This is a beautiful old theater. The balcony is steep so there really isn't a bad place in the house. You will get robbed when you buy a beer or glass of wine, but that is true of every theater in Boston. Acoustics are good.

Well organised of crowds for getting in. Seats are very cozily arranged and rather uncomfortable. They have a full service bar but it's expensive and they don't offer many cocktails, couldn't make a Cosmo and what they did make was weak.

This theater is a gem of Boston I just wish the employees kept it cleaner. The bathrooms and bars are a bit small for the venue but otherwise everything is amazing. The theater is breathtaking when you walk in and there is not a bad seat in the house. I went to see Joey Diaz and even though I was in the upper balcony I still felt like I was right there. I will continue to go see shows here.

Went to the Wilber for the 1st time the other night for that Gavin DEgraw show. What a beautiful theater. Small and intimate but very well maintained. Seats could be more spacious. The staff were excellent.

A great night out in an old school theater. More atmosphere than a class M planet. Parking is close, plentiful, and expensive. Convenient T station might be your better bet. Proffesional and experienced staff.

Went to see Bob Saget here in April of 2019 had seats in the back of the balcony but the view was fantastic. The staff members I interacted with were professional and polite and parking and food was easy to obtain. I can't wait to come back to the Wilbur

Great ambience, and there really is no bad seat in the house. Beautifully maintained. If you're on the taller side or have a bad back, I would highly recommend sitting in the floor seating - because of the age of the venue, the seating is more cramped than one would hope when seated in the mezzanine or balconies; again, the seating is well-maintained, it's just smaller due to the antiquity of the venue.

We'll be back next year!

The band was excellent, the sound was good and the staff was experienced. What I disliked was how cramped the entire theater is, considering it's overall size. The seats would fit children fine, but if you're over 5'5" then prepare to be squished the entire time. Besides being physically uncomfortable, it was acceptable.

Great place but the seating is designed for 12 year old girls to sit comfortably. Seating too small, too close and too steep. Not sure where the folks with disabilities are supposed to sit - or how they would get there!

Saw the ISLEY BROTHERS in concert! Theater was FREEZING! After all, Boston in mid-January? What else should I expect? Theater is OLD but the Isley Brother's music NEVER grows old! I NEVER took my coat or gloves off! LOVED the concert!

Performing Art Theater, a place to make memories, seeing your fav artists, comedians perform. Listening them, laughing at them and with them. What a place.
However, Wilbur seems to be focused on one thing:$$. The place is old, it s fine to keep architecture, not upgrade, but can be wooed in removing stains etc.
We went to see a show. From TicketMaster we could visualize our seats, but can t image just next to a bar. The seats on aisle I should not have been there. All the people on that seat should get money back. Forget the foot traffic of patrols/public, everyone needs to relieve, waiters constantly walking, the people behind the bar don t care about the noise they are making or the distracting light that constantly hit the eye. Bringing out garbage right during peek of the show. i can go on and on. I was less focused on what i paid money to hear the person on stage. But more about what on earth manager/management were thinking when they made this type of seating arrangement!! Dismal.

I went to an event on October 27th. No one was allowed to enter the theater until 5PM, so the vestibule area in the front became really, really crowded quickly. Overcrowded, really. Despite being one of the first groups there and checked in, we ended up in the middle of the mob to enter. Minimal organization. The seats in section B (VIP) were much more crowded than I was expecting - like an airplane. I say this as a petite female. People were practically sitting on top of one another, sideways. The drinks were way overpriced. We lined up to take pictures with the guests afterwards, and security kept yelling at everyone - this seemed really unnecessary. We were "behaving" and were respectfully waiting. No one was really stepping out of line. The constant yelling for no reason kinda ruined the atmosphere a little bit. For many, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet these guests.

Overall, the experience was "meh", considering the cost of the tickets. If I ever went to this venue again, I would just get the cheaper balcony seats. The people up there looked much more comfortable.

I brought tickets to the event and had assigned seating. When I got to my seat it was taken and I couldn't even tell where my seat was because there was a bunch of people. The funny thing is you can literally tell almost every one isn't in there assigned seat. Why? Because I notice when new people came looking for their seat everyone seating would literally look at that person just so they won't have to go through the eembarrsment of that person telling them to get up. What's really sad was nobody assisted in helping find your your seat. I sat down in someone's seat and eventually someone came and told me I was in their seat
I explained the situation and that person was cordial about the whole thing and ended up seating in better seat ahead of me lol.

The only place to see certain mid-draw acts in Boston. The staff are friendly, but the seating on the floor is nuts. We paid $45 each for tiny chairs crammed so close together that we were practically sitting in our neighbors' laps. Worse, the seats faced perpendicular to the stage with not enough room to turn them around. Drinks are outrageously priced, so grab your glass of wine before or after the event.

Avoid the floor seats unless you really love the act you're going to see.

Beautiful old building yet easy to navigate. There is a parking structure one building over to the right (if you're facing the Wilbur from the street). For these kinds of venues, the drinks are very expensive, unsurprisingly. The stairs on the balcony seating are steep, so watch your step; not much room to move up there either. Despite this, the view was perfect, even behind a tall person. Highly recommend going tho the Wilbur if there's a show you want to see; it will definitely not be the Wilbur's fault if it sucks.

If you have the option of either seeing your favor...

If you have the option of either seeing your favorite artist at The Wilbur or at another venue that might be 500 or more miles away, take the road trip, trust me, it'll be worth it to avoid this theater. Floor seats are tiny, uncomfortable and cramped together. I was in section C and the person next to me was sitting on half of my seat most of the show. At one point a heater on the wall came on overheating the whole section. Before the show began we were told no flash photography, no video, what they didn't mention was that only cellphone cameras can be used. They would be better off not allowing cameras at all, and making that policy clear when people purchase tickets. As it is they harass audience members who are taking photos "you can't use that camera" "are you taking video" "hold your phone lower" etc, etc while leaning over and in front of too many people to count to whisper the questions. Meanwhile those audience members in seats that are harder to reach can film most of the show with no issues. I was seeing an artist who hasn't toured in 5 years and instead of being able to enjoy the show I paid to see I had to deal with people enforcing nonsense rules put out by an establishment that seems to only be in business to sell alcohol to as many people as possible. Just avoid this theater at all costs.

I have been here twice for comedy shows...they were great. I was there last night for the winery dogs and I would beg people not to go there to see a concert. It was the worst sounding concert. It has to be the venue because I have seen the dogs in another venue and it sounded great. I would recommend the house of blues 100 times over before I would this place. Security seemed nonexistant. Didn't buy any drinks. Obviously you can't pick the place you want to see a band but again I would say unless you have no other choice DO NOT GO HERE

Gets great acts but I cannot emphasize strongly enough to NOT SIT ON THE FLOOR LEVEL! Sit Balcony or Mezzanine. The Orchestra/floor seating is all small chairs that are uncomfortable at best and an outright fire hazard at worst. From my seat for Craig Ferguson, I had a fence/barrier in front and on my right, and my neighbors chair digging into my thigh on the left. Had there have been an emergency or had I needed to leave mid show, it would have been completely impossible. I couldn't physically move in any direction. Add on that the uncomfortable barstool seat, and it made it impossible for me to enjoy the seat, plus knowing that as a tall person, the people behind me (on exactly the same level) made me feel guilty the entire night.
