While the theatre itself may be a beautiful little place, especially with its two smaller partners, the main house suffers from one monstrous atrocity: it's prices. Quite frankly, the extortionate ticket costs will not only leave you empty-handed, they will leave you disappointed at what you get for your money.

Old theatre with character.we visited bath and booked to see the cat and the canary very last minute.partly because I wanted to see brit ekland who was staring in the play.well she didn't disappoint she was brilliant made my night.play was really good too was like a murder mystery.a bit jumpy at times when you didn't expect it which was good.would of liked a selfie with brit but she had be feeling unwell a couple of days before would of been rude to hastle her.but all in all was well worth the visit.

Such a lovely old theatre with a lot of character. The outside is misleading as when you get inside it is huge. Massive legroom in most seating positions that I could see. The show wasn't bad either. Staff were really lovely and attended to my every need.

Beautiful little Theatre, almost cosy! Comfortable seating, decent leg room and great shows. I love coming here with friends, especially enjoy the matinees where we meet up for lunch in Bath first or enjoy a bit of shopping. Makes for a lovely day out.

A SMALL theatre, but lots of charm and character. Friendly staff and lots of interesting productions through the year. Very worth a visit even sitting in the cheap seats.

Watch out for a few seats with some limited visibility, and the box seats look like fun.

A great place to experience theatre, good acoustics, friendly staff and a really nice ambiance.
The seating can be a bit cramped and access along the rows not easy, but the plus side is you can be really close to the stage and even at the rear of the stalls you are closer than in many west end top price seats.
There is a restaurant and bars for pre-theatre food and drinks in subterranean surroundings (the old vaults), while these places have a great atmosphere they are totally impractical for disabled guests as all involve steps with no lifts - yes I know the age and style of the building is a limitation but I would think at least one of the areas would be accessible?

Excellent.

Lovely old theatre in a nice part of Bath. Surrounded by resteraunts serving pre theatre meals. The Royal itself is compact and cosy with a great view of the stage. It's like having a private viewing and our interval drinks came in a icebucket and flutes which was a nice touch.

Bath's Theatre Royal may look unassuming on approach but once inside you will find a splendid auditorium with floor (stall) seating, royal boxes, and a balcony. Intimate enough that there really aren't any bad seats. The Peter Pan show I saw was a pantomime production and very entertaining. Getting a Pimm's during intermission was an added bonus. This venue is within easy walking distance of central Bath so skip the taxi and enjoy the walk.

Excellent pantomime with plenty of laughs and audience participation. First class performances by the cast of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Superb old theatre which underwent extensive renovation a few years ago. New comfy seating with good legroom. Highly recommended.

Grand old theatre, I believe one of the oldest in the UK. It has 3 auditoria so various things going on there. It has been done up awhile ago, so smart inside. Bookings can easily be made in advance by phone or internet. Only downfall is that it does not have it's own parking facilities, and disabled access is limited.

Theatre Royal Bath is a lovely traditional theatre with a varied and very entertaining programme (usually) changing weekly. Comfortable seats, clear views. Smallish venue. Bars with good range of drinks. Restaurants nearby. Seating plan shows any seats with restricted view. Reasonable prices. Rocky Horror Picture Show was brilliant. Well recommended.

I've been to the Theatre Royal several times in the past and have enjoyed each experience, but I am pretty disgusted by the customer service. We had tickets for my mother's birthday for the matinee of 'The Importance of Being Ernest' tomorrow, but because of the snow we won't be able to make it as we live fairly rurally and the roads are extremely dangerous. When I called to inquire about an exchange, as stated on their website, I was informed that it was for 'The Winslow Boy' next week or nothing. Not only are we not available to go to Bath next week, but it doesn't state on the website that you only have the option of the following week's production. I entirely understand that refunds aren't possible, which is quite specifically stated in the T&Cs when you buy tickets, but I find do find it incredibly mean that the choice in this circumstance is a production that we are unable to attend because of the weather or a production that we are unable to attend because of prior commitments. Unpleasant customer service, and no room for any kind of change in circumstance when you book tickets - my mother was really looking forward to spending her birthday at the theatre, but the entire experience has been ruined as there was no option for booking into something further in the future that she could have enjoyed instead. Heartless.

Lovely theatre, just as you might expect in beautiful Bath. Good views even from the top circle. It's probably quite small as older theatres go but a great space for watching Ballet Rambert.

A beautiful old theatre in the centre of Bath.

A beautiful old theatre in the centre of Bath.
Professional productions with star names; mainly plays on tour, having been in (or on their way to) the West End in London.
Very limited street parking nearby but good public car parks a short walk away.

Took my girlfriend here for her 30th birthday treat.
We saw Fiddler on the Roof, on the opening night and it was absolutely superb. I was fortunate enough to get front row seats in the Royal Circle and they were well worth the little extra money.

We drank prossecco and ate jelly babies while resisting the urge to clap and sing along!

It's the best performance we have seen in a long time!
