Always had a good time and have been going there since it's inception!
Amazing venue that continues to improve and grow. Some of the biggest names have played here over the years.
Famous New Orleans Landmark. Let the good times roll!
Super cool blues club, old school vibe. Great place to see a show.
We rented out the mezzanine for a private event (the night before our wedding) and then paid for our guests to stay for the concert in a VIP area. Such a cool, unique and authentic experience and a totally unforgettable night for us and our family and friends. Nancy & Mary were great to work with in planning the event and working within our budget, and the caterer they brought in for the food was awesome - shrimp and grits, po'boys, a bananas foster firing station, a beignet bar, just to name a few. Our guests were raving about the food and even asking if they could get some the recipes afterward. Bonerama was the headliner that night and they were incredible! Love Tipitina's!
Mediocre establishment by every definition of the word.
Attended a show last night and was greeted with a Chinese fire drill of an entrance; there were three lines, but the two smallest ones were for both entry AND re-entry. God forbid you try to skip the line of people buying tickets and walk up the middle pathway to the exact same girl checking wristbands...
Furthermore, there was absolutely NOWHERE to sit. No chairs or stools. Hell, even a bench attached to the wall would suffice.
My final qualm with this nightmare of a venue are the staff. I'm not sure if these guys (Literally all grown dudes except for like 3) have IV drips of THC, but to say they were a spaced out would be a massive understatement.
For instance: Walked in and beelined to the bar. Ordered two drinks from a bald guy that was socially retarded. Sat there with drinks in hand, wallet in the other, waiting for a price. Continued to stare at us in a bewildering manner. Finally managed to knock him out of his daze and get that cleared up. Second guy I encountered had a similar characteristic of partial autism. "Hey buddy, how are ya today?" Preceded to also stare, mouth dropped, and a very weak "hey" was all he could muster in return.
Had a better time out on the sidewalk. Avoid at all costs if you have any concept of decent service, sitting, and not paying a $14 cover.
Nothing better, not a bar but a foundation of heritage that supports future music , lucky to be a part of it even in a small way
Great intimate live music venue. Casual, friendly staff, inexpensive drinks that aren't tiny. Sound system is decent.
Thanks again for all the way down there now and I will be there for sure and I will be there for sure hambone the scripture Scrappy with a hamburger doodle shot
Cool place. Historic music joint. They had a $15 cover the night I was there. If you are staying in uptown it's a good choice for live music.
bartender are kickazz!! venue has amazing sound and the stage is close enough to reach out!!!
Great place to see some of the best music in New Orleans. Best to take a cab if you're coming from the Quarter. There's no place to sit and it's kind of a dive, but you'll alwzys see a good show.
So happy to announce that Galactic has bought Tipitinas! They are currently in the process of molding this iconic venue into a completely new live music experience for New Orleans... The world! There are no words that can express how deserving these guys are for this next chapter in their book of life that is this city we live in, the city of saints. #galacticfunk #tiptinas #neworleans
Saw an excellent show here and venue was great too.
One of the many great historic places to visit in New Orleans, went to a few shows here and it did not disappoint! Generally a fantastic music line up!
Saw Cowboy Mouth show. Great show. Awesome venue to watch live local music. Can't go wrong here.
Awesome live music venue!! Great spot to see the stage from any angle!
Slow, but good. Only one person working there and no bathroom use.
One of the best spots in Nola for a great time. This is a MUST DO!!
Great crowd never been inside but check out frencheeze food truck every Friday from 11pm to 2am. Best sliders, grilled cheese and fries. Wouldn't be new Orleans if you didn't try the dirty south slider. Come out and figure out exactly what it is lol. Just know that's what you taste buds need and have ever wanted lol.
an old school venue with multiple bars, a stage, and dancing space(standing room only) but it attracts music's finest and upholds its status as a New Orleans institution
No frills. Just lots of drink options & incredible musicians.
This iconic concert venue in Uptown is a must see for everyone visiting NOLA. The best musicians in the country perform here. Tips has great sound and a welcoming staff. It's where locals and visitors mingle to grab a drink and get their groove on. See ya there.
I've seen any number of shows here, and loved every single one. The atmosphere, acoustics, and flavor are second to none.
great venue.... parked across the street and a drunk driver slammed into the back of my car while I was sitting in it.... messed my whole life up
it's a dirty, hot, crowded club with great music. blah.
They allow way too many people in, which I am pretty sure is a fire hazard and violation. Also, the people attending the concerts talk the entire time. Why would you pay so much money for a ticket and not listen to the music? It makes no sense. Will not go back. It is not enjoyable at all.
I love to attend events here. It's always fun. Nice drinks 2
Come here every time I'm in town for the music. Great place!
Shares the history and the soul of our city.
And as a woman I always feel safe inside.
Saw Pennywise and anti flag there, great acoustics, atmosphere, and history. I highly recommend checking it out if you like live music
One of the most loved venues in town. I wish I could go more often
Bruce Daigrepont avec michael doucet band played and was great.
We had a blast at Tipitina's for a great country show. Pretty low attendance, but it only added to the intimacy. Staff was very friendly and crowd was amazingly attentive, as remarked by the performers. Wonderful!
Rudest bartender I've ever come across. Kinda looked like John Goodman in Big Lebowski, but with less charm and self-control.
It's Nu Awlins y'all. It's Professor Longhair. Live Music for every taste. Local bands n national acts as well as international music. Just chk out the great vibe on any night.
Great, live music venue. New Orleans history. Great vibe.
Saw Robert Earl Keen here. Reminded me of being in Texas.
So lucky to live by this world renowned music venue! Every weekend there's amazing music!
It must have been a off night. The location is a somewhat out of the way. It was $21 cover for 4 bands. They were good but not great. Very people were there.
Best music venue of its size in the area, hands down.
Legendary NOLA venue a must visit if you love music on any level. Anyone who is anyone in New Orleans has played Tipitinas over the years and now (as of this week) owned by the guys from Galactic means it is 100% locally owned and operated.
One of my favorites! I always try to catch a show while in NOLA
Spacious venue, drinks aren't super expensive. Multiple bars to get a drink from, all while keeping one tab open. The sound engineer did a great job.
Great venue to see any band. Bar staff is awesome, the acoustic is fabulous. Clean bathrooms.
This is a great music venue with great drink prices. I would definitely like to go again.
Fantastic place to see a show. They do a lot for the community too.
A classic New Orleans music joint. But door folks and bartenders always seem to have an attitude. My 75 year old father and I went to see a show on Sunday and they refused to provide a chair or stool for him to sit on at the back, even though the place was half empty.
I love this music venue, it embodies the spirit of this neighborhood.
Amazing music, New Brass Band & Hot 8 was amazzzzing! Great history as well
Excellent sound system, excellent acts, and a more than friendly staff waiting upon the eager audiences looking. forward to enjoying themselves while the music flows as fast as the drinks!! If you're looking for a New Orleans evening you either won't forget or remember for that matter then Tip's is and or should be on your list of destinations/places to see, listen, and experience!!
They book awesome bands, but don t count on catching a glimpse of the band unless you get to the venue very early! Definitely not set up for a big crowd.
sacred ground fer 'Fess fans. had'a lay hands onna Professor LongHair sculpture inside n now I'm whole. owned by members o Galactic now, keep the vibe inna musicians family, I say.
