Nice atmosphere, decent food, lousy service. Waiters running around everywhere but none of them interested in answering menu questions, taking drink orders, checking in to see how the food was. The atmosphere is neat. The food was fine (nothing great but not bad). However, I would not return based on the service.

One of the nicer places to go to for afternoon tea, although I've had breakfast there number of times, chill atmosphere and nice fab deserts.
Smoked salmon is also fab and this is the only place that I try a fish sandwich! It was beyond my expectation!

An institution. And by far the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had (and I had quite a few)... very attentive and professional staff living up to the expectations one could have for such a historic place. Thank you Wolseley Team!

Although I booked a table three or four days ago, they made me wait more than a quarter of an hour at reception

It s overrated and so expensive

The decors very good

The food isn't distinctive taste it's just plain

I had breakfast, so I don't know what lunch and dinner level is

The English equivalent of a posh TGI Friday, there are open 8am to midnight, have a small menu which never changes.. It's a beautiful setting, the staff are nice but it's not a real restaurant... A beautiful setting but the food tastes like this tis the millionth time the chefs had cooked it... Which is probably true, on a side note, the doorperson spends all her time on her phone, so just get the door yourself

Enjoyed an amazing afternoon tea at The Wolseley. All of the staff were extremely gracious and attentive. This was our first tea experience and the staff did not hesitate to explain things well and described each sandwich, pastry, and scone along with the various tea options. We loved the Afternoon Blend and the Caramel tea. It is quite a lot to eat and we declined their offers for complimentary replinishments. We were not ready for dinner for quite some time. It is not an inexpensive experience, but it is well worth it and I am so glad I stumbled across their option for Afternoon Tea. The building is stunning.

My boyfriend and I had the afternoon tea and it was not good. I would say the food was fine. I made a reservation the night before and was really excited to Wehave high tea while visiting London. We were seated immediately, which was nice, but it was all downhill from there. We decided to split the afternoon tea and each get our own pot. I ask for the carmel tea, but the waitress doesn't seem to understand. I point to it on the menu and she nods. Then when the tea comes it is chamomile. I decide to be polite and not demand a new pot. The food was boring and bland. Sandwiches were practically tasteless. The desserts were fine but we only got three. The scones were good. Staff was fine.
I live in a rural area full of hicks hnd farmers and we have a better local tea place than this overpriced hotel does.

It's a beautiful building and it's a beautiful restaurant. That's where my compliments end. I don't have anything good to say about this restaurant. Hapless staff who think they are too good to be serving. Out of a group of four I had ordered a soup as a starter. There was a spoon on my table setting. The waiter had to ask who was having the soup! Normally, I would find this hilarious, but given the attitude of the staff which started right at the front door, I found it obnoxious. They need to drop the attitude. Their menu from the past also needs to catch-up with the 21st century. It's expensive for not the best quality food. The above-mentioned soup was salty to the point of being inedible. Sorry! This is London. We have far too many options to put up with nonsense!

My oysters were not properly shucked! They were all still attached to the shell. They were delicious, though. The restaurant was noisy with tonnes of hen parties. I paid more for my food at this brassiere than I did at a world-famous Michelin-starred restaurant in Smithfield on St John Street. I wouldn't visit again.

Went for afternoon tea. To be honest, it's not as special as I was expecting. Incredibly busy and no atmosphere. You're cramped in also. We had booked a table but when we arrived we had to wait around 10 minutes for it, which I wouldn't have minded if there was somewhere for us to wait rather than standing at the entrance. There were quite a few people waiting so was crowded.
The waitress looked puzzled when I asked her if she could hang up my coat. For the price of everything, you would expect 5* service, but I'm afraid to say it wasn't. I can recommend much better places for afternoon tea in London that really make it an experience rather than just at a restaurant

Really special place to visit while in London. Step back in time in these grand surroundings with classically set tables and uniformed staff. Nice to see black jacket and stripes still being worn. Excellent, beautifully prepared and presented meals and attentive service.

The food is very good, but it's really all about the experience. Lovely old-school, French-style restaurant with fancy service and a beautiful interior. Worthwhile experience if you don't mind shelling out a few extra pounds for it.

Horrible service!

Horrible service!

Called ahead to reserve a table for breakfast, and was told that they where fully booked but they accepts walk-ins , arrived and was told the wait would be up to 30 min (fine by me, I don't mind waiting for quality).

After a while we where shown to our table seated right next to the entrance, (horrible location but okay, still optimistic), the staff then keept accepting people for walk-ins and the bar got full and the entrance packed, we then had to spend the next 20 min fighting off waiting guests that kept sitting down at our table (they where thinking it was a waiting area I guess,) after 20 min with no attention from staff (except when they where yelling to each other across our table!!)

You will get a better service at McDonald's

Beautiful deco but food and service is average. As a fairly well know establishment trying to maximise profit, they put the tables so close together that you are almost sharing conversation with the next table.

Been waited outside for more than 30 minutes despite reservation. If you cannot handle the number of customers, don t accept it. Very irritating. PS. However, they gave us complimentary glass of champagne and apologised for the delay. So my initial one star is now changed to three.

Lunchtime was very busy and waited a good 15mins before being asked for drinks. These then took a further 20mins to reach the table (mainly as they had to change the beer barrel). The food was average, nothing out of this world but very expensive just because of the location. The waiter was a trainee and very nice, he made the experience a little more delightful. On the whole I wouldn't recommend.

I guess for an old car show room and an ex bank, you would naturally have higher expectations of a restaurant. You will not be disappointed. There is an air of past grandeur, but no new car smell or teller clerks behind imposing desks. You do however get the sound of PDQ machines being punched as you will for sure exceed your , touch-less Amex limit, and you will see the odd limos or Uber dropping off outside.

The welcome and service is impeccable, the table cloths starched and the food equally professional.

If you can organise your diary app to remind you to book for 3 weeks time, go and eat from the all day menu.

Next book The NED in Bank, and see larger brother of the Wolseley.

We did afternoon tea at the Woosley and it was okay. The food was decent, but either they were extremely busy or just didn't give us much attention. We ordered tea services for four and received tea service for one. We had to ask about the others.once we received our tea trays the food was good enough. It was very noisy and busy. Probably would not pick for tea again.

Absolutely wonderful, we had the lovely room at the top for a colleague's 60th birthday. Divine afternoon tea, great sandwiches and the most wonderful lemon meringue eclair. Well looked after and they provided very up market doggy bags.

About The Wolseley

The Wolseley is a café-restaurant located in the heart of Mayfair, on London’s iconic Piccadilly. It is one of the most popular dining destinations in the city, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and weekend brunch. The restaurant has a rich history and has been an integral part of London’s social scene for over 100 years.

The Wolseley was originally built as a car showroom for Wolseley Motors in 1921. In 2003 it was transformed into a café-restaurant by restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King. The duo had previously owned some of London’s most successful restaurants including The Ivy and Le Caprice.

The restaurant's interior is grand and opulent with high ceilings, marble pillars, chandeliers and art deco features. It exudes an old-world charm that transports diners back to the glamourous era of the 1920s.

One of the highlights at The Wolseley is their breakfast menu which includes classic dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Kedgeree and Full English Breakfast. They also offer lighter options such as fruit salad or granola for those who prefer something healthier.

For lunch or dinner guests can choose from a range of European-inspired dishes including steak tartare, Wiener Schnitzel or grilled sea bass with fennel puree. Vegetarians are also well catered for with options such as roasted butternut squash risotto or wild mushroom tagliatelle.

Afternoon tea at The Wolseley is an experience not to be missed. Served on tiered cake stands it includes finger sandwiches filled with smoked salmon or cucumber & cream cheese; freshly baked scones served with clotted cream & jam; and an array of delicate pastries & cakes.

Weekend brunch at The Wolseley is another popular option where guests can indulge in dishes such as blueberry pancakes with maple syrup; avocado toast with poached eggs; or smoked salmon bagels served with cream cheese & capers.

In addition to its food offerings, The Wolseley also boasts an impressive wine list featuring wines from around the world including France, Italy and Australia. They also have a selection of cocktails which are perfect for pre-dinner drinks or after-work gatherings.

Overall, dining at The Wolseley is more than just eating out - it's an experience that combines great food with impeccable service in stunning surroundings steeped in history. Whether you're looking for breakfast before work; lunch during your shopping trip on Oxford Street; afternoon tea after visiting Buckingham Palace; dinner before heading to the theatre; or weekend brunch catching up with friends - there's something for everyone at this iconic London institution!
