The staff aren t very friendly but the food is incredible. Delicious coffee, gooey cheesy omelette and crispy pancakes. Fantastic.

The bar area was nice, but the food was overrated (too salty) and staff were like flies buzzing about unecessarily refilling water and wine. Quite noisy too. Not a great experience at all really.

Very disappointed. Doorman was very polite on entering and leaving. As we got in however, I was very annoyed from the off as numerous staff were running around and a number of staff where at the front desk completely oblivious to the fact that three guests had just entered. My party of three stood there for several minutes before we even got an acknowledgement. When we did, it was a very unwelcoming with an attitude laiden 'can I help you'. Before even being seated... 'we need the table back for 8(pm)'....we had booked for 6 but due to road closures, arrived at 6.30. We did however call in advance to advise.

Service at the table was on a par with a high street chain restaurant, so not very attentive at all. Staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming... The whole place felt very much like a conveyor..... Get them in get them out. We had gone a few minutes over 8pm when TWO members of staff (most attention received since arriving) approach our table to 'remind' us that the table was needed back.

As for the food...was enjoyed by all but nothing special. The service and approach to table turnaround was more than enough to ensure that I will not return....several better options available in this area.

It certainly remains an interesting architectural building, with marble pillars and archways, however as a restaurant, the quality was disappointing. The quality has dropped over time, perhaps since they realised that their name is enough to be successful.

The salad tomatoes tasted of nothing, luckily the salty capers gave flavour. The burger bread was dry and burnt. The Millefeuille was really dry. The only flavourful dish was the Pomme Frites, maybe because quite salty.
The room was crowded.
All in all I d give 2 stars, just for the iconic building.

Superb service, warm friendly welcome. Glass of water immediately as it was 34 degrees outside. Made extra special as it was a birthday occasion. We were greeted with happy birthday and an extra cake saying happy birthday. Just lovely. The quality of the food was very impressive...honestly the best afternoon tea we have had in some time and very reasonable too. Highly recommend!

Arrived on time for our reservation. Told to wait in the bar for 10 mins. Finally seated 25 minutes after our reservation time - not even a hint of an apology.

The service was appalling for the rest of the evening. Eg. wait staff happy to stand and have a chat with each other, but not pour any wine - which they hadn t left on the table. Or take an order.

Overall the food was very good and no complaints for that aspect. That s what got it two stars.

I ve eaten here quite a few times before, so I know how good it can be. This was not one of those times.

The atmosphere is filled with elegance and a sense of grandeur however disappointingly the service and the food were not of the same vein. Our escargot and selection of seafood ( fruits de Mer ) was average with one of the shells being More

Cool and busy place. At times not very attentiv service. So a bit to busy for staff to deliver basic service level. You pay for the location more than the quality of food an definately service level.

terrible service. Even with a reservation and you are on time, they say you have go eat within 1 1/3 hours. Starts bad, oysters not done properly... ends worse. 5 different waiters that came and then 20 minutes trying to get their attention for actually paying.

if your wondering if they lost the tradition and class. totally. But the best part, they don't adjust your incorrect bill....

Overall, quite a middling culinary experience. We came here seeking the quality of food that we found at the Delaunay (owned by the same restaurant group) but were left wanting. The food was average at best - about after you'd find at a cafe rouge - albeit at a much higher price. I had a fairly good chicken soup and a 'fish of the day' seabream fillet on a bed of undercooked chickpeas (a bold choice by the chef). My partner had scallops and the Coq au vins, and spoke favourably about both despite the first entree having been received cold. The service bounced back and forth between indifference and overly touchy-ness (both my partner and I received gentle touches to the arm and back from different waiters) - which I honestly wasn't expecting when I came here for dinner. I don't feel particularly compelled to return or recommend the Wolseley to others. I'm a bit confused if anything.

The place to go for a special breakfast in glamorous surroundings. The friendly Scottish waiter who attended us really made us feel welcome. Before arriving I was worried it might be quite snooty but our waiter put us at ease. Efficient and friendly service that is hard to come by in other places. I felt very relaxed in there and the food was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be going back.

Very lovely setting, highly professional staff, well-prepared no-frills food. The space itself may be the main draw, but the food doesn't disappoint as long as you think bistro rather than haute cuisine. Deservedly a firm favourite with many.

Either my standards have raised or The Wolseley's ...

Either my standards have raised or The Wolseley's have dropped a bit. Bar staff, all well standardly both good and expensive margarita served efficiently. I like to think the role of a bar man in these places is as much a host keeping the customer occupied while his date turns up. This was just "efficient".

Table, all good... They looked confused about how to set our table. I assured them we didn't bite and putting the food anywhere would do.

Starters, 6 tasty prawns and a cocktail sauce (had a fancier name then this) and myself 6 Oysters, went for the Irish Dungananangnanagan ones. And they were a bit emaciated and a bit pathetic to be honest. Borough Market has the most delicious oysters for the third of the price. I wonder why you wouldn't just go with Market best.

Actually got a bit bored of writing this.. To summarise, attention to detail seemed to be lacking. From a spoon here, to a napkin there, a reminder of this... Dunno food was good, wine was good. But service a little functional, and not so functional they remembered everything.

We go to the Wolseley for breakfast from time to time. It's a busy and popular brasserie and it's best to book though they do keep some tables for people to walk in. Don't have the hot chocolate if you prefer the Italian or Spanish type as it's served very weak and milky but it's possible to ask for the milk to be served separately which is better. Try the kedgeree and enjoy the surroundings and ambience.

Enjoyed a typical English high tea. Where some places feel like a tourist trap or will squeeze you in a tight spot this is the real thing. Next to the Ritz between the fashionable London locals you can enjoy a great and balanced high tea. Fresh and inline with a great British tradition in a beautiful atmosphere of an deluxe car showroom of old days. Skip Harrods and go here!

Has a really lovely, old school, glamorous feel to it and the food I had was delicious. Its very popular so one needs to book ahead to get a seat in the main room. Only downside is the acoustics - it's pretty noisy in there!

With beautiful interiors and great service, The Wolseley is a brilliant place for breakfast.

The Smoked Haddock Kedgeree is recommended for something unique, whilst the eggs benny are a good reliable option.

Lovely surroundings and staff as ever. But strudel very disappointing-hard pastry with undercooked filling. The alcohol flavoured cream was not pleasant - custard would have been better and more authentic. Need to up your game for these prices, starting with learning how to make proper strudel pastry

Nice introduction for british tea culture. We went for afternoon tea, and I wanted to introduce the british tea culture to my friends. And it was quite satisfying.

The scone and tea combi was quite fabulous! The scones are very soft and go extremely well with the tea.
But the cakes and sandwiches on the other plates could be better.

The staffs were very friendly and responded very quickly.
The atmosphere was good and elegant. It was a bit crowded though.
The price was affordable for a 2-3 university students party.

Anyway, I would come back again later.

High end but unpretentious. My kind of place. The service was incredible and a nice atmosphere where people were truly enjoying their afternoon tea. I got the full afternoon tea and I told them I was vegetarian and they totally accommodated my needs. They made me special sandwiches without any fuss and it was delicious. Reservations for afternoon tea can be made pretty last minute so I recommend it, Especially if you can't get into Ritz.

We came here for the dinner.
The food and service are extremely perfect and valuable.
Personally suggest the flat iron steak and pork chop. The chicken soup is great to try as well.
The meat is soft and delicious which taste really good.
I will come for afternoon tea next time.

About The Wolseley

The Wolseley is a café-restaurant located in the heart of Mayfair, on London’s iconic Piccadilly. It is one of the most popular dining destinations in the city, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and weekend brunch. The restaurant has a rich history and has been an integral part of London’s social scene for over 100 years.

The Wolseley was originally built as a car showroom for Wolseley Motors in 1921. In 2003 it was transformed into a café-restaurant by restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King. The duo had previously owned some of London’s most successful restaurants including The Ivy and Le Caprice.

The restaurant's interior is grand and opulent with high ceilings, marble pillars, chandeliers and art deco features. It exudes an old-world charm that transports diners back to the glamourous era of the 1920s.

One of the highlights at The Wolseley is their breakfast menu which includes classic dishes such as Eggs Benedict, Kedgeree and Full English Breakfast. They also offer lighter options such as fruit salad or granola for those who prefer something healthier.

For lunch or dinner guests can choose from a range of European-inspired dishes including steak tartare, Wiener Schnitzel or grilled sea bass with fennel puree. Vegetarians are also well catered for with options such as roasted butternut squash risotto or wild mushroom tagliatelle.

Afternoon tea at The Wolseley is an experience not to be missed. Served on tiered cake stands it includes finger sandwiches filled with smoked salmon or cucumber & cream cheese; freshly baked scones served with clotted cream & jam; and an array of delicate pastries & cakes.

Weekend brunch at The Wolseley is another popular option where guests can indulge in dishes such as blueberry pancakes with maple syrup; avocado toast with poached eggs; or smoked salmon bagels served with cream cheese & capers.

In addition to its food offerings, The Wolseley also boasts an impressive wine list featuring wines from around the world including France, Italy and Australia. They also have a selection of cocktails which are perfect for pre-dinner drinks or after-work gatherings.

Overall, dining at The Wolseley is more than just eating out - it's an experience that combines great food with impeccable service in stunning surroundings steeped in history. Whether you're looking for breakfast before work; lunch during your shopping trip on Oxford Street; afternoon tea after visiting Buckingham Palace; dinner before heading to the theatre; or weekend brunch catching up with friends - there's something for everyone at this iconic London institution!
