My favorite brunch spot. Its usually pretty busy but my wait has never been more than 5 minutes. Fast service, great food, good price.

Awesome breakfast place, can occasionally have a very long wait.
We went to this place after a friend recommended their pancakes. Even though I was told that the pancakes are 'huge', I didn't realize how big the pancakes were until they were served. Believe me, two adults can easily enjoy one plate of their pancakes. They make them fresh, serve them with fruits and maple syrup. If you are ever in Bloomington, go to this place. Authentic American breakfast menu (and they serve the 'breakfast' all day long). There is a lunch and dinner menu as well.
We also ordered a breakfast burrito. It was served with cheddar cheese and french fries. The burrito, I am told, is also a local favourite. One bite of this burrito and you will know why it is so popular. Eggs inside the burrito were cooker perfectly. So were the fries (not too salty and cooked to be crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside). The serving was a generous one that we shared (along with a huge plate of pancakes).
This place is also cost efficient. We paid US $20 (including tip) in total for two plates full of delicious food for 2 people. The staff was polite but a bit slow. There is outdoor seating available as well.
Overall a good place to get some delicious food. So long as I am in Bloomington I plan to enjoy this place, and certainly would keep coming back.
Slightly boring. Great location, though. Exactly what you would expect, nothing more, nothing less.
Excellant service and food. A place so good you just just have to come back. And, I will next time in Bloomington!
Disappointed, food seemed to be half-hearted (canned salsa & fried tortilla on huevos tasted of OLD fryer grease that obviously had had meat cooked in it,) filthy coffee cup.... I could go on.
My introduction to the Village Deli was on a busy Saturday morning with lots of students and their parents trying to get a seat and whispering about the pancakes. Although the Deli was packed, we didn't wait long for a table or for a friendly server. My son and I split an omelette and a pancake and I can tell you that what I had at the Village Deli rivalled any "Pancake House" you can name.
Thanks Village Deli!
Decent breakfast, but how hard is it to mess up breakfast. Has a trendy crowd of IU students. Went there today at 11:30 to eat lunch but was told they weren't doing lunch. Huh? It says "deli" right there in the name. The chalkboard with the specials even said they had a tenderloin and chicken noodle soup for the day. Their website advertises lunch as well. So I ate a good omelet. The service was good, and the prices were comparable to other breakfast joints.
Good coffee; good, huge breakfast meals (try the burrito); good service; crushed ice.
Breakfast Saturday morning.
30 minutes for a table. Thats ok. We were warned. The wait after seating was soooo long (45 min). I had the spinach scramble. The egg was scorched, dry and way flatter than their pancakes. The mix ins were tossed in as an afterthought. Potatoes were dry and mealy. The toast was still bread. The Mexican burrito was drowning in sour cream and the veggies were only at one end. The pancakes were fine. Not in a hurry for a return trip.
Terrible service for my muslim brothers no turkey meat. The rest was ok
Good sandwiches and breakfasts. Long waits weekend mornings.
I'm told by my son that this place has the best breakfast in town (Bloomington)!
