Regerts for choosing this company they don't explain first time home buyer options and incentives. The loan officer will never get back in contact with you. They are difficult to deal with and show poor business ethics. I have perfect credit and had options on leaders. Regrets is I wish I went with another more professional company for my first home and first experience. They make the process difficult. Home buying is major and should be taken serious with a company that respects you.

Joe McMeans was the best during our home buying experience. As first time home buyers, my boyfriend and I knew nothing about buying a house or financing. Joe answered all of our questions, and then some we didn't even know to ask. Joe was always available to talk when we needed him, and he is extremely quick to reply with cost sheets and estimates when we needed them. When we were buying, the market was insane and homes were flying off the market in just a few hours, so it was extremely important to quickly get all the facts in front of us, and make our best offer. With Joe we were able to do this and get our beautiful home. I would highly recommend Joe McMeans, and Tidewater Mortgage, to any home buyer.

While attempting to secure a VA loan for a new home purchase, my realtor suggested using Tidewater Mortgage and Angela Sebree. Things started off wonderfully, and my husband was preapproved for more than the amount we needed for the home we chose. Everything was going well, and we were ready to lock at 3.78% with just my husband on the loan, and then Angela said she could get the interest rate lower if I was added. So, we started the process again with me added.

This is where EVERYTHING turned on it s head. Not only was Angela not able to lower the interest rate, it was HIGHER even with us BUYING multiple points, which we could not afford to do. Communication became sparse and multiple credit checks were run on both of us, impacting our credit. We finally gave up and called the original mortgage company, Veteran s First, that we were going to use, and with just my husband on the loan, he locked us right there on the phone at 2.89% without us buying any points at all. Even though it took a lot of juggling and pushed our closing back a week, we switched on the spot.

Once we switched, our new mortgage company found a LOT of personal documents that the VA requires for a basic preapproval that Ms. Sebree had not acquired, leaving me to wonder how we had gotten as far as we reportedly had in the process, or if we had been lied to about how our loan had progressed.

The level of unprofessionalism shown left a horrible taste in my mouth about Tidewater Mortgage. Please consider your choice of mortgage company strongly, especially if you re going for a VA loan.

Kevin Gorman at Tidewater Mortgage lead me through what can only be described as a whirlwind of paperwork and anxiousness of the unknown. He accomplished this with patience and professionalism. We felt as if Kevin cared as much as we did about securing the loan on our very first home. We would highly recommend him to anyone. You won't find anyone better to walk you through a very difficult process.

The entire process was handled professionally, and efficiently. The experience with Tidewater Mortgage could not have been better. Lorinda James handled everything in a timely manner and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Addionally, we saw no negative impact from the current Covid19 crisis.

Steve did an excellent job of taking care of us throughout the loan process. He answered lots of questions before we ever began the process and guided us throughout. Prior to closing, he went over every piece of paper that we signed at closing so that we knew what it was and why we were signing. He was very patient and organized throughout the process. Maureen is the most knowledgeable, kindest, God fearing woman I have ever met in this industry. I did not feel pressured or taken advantage of through out this entire process like I did buying and selling houses in the past. She was up front and honest about everything and gave great advice about how to improve my credit score. Just great advice about life in general and what service are available to us being veterans. She helped my credit score jump 60 points In just 6 months. She s so AMAZING. I highly recommend her services and I am very pleased to have met and work with her.

They were fast, managed to close within 28 days. However it required a lot of hand holding from my side to follow up and get basic information, ensure documents were sent to the correct locations and people, and was not prepared for questions along the way.
