The food was not great. We ate it but only because we were hungry. I had the roast pork loin was so tough it could have been used to make medieval shoes. The gravy was nice but the rest was very mediocre. My fiance had the sea bass and scallops risotto. The sea bass was underwhelming and under seasoned and had horrible soggy skin. The risotto was more like a bland rice pudding with peas and had none of the richness you'd expect. We won't be returning.

Very good value. Good menu choices, good friendly service. Lovely surroundings, inside and outside. Smashing garden, quiet, well kept. Can't fault the cooks, presentation, staff and prices. Will definitely recommend it to others and will return again.

We had a late lunch here today and it was lovely. The food was excellent. Both myself, my mother and my children all had different meals they were delicious. So much so we're planning another lunch at the end of the month.
The staff were all cheerful and polite. The atmosphere for 2.30 on a Saturday was very quiet and relaxed.
Thank you

Dropped by with the family on a Saturday afternoon for a quiet drink after a walk along the Basingstoke canal. Waterwitch is a charming pub in a country/village setting with friendly and helpful staff. Seeing our younger children the waitress let us know that some of the lads from the Odiham barracks had booked a table for early evening and that they could be a bit boisterous. Glad to see that the staff showed care for families and we were able to make an appropriate decision. Good going.

First time I ve been in this pub and the menu is very poor, and the only thing that caught my eye in the menu was lasagne and they didn t have any .... the price is well over priced in this pub i was gonna get up and leave but everyone I was with was hesitating to stay in this pub as it was already too late to eat and didn t want to have to find somewhere else to eat, I ordered x2 steaks for me and my partner asked for them to be well done so they get brought out both to our table and they were undercooked and bloody/ pink and very fatty I will never dine here again and I also think they should make thier menus more exciting

Awful experience. 2 hour wait and when the food arrived it was burnt. Other customers were complaining and yet the staff were still taking orders.
Will never go there again and will let as many people know how dreadful the Waterwitch is.

Pulled in to the Waterwitch on the way back from Basingstoke this evening. Got a table last minute near the bar at the front of the pub. Very good food and friendly service. Pub looked great and felt really festive.

Food and service were good. It is years since we have been here so it was a bit disappointed to note changes to the garden. I guess in the need for safety it is no longer possible to get to the canal from the garden and no play equipment. We made use of the Galleon Marina and took 3 year old granddaughter for her first row on the canal.

Had. Sunday lunch here and it was very busy. We had booked a table as we were a large group and sent meal choices a few days before.
We had table service for drinks etc and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Good amount of parking too.
We were able to pay off each meal separately at the bar which made it a lot easier. Will definitely visit again.

Very busy and no staff which made the visit unpleasant, long queue for drinks at the bar and food was about an hour from ordering. food was ok ish nothing to special.
Probably an off day staff quite miserable.

Its a very pleasant scenic location for food and drink. Staff were extreamy polite and helpful and made a real effort to put our needs first. Some of the exterior seating could be moved or levelled as the ground is not flat and some of the tables rock. My meal came out with food missing but the syaff quickly rectified the problem and every aspect of the food was brilliant. One of the pricier places to eat but you definitly get what you pay for. Thanks for a lovely lunch.

Disappointing range of drinks and food.

Disappointing range of drinks and food.

Can only order through an app from your table, unfortunately the app payment system is partial broken.

Does not use its frontage to the canal to its best advantage and has reduced opening times at weekends, missing out on alot of passing trade.

The brewery needs to give the landlord/landlady freedom to make changes to the pub.

I visited this pub late afternoon after a long muddy walk with my dogs. I found the team to be very accomodating and the interior and environment to be very relaxing and rustic but modern. Will definitely be visiting again. The Valentine's Day menu is very appealing and competitive.

We visited once the the pubs were allowed to reopen and I was disappointed that we were not asked for our phone numbers (to track & trace). Also one member of staff obviously didn't know how to wear a mask. The pub had toilets outside in a porta cabin, not sure I would go back

Nice pub restaurant with a large garden. Although it's by the canal you can't really see it. Food is good but standard pub grub. The menu is smaller than at The Hatch (same chain and about 15 miles drive away).

A bit overrated.

A bit overrated.
Chicken, avacado and bacon salad arrived work out bacon and bread. The steak was very very tough (poor supplier?). Lovely location, but below average food. Odiham has better.

Having been to this pub many times over the years I was somewhat disappointed tonight when at 6.45pm was told I could not book a table as food was no longer being served! No explanation given by the female who appeared behind the bar and seemed somewhat put out that we were there at all! Seriously not impressed and yes this attitude has put us off going back!
