Excellent stop on a nice summer day for a guinness or four. Very good service, cool ambiance and atmosphere, and perhaps some of the best people-watching in Canada. I think we had some snacks, and if I recall they were delicious.

Great place in downtown Kingston for a point near the water. There was a pretty awful karaoke happening in another side of the bar but hey can you couldn't really hear unless you went over there. Seemed like a student bar on one side and the a more mature crowd in the other. Nice place. Nice service.

We had an excellent meal on the patio this evening, complimented with a suggestion of cider from Jessica, the manager. She, and Tiffany, our server, were great fun and very attentive. The service was excellent and the food was amazing! Can't wait to go back.

Did not have a great experience. Came as a group of four for dinner and drinks. Took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. A table of eleven sat down after we arrived and server took their food orders before our. Had to go else where for food or we would have been there all night judging by how slow the service was even before this big group put their order in. Very disappointed with this experience.

brightside by the foofighters. But we have been waiting for service for the past 30 minutes sitting on the lower side behind the bar. Pretty brutal service

The place is great, food is great, I would give 5 stars for that. I'm giving 1 star for the Karaoke organization. If you look for a karaoke to sing wonderfully, as professional singers, that is your place, but if you want to come with friends and have fun, even if you are not a greater singer, that is not your night for sure. They have too many rules, and are not flexible at all. They don't explain the rules before hand. I didn't have a good experience there yesterday. I went to stage just to support a friend, didn't almost sing, just went because he asked support. Then the next song was, unfortunately mine, the organizing guy came to me and said I could not sing, as I couldn't go twice in a roll, so I left. But my other friend didn't know how to sing neither, so she left as well and my third friend was alone, so I jumped back. The organization guy was being rude in the mic while we were singing. I understand there are rules, but in my point of view Karaoke is also about supporting your friends, having fun. I was responding to the moment, being spontaneous, and most of all, helping my friend. The organization guy could have given us an option to jump our song and call someone else. I would never go back there again for karaoke and bring friends.

Wonderful lunch. Sat outside on the outdoor patio. Beautiful old building, The Prince George Hotel, with friendly staff. Excellent food and drink menu. Conveniently located in the downtown core, near the tourist information centre and the shoreline.

Went to this bar with a couple of friends during blues fest. Bar was busy but not overly crowded, and there were at least 3 bartenders and at least 5 waitresses. Tables were a mess, waited at the bar for to long to get a drink as we were there for over 30 min with nobody taking our order. Second attempt to get a our table a drink from the bar was a little more successful only made 2 drink order mistakes out of 6 drinks. After payment a huff was heard, saying that i know i could tip.

Rude staff

Really quaint Irish pub. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was superb! This was a great find and I would recommend Tir Nan Og to anyone who appreciates Irish food and drink.

Been here a few times, and potentially just on nights they're understaffed so I would like to give the benefit of a doubt here.
However, I find the service to be quite slow, which can be frustrating as well the table still has not been cleaned of previous guests garbage and we have been here an hour now.
Great location, good food, but can be pretty poor on the service end.

I went here October 2019 with a friend from out of town. This was a place we always went while in Kingston. I was very disappointed to see things have gone down hill.
No one to seat us - we seated ourselves after standing around for 10 minutes (and they were not busy)
Staff were more concerned with conversations among themselves than serving us.
The food was okay -but lacked taste. I had an item off their special menu and it stated spices but there was little to no flavour.
I am sorry to say we will not be visiting again.

Went on Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday. They made our poor server wait on a table of 15+ by herself. Service was horrible... my one friend waited so long for his beer, he went up to the bar and bought one. Another friend order two apps, afterwards while waiting decided to drive his car home and cab back... did all that and by the time he got back to the Tir, the food still wasn't delivered to the table yet. Our server made another friend pay for a drink she didn't even order. I ordered a side salad with the spinach dip, which the chips were stale and there was barely a serving of both there, the dip seemed burnt & was super hot but didn't seem it and burnt the top of my mouth so much, it blistered and is still hurting. The food was alright, the drinks were good but it would take 20 mins or so just to get one. Our server was way too overwhelmed and couldn't handle a big table and the manager would help a bit but not enough or didn't send another server to start assisting. The place was busy enough but they clearly didn't have enough staff to hold the fort down properly. Probably wont bother with another visit, especially if there's a big group/ table cause they clearly can't handle or know how to serve a big group accordingly.

I have not been in the Tir Nan Og in ages, and never for lunch. So when a buddy (himself in the restaurant business) suggested we meet here for lunch I was intrigued. The place was not at all busy, which I guess is the norm this time of year, but people are missing out on a great downtown restaurant. Our server Frankie was on top of her game, the menu was varied and interesting, and the ambience is great. Food arrived quickly and hot, and both of us really enjoyed our meals. I had the amazing lamb burger, and he had fish and chips. Definitely a winner!

Service was good, really friendly staff, nice atmosphere, decent prices. I can't really say anything overly positive about the food though, it was just okay. A bit bland, the fries were all small little nibs and in small portion. I'm sure it's a great place to come have a couple drinks, but I wouldn't be incredibly excited to come back.

An old style pub in downtown Kingston. I have been on several occasions. They have a good selection of beer and the food is alright. I would go more for the food and entertainment as opposed to the food. In close proximity to three of the main hotels downtown so easy to walk to if you don't have a car. On the night attended the staff working were a little weak but have been there on previous occasions when I have had great service. Will attend again on my next trip.

Went there on Friday night, September 18th, with my wife and some relatives from out of town. The band, and I use the term loosely wouldn't know talent if it hit them in the face. Some guy up rapping that sounded like a dog had been hit by a car. This in an Irish Bar, mind you. Final straw, went to the men's room and there are two guys in the stall together, either doing the George Michael, or something which I really didn't care to find out. I left and asked to speak to the manager.

I was greeted by a woman who couldn't have been a day over 25. I knew right away my complaint was going nowhere. The doorman, who I believe knew one of the guys in the stall wasn't more than three feet away during my entire conversation with the manager. I've been visiting that bar longer than any of them were born, and honestly I was disgusted with the entire visit. Bar service was slow, one of the girls behind the bar seemed more inclined to cheer on the band than serve paying customers. The computers went down, and two in our party were waiting for drinks. We were told very rudely by the barman that the system went down and they would get to us, yet other persons at the bar, who hadn't been waiting as long for drinks were readily being served.

All in all a terrible experience, and I was embarrassed to bring our out of town relatives there. Too bad, it used to be a great place for live entertainment. Personally I'll avoid it like the plague in the future. It's a disgrace to the former PG.

Service poor, food almost burnt and and what wasn't over done was pretty mediocre . Too bad as we have had better experiences here in the past but the last 2 visits have been disappointing. Won't be back as there are too many really good pubs and restaurants in Kingston to waste another evening/ meal at Tir nan nog.
