Theaterhotel Almelo Review

Tapas were pretty good. Service was good. Nothing too fancy, but solid price/quality.

Welcoming with a good restaurant and good coffee bar in the lounge. The facilities were unfortunately a bit dirty, but the new rooms with comfortable beds make up for it. Note that these new rooms are in an impractical wing; There is only one lift for both guests and staff and you always have to go through the lounge if you want to have breakfast or relax.

Tips: In the new luxury rooms, the beds have different firmness and stay far away from the connected tapas bar (quality of the products is very poor).

Very very good hotel. Were there around the Christmas period, despite the crowds, very friendly staff and everything arranged well. Clean rooms and good service. Highly recommended !

Van der valk unworthy hotel, got standard room without air conditioning while it was 27 gr Celsius, room with filthy carpet, cigarette butts on the floor, got after complaint upgrade to room with air conditioning, broken TV, broken shower head, towels were forgotten, keycard does not work daily, coffeemachine without instructions, decayed Wellness, broken toilets empathyless reception management who does not want to apologize

I cannot say much about the rooms, for example, given that I had a gala where the service was not great

Great hotel! Only downside, if you want to eat it must be in the lobby which we found very busy. Safari room is recommended.

We have visited the Theaterhotel for a Guus Meeuwis theater concert.
The concert was great, but everything around it was also perfectly arranged. The restaurants belonging to the hotel, we have visited the Tapaz restaurant, are absolutely fine !!

Very nice place to stay, meet or eat. Has a nice ambiance. Staff is well-educated and does not hesitate to help if you need anything else to make you experience better. Everything is also very clean and shiny.

Top stay. Not only is it a nice hotel but also very practical. The hotel is within walking distance of the center where there is always something to do. There is also plenty of recreation in the hotel itself such as the swimming pool. The swimming pool and steam room are very clean and the access is easy and free. The food in the hotel is very tasty, from sandwiches to restaurant level and a wide choice at breakfast. The Theaterhotel team is very friendly and counts on YOU to relax.

Here we had a room with a Jacuzzi on a balcony, room was small by Valk standards, no comfortable seating and little cupboard space. Hotel was fine, good reception and friendly staff, good breakfast. Dinner in the restaurant was also good, although the menu was rather limited. The location right in the center is also nice, also as a starting point for bicycle tours. Overall great hotel, only because of the room 4 stars for me. The jacuzi on the balcony was also delicious!

Had a lot of nuisance from nightly drinks in another room. Halfway through the 2nd night I moved to another room, but then the night's sleep is already gone for the 2nd time. The hotel is noisy. The execution of the rooms with a hard floor and without felt under the furniture is wrong economy. I was aware of every chair move during the night drink. My entire weekend was ruined due to lack of sleep. Positives: The food was excellent and great pool.

We have dinner in the restaurant. It was affordable and yet high quality. The dishes were surprising and creative. Highly recommended!

Furnished and really in need of a major renovation. Van der valk is always very modern and then your image is not right when you come here.

We recently accommodated various people in the Theaterhotel because of an exchange project from the court in Almelo. These people were particularly impressed by the hospitality of this truly beautifully situated hotel right in the center of Almelo!

A beautiful hotel, great rooms and super nice staff! Here we come back very happy.

We had dinner here with 2 people, we waited more than half an hour before we were helped and then more than half an hour before we could eat, The food was fine but no one came to ask if it tasted and if we had enough and had to ring the bell to be able to count and count .. finally we got the bill but the plates and everything were still on the table. Moreover, my husband had a dirty wine glass.
We have eaten many times at v.d.Valk but this fell completely outside the "prices"
We hope for the guests after us that this will be improved in the future.

Very nice atmosphere. Food in the society was excellent. Also the operation.

Worst service ever from a vd valk restaurant. With children's menu they forget the soup so come to bring main course. Then you have to ask twice for the children's ice cream from the menu. After our starter, we have to wait a long time for the main course, and then suddenly someone is at the table asking if we want to see the dessert menu. That was the brasserie. Tried the restaurant the next day. Again have to ask not to forget the soup at the children's menu. We had already finished our starter. Then a children's soup came, which was more than enough for an adult. Extremely long wait for main course. The food was nice by the way. Dessert again long wait. And asked a children's dessert not to get whipped cream. What do you think. A dessert with lots of whipped cream. Table next to and behind us there also went a lot wrong. Credit card given for authorization. So that I don't always have to take my wallet. That also went wrong, had to do it again. At check out our grandson forgot his bear (70 cm in size) called room was already clean but no bear seen. Strange bear of 70 cm. Asked if I could leave my telephone number when the bear would be found. No that was not possible. Called next day. Beer was still missing. Calling again the next day and then it was found and we were able to pick it up. All in all where easy to do when it can be difficult.

It's nice. Wish the A/C worked better. Beer is a little over priced also.

Beautiful hotel! Good atmosphere, very nice and extensive breakfast. Everything best ... delicious cocktails from Johnny in the bar !!!

The rooms are nice and the restaurant is top notch. Service is available for the people with questions or problems.

+/- reasonably eaten in the evening
- free parking too small (no place to drive without damage to the rims) and no lift
- the luxury room with whirlpool and climate control (369) was not clean (dirty carpet, bedside tables, table, bathroom floor, bed linen), smells musty and is very impersonal and uncomfortable (expected more of a theater theme) now decorated in new part but now very dated. Also strange that there is nothing hanging on the walls. A really uncanny feeling in this room. Mattresses have also had their day. We really had doubts about packing up and driving home at the beginning of the night.

- theater: the performance was beautiful but the reception and referral to the seat was missing and very unclear. The place for wheelchair users was uninviting, cold and musty. A kind of loft at the back of the room without lighting. You have to find your place by touch. Not a very nice environment for a night out. A real shame. It should be noted that a drink was offered during the break.

Because of the atmosphere in the hotel and the combination with the theater, we would come again for a night out, but we will skip an overnight stay the next time.

Large room with large bathroom and very quiet. The underground parking in front of the hotel entrance is very outdated and tight. The mattresses were very soft and worn. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Good breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice.

Had a wonderful overnight stay at the Theaterhotel! Everything was clean, reception staff were helpful and food (both breakfast at the hotel and dinner at Dock19, restaurant affiliated with the hotel) was top notch. Small disadvantage that there was nowhere to be found about the climate control, this kept it pretty fresh in the room and there was a hum to hear and a pity that no tea could be made in the room.

A nice hotel friendly staff the breakfast and dinner were great !! The hotel has a nice location in the center and has a nice parking garage. The rooms were neat and with a nice big balcony We were here for the second time and again enjoyed it. This hotel is definitely recommended !!!

Very good hotel with an ideal location in Almelo. On the one hand it goes directly into the pedestrian zone and on the other you are quickly in the green. We were warmly welcomed and the entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. From freshly squeezed orange juice to coffee, bread and rolls, scrambled eggs, omelets, fresh fruit, cold cuts, salads, yoghurt makers, honey fresh from the honeycomb, etc. Simply top. The connected restaurants are also worth a visit. We particularly liked Dock 19. We more than enjoyed the weekend in the hotel.

Beautiful hotel and good and nice staff food was romantic in the room made it complete the jacuzzi was well on temperature really worth repeating especially when everything is back to normal

Poor information, soap in the bathroom, room is disappointing. Pool maintenance. Expensive for what you get.

A very nice and good hotel in Almelo. Parking for 5 euros a day is very cheap compared to other places in the Netherlands. Dinner in various hotel restaurants (tapas bar all you can eat and Dock 19 Steaks & More) was a dream, the breakfast was also very tasty. We liked it very much. Gladly again :)

Great hotel, unfortunately not so much to the company nearby, but great restaurant. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Only a toilet brush alone you miss: D
