Very good hotel that is super close to the city center (about 10 minutes by the tube). It even has a swimming pool, which opens early in the morning so that you can enjoy it before the breakfast :)
Breakfast was good, fresh food, coffee, juice, croissants and everything else you need.
Angel or Old Street metro station is just 5-8 minutes walk from the hotel.
You can also find a lot of nice restaurants and bars within a walking distance, as well as shopping center, grocery stores etc.

Great location to transport links. Has high quality facilities. I went here for a conference and the food was very tasty, staff efficient and high spec finish. Worth a stay as central to London.

Room extremely small, no air conditioning and window didn't open. Noise travels between rooms. Have stayed here before in main building but the rooms in the other tower are extremely basic. Nice view of a room being renovated from my window. I didn't get stabbed though so that's a plus

A great place to stay. It was close to two underground stations which meant getting to the places we wanted to visit. It was also close to Kings Cross which was really helpful for our arrivals and departures. Breakfast was buffet style and gluten free was available as well as non dairy. I would happily stay there again and thoroughly recommend it.

The worst hotel I have been in recently. Rooms dingy, full of fungus and mold, windows barely open, next to the beds there are no sockets, no parking lot, no furniture in the room destroyed and badly worn out. The situation is minimally saved only by service and a tasty breakfast with a large selection ..

It was ok, friendly staff and good check in experience. Room small but adequate, a bit tired. Would not come with children as people coming home all hours of the night, think more of a hen/stag or night out type place. Hotel pool very nice but small, leisure member of staff was lovely, he couldn't be more helpful.

I come in Thistle a lot. Minor thing is that even if your a regular client, people change over soo fast, so if you build connection with people working you always have to start iver again. Nevertheless, for its category they always find a way to treat their guests good and they want to give someone good service.

Huge Hotel with nice and friendly staff. Room was a country mile from reception and difficult to find. Basic would be the best description for the room. Very very noisy side streets below my room, windows that don't close properly didn't help with the noise. Breakfast was average considering the room rate.

Very nice hotel It has a good restaurant, it eats rich and at reasonable prices. It has a very complete gym, and a pool plus sauna and jacuzzi. I recommend it. It is close to the London city.

Generally a good place to stay, some rooms are becoming a little bit worn and dated in design. It has a very good breakfast buffet and the service is good. I was slightly disappointed on my recent visit whilst using the pool and other facilities as the steam room and jacuzzi were not working. It needs some modernisation and it's also difficult to locate some of the rooms due to poor signage.

bit dirty and tatty, desk was chipped and glasses were covered in fingerprints and soap was still in the soap dish. staff were lovely though and and free safe and wifi a good bonus. spa was nice but showers let it down

This hotel is getting old now and some areas have had a facelift. The bar and restaurant area is fabulous but some of the rooms are a bit dated and some are downright shabby. But... All in all its a good place to stay if you are visiting the City, Islington, Hoxton or Shoreditch areas of London.

To put is simple, the hall and the ground floor looks like a 5 stars hotel, the rooms (the basic ones at least) like a 2 stars one. A positive note: Manuela, the receptionist, was very kind and friendly.

The rooms are a bit worn off. Check in was slow. No flexibility in recieving the invoice before leaving. ImPossible to pay for breakfast for 3 people in one. Swimmingpool is Nice but not so long. Beds are comfortabel.

It's inexpensive, so one shouldn't expect much. Even with that, the walls are very thin -- as in "I can hear you shuffling paper and now your snoring is keeping me awake" thin. Wall surfaces and doors and trim in halls are in desperate need of refurb. But minimal upkeep is what keeps the price down.

Nice staff. We do appreciate Mollie's welcome and her colleagues.
Nice rooms but I would get more broadcast British TV. We also have a little problem. We were a couple and until the last day we didn't get two towels (one for each). Even so, nice gym, swimming pool and restaurants. Def, no regrets!

Hotel staff are nice and helpful. Rooms are neat though not all. I asked for a transfer, because in the first potion the shower looked terribly neglected. Luckily, there were no problems with the transfer. Breakfasts are large, so everyone should find something for themselves.

The rooms are not very young, the toilets a bit capricious but the whole staff is considerate and welcoming. The breakfasts are very different and varied! Comfortable bedding. A 5 minutes walk 205 and 73 that go directly to the center and 10 minutes from the Old Street metro, it's ideal!

A little dated but for the age of the hotel it was expected. Bed was lovely and comfortable actually had a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was dissapointing but Im not a fan of the full English, my daughter told me the scrambled egg and bacon was not good!
Wifi available although very spotty, staff very friendly and helpful.
Nearest tube in my opinion is Oxford St on the Northern line although we did arrive via Barbican.
Would I stay again, YES definately just perhaps skip breakfast.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, got to our room, called down to the desk requesting a larger room, offered to pay for an upgrade, and we were moved to a more spacious room free of charge.
Ordered room service, and the food was reasonable and very good. Clean friendly reasonable, what more could you want?

We arrived at the Hotel in the morning after previously calling to see whether we were allowed to drop our bags off until check in, in which we was. However after that, once arriving at the hotel at our check in time (2:00pm), we were told that check in was delayed until two hours later (4:00pm). It had meant that anything we had planned we had to reschedule and it was a bit of a hassle. Furthermore, upon arriving in our room which was meant to be a two single bed and rollaway bed room, we had noticed that there was no roll away bed. We contacted reception and tried to sort it out, but it wasn't until we then later went out if the hotel that they had noticed we still didn't have it. On the night the stay was mediocre, music could be heard clearly on the streets, and the single glazed windows didn't help with dampening the sound. It was a suprise that they were not double glazed. The layout for our bathroom was poorly designed, and the toilet paper was a long stretch away from the toilet. However, i can say that the breakfast in the morning was lovely, and even though there were small things like not enough plates or milk for the teas, it was nice. To conclude, I would not return to the hotel if I was give n the option too.

Great breakfast, good wifi, nice gym (although open only from 6:30 am to 9 pm) - proper weights are already available. Some rooms are rather small (e.g. you cannot open wardrobe, because its doors are hitting the bed).
