of the community, providing delicious Italian food at affordable prices. I used to go after 9pm, when the sandwiches would be marked half off. As they close their doors tonight, I will miss Todaro's tasty food and friendly staff. Not enough places like Todaro's!
Great prices, their Pesto was amazing :)
I had the Tortellini - it worked perfectly.
Yes I would go here again - they have a great menu!
I like the vegetable focus compared to other Italian restaurants I've been to
:)
A neighborhood institution. Best salumeria around. Now serves great Italian food and drink. Quiet, quaint, fabulous.
Family operated Italian deli, grocery, and enoteca; the most authentic you'll find.
Really good sandwiches, abit pricey, but done right.
Nice place. Kind of feels like eating at someone's house.
Great little restaurant tucked inside an Italian food store. There was only one server when we were then on a Sunday at lunchtime, but he was knowledgeable and friendly, and the food arrived in reasonable time.
The crab burger is highly recommended, although the waffles are clearly not a speciality here and were quite underwhelming, even the kids didn t enjoy them. That being said, waffles in an enoteca are never a smart idea.
Fantastic wine list and a few tap beers too.
Sadly, they're closing on April 2, 2019. We're so sad to see them go...
First time I sat down for lunch in their cafe, very few other guests. Service was attentive without being overbearing, food was excellent (which I knew from taking out sandwiches in the past) price was reasonable for lunch in the area.
Great local Italian grocery with a quiant eatery tucked inside. Nice for lunch, dinner or a drink and you can pick a dessert from the store and eat it in.
I have no idea how this has such high ratings. We ate here for lunch and it was one of the worst meals I have ever had in New York. The service was horrible and the food was cold. I complained and the waitress did not seem equipped to respond to a dissatisfied customer. The owner was actually in the dining room but also seemed disinterested in their customers dining experiences. 1 star is too generous for this experience.
Old Time Italian salumeria. Small but packed with high quality items.
A good italian market with a variety of meats & cheese, the cafe is great for lunch or when you need a break
Todaro bar is always amazing experience. Food is authentic Italian, very tasty and affordable! Not to mention they have the best sangria in town for only $4!!!
One of my favorite places to shop and eat. Delicious!
Their coffee is good! It's like a mainstay in the area being around for so long. Very good selections of prepared foods!
And now they have a cafe and bar. Menu limited but open air dining and nice easy going service makes it worthwhile before a movie.
Had a great evening with great service and tasty food
Great for what it is...a local neighborhood haunt serving what it sells.
It is a cute Italian grocery store near NYU Hospital. The best part about this little market is their deli sandwiches. They have great cold cut and cheese and their sandwiches are fresh and huge.
They also have a daily special, which is a steal for usually $6.
They also have these hot food sections during lunch hours and price is pretty fair.
I want to try their Italian coffee next time!
Probably one of my favorite places in the city. Great options including authentic Italian brands and excellent to go food too. The people who work there are also very helpful and kind. Tasty and pleasant experience!
Good food nice atmosphere in a small space. Only 1 server so food took a while to come out but nice guy. Recommend.
Secluded small restaurant within the main store - excellent menu and service, very quiet and intimate in atmosphere. And the store is a gem.
If you're looking for top notch and fresh cheese, Italian cold cuts, fresh meat or just great bread this is the place to go. Staff is super attentive and helpful.
I shop here weekly and always find a variety of fresh prepared foods, salads, cheeses, breads and desserts so why cook?!!
We usually have a meal weekly at their cozy cafe and enjoyed this food establishment for 30 years!!
The staff are very courteous and helpful always! Please stop in and enjoy one of our favorite neighborhood places to savor great food!! Family owned and operated and we believe in patronizing family establishments.
Most delicious kale salad I've ever tasted!! They don't have it everyday, so when they do-- jump on it!
I come here almost every day for fresh grocery. A very nice small store that gives you a local feel. The staffs are nice and some of them are great people to be around.
The food is pricy and the portions are below expectations. The staff is careless and not-courteous
I haven't been to the store itself but a recent Fooda popup was extremely disappointing. The food was lukewarm, portions were small, and ingredients were missing.
This place is a must! The food is very tasteful and you cannot beat the happy hour....prices are great! The service was good and they are very friendly and cooperative! Also a great place to shop for Italian delicacies.
Great old world market is your go to destination for the freshest Italian specialty meats and cheeses. Or the absolutely freshest Brie on this side of the Atlantic.
Good place for a varisty of cheeses and fresh produce. Also offers heatable soups and entrees.
Great selection of Italian groceries.. like the restaurant too
Very shocking! I went with my son today for a lunch and I am sure we will never come back. We were sitted and waiting to order when The waitress told us to leave our seat for an other spot in order for her to accommodate other customers who came while after us. It s not a JOKE. We felt insulted and plus the manager did nothing to solve the issue. He seemed not concerned at all. We left very disappointed that we were treated like nothing. My son and I were thinking may be it was due to our origine??
This place is just amazing. They have fresh food here and variety of different things.
I went to the meat counter on a quiet afternoon looking for some cold cuts that I liked in Italy. The deli counter couldn't have been less helpful. I was also looking for good pecorino but they only had grated pecorino. My mom started going to Todaro in 1957 when she moved to New York from Rome. I've between going for years but I just can't recommend them anymore.
Awesome service. Small but very personal. Love, love their fascinating array of cheeses, absolutely heavenly. Their cakes are also pretty exceptional too. I usually buy fresh bagels and freshly made cream cheese on Friday evening, for breakfast on Saturday. Yum !
Had egg, cheese, prosc. breakfast sandwich on hero. Great!
