This is my first visit. It'll be my last. It's Mother's day, so of course people were packing into this place. Unfortunately, the staff are made up of no one older than 23, and clearly they were overwhelmed by the crowding. We were told a 20-30 minute wait. It took an hour! Next I witnessed poor planning, dropping menus on the floor and putting them on the table with out wiping them off! Then a young lady dropped some of our silverware and put them on our table I immediately called her out on this, telling her that is unacceptable and unprofessional, she removed them and disappeared for the remainder of our visit. Upon opening our silverware we discovered several pieces were still dirty with food The food, wasn't anything to brag about! It 10:30am when we arrived, it was 1pm when we exited. I won't be back.

Breakfast served all day. Sausage gravy is wonderful & very peppery. Staff is very friendly. Carryout available. Full order of biscuits & gravy plus 2 eggs: $7.45 + tax. Decent size portions. Hoosier scramble is veey good. Will be busy morning after big party nights. Just a good popular Bloomington diner downtown.

I don t usually do reviews but my experience here was awful. The manager at the time I had went was very rude and disrespectful. I had trouble finding what I needed online for a carryout order, therefore I asked for some assistance. He gave me zero guidance of where the item would be only all of our menu is online . I was obviously missing something, yet he refused to help direct me to where it was. He also refused to take my order in person even though I was standing right there. I finally asked again and he rolled his eyes and agreed to just take my order in person. He directed me to wait across the street for social distancing purposes (totally understandable) while I wait for 20 minutes for my order. I waited 30 minutes in the cold and finally asked about my order and a different girl said I needed to come inside for carryout orders rather than wait outside. The rules were very inconsistent and the last thing I wanted was to be a problem. This restaurant staff does not handle stress well at all. The inconsistency of my visit was aggravating and the food was cold. I am a 21 year old women and have never had problems at any other Bloomington restaurants. Disrespect is never appropriate especially not in a work setting and especially not in a leadership position. I was very disappointed & do hope that the manager isn t always so arrogant to everyone he speaks with. Horrible experience.

Bloomington Institution. Has a very good breakfast, and famous for their pancakes. They have outdoor seating, and are very dog friendly. Even cut up the dogs pancake and put it in a bowl for our dog. They do close early, 6pm, and they also get very crowed, especially on the weekends, so make sure to show up early.

Came in for breakfast again on a busy Sunday morning, and was impressed as usual. Super, super friendly staff, and good at their jobs, too. Despite a small line we were seated in less than ten minutes, and had our food probably not even ten minutes later, and it was all really tasty. There's a reason this place is a town staple.

Doesn't open until 8 am on Saturdays so had to wait awhile for it to open . Haven't been in years and was good. Salsas were homemade and spicy. Omlette was huge. Wish they had hit tea that wasn't just hot water and a tea bag but otherwise good breakfast and excellent service.

I can t believe I didn t find this place sooner and I ve been living in Bloomington for four years now. Their breakfast is truly the best in town and their fresh squeezed orange juice is a god send! SO GOOD. This is an eat quick and get out kind of place, so don t come in with high expectations of taking your dearest, sweet time. This is America, not Italy.

Was recommended by several people who frequently visit Bloomington, so we finally stopped in for breakfast.

Awesome experience and great food. Had the lemon poppy seed blueberry pancakes and granola, and I would highly recommend either (or both if you've got room!) They aren't kidding about the size of the pancakes either; each is the size of a plate!

Great stop for breakfast (served all day) and I hear their lunch is excellent as well.

This is a lovely little restaurant in downtown Bloomington. It's located a couple of blocks from the IU Sample Gates. The decor and art are simple but vibrant. Oldies music added some fun; some songs ya just gotta hum along to!! The menu is pretty basic, all American diner fare. Not boring-menu items have a current twist. For example, gluten free and vegan options are available. A customer favorite is the dinner plate sized pancakes. I ordered the veggie omelette. My daughter ordered 1 of everything. 2 OE eggs, toast, fried potatoes, bacon, & biscuits and gravy. We shared a pancake for dessert. She was very hungry! The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Service was fast and friendly. I also enjoy that many of the staff are Indaina University students. If you're in a chatty mood, go during a slow hour. Ask your server about school. If they're not busy, you'll have an interesting little chat. Be sure to support higher education with a nice gratuity.

Talk about "Brunch Central"--- this place is overflowing on weekends and in the mornings. The food itself bearly gets a 3, but everyone loved it and the atmosphere is nice. The service can be rather slow on the weekend, but their bennies are tasty.

The food is good. It's not over priced but DON'T go here if you don't have a lot of time. We went, was seated right away, the waitress took our order promptly, and than we sat, and sat, and sat. It was two deli sandwiches. I could have went out and shot the turkey, plucked it and baked it in that time. :)

I had the BLT "revisited" it was delicious. My date had the biscuits and gravy and said it was one of the best he's had. It was definitely the largest plate of biscuits and gravy I've ever seen. Lol service was great as well.

This place is delicious! Got the Power Breakfast with pumpkin pancakes. Orange juice was FRESH SQUEEZED OJ!!! It was a really great meal. And they had plenty of outdoor seating, which was nice with the pandemic concerns. I would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again if in the area.

This is perhaps the most popular hangover cure/breakfast spot in town.

One thing you will always notice about the Deli is that the coworkers seem to absolutely love each other and it shows through their service attitudes.

Ask them and they will tell you their favorite part about their job is all of their coworkers. This is exactly what you want in a work environment as it keeps employees engaged, empowered, and most importantly in this setting providing customers with excellent service.

The potatoes are my personal favorite to order from the Deli and I encourage you to feast on their super sized pancakes if you have the large appetite that I do!

I will also note that if you ever have to wait, it is well worth it.

Every restaurant in bloomington requires mask when you enter or move about the Establishment but not required when you re sitting. Village deli requires that you have a mask on even while seated. My son was wearing a patriotic shirt so I m sure we were targeted but they asked us to leave if we would not wear our masks while seated at our table. Staff was incredibly rude. Uptown and Farm are much better and courteous!

Very disappointed. I've came here many times but the last few times were all bad. This visit, the food was completely bland. Got strawberry waffles, scrambles eggs, bacon, corn beef hash with two over easy eggs. The only food that was good was the white toast. I didn't know you could mess up scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon tasted like it was cooked in old burnt oil and the eggs tasted so bland and fake. The service was better than it was before so I'll give that a plus. Other than that, the food was just a hugr disappointment. I'll stick with Cloverleaf and Cracker barrel for breakfast. We will not be coming back to place.

Went on a Sunday morning and was told it would be about 30 minutes until our table was ready. It was worth the wait. We shopped for a bit next door until we were called. Ordered the Paxton potatoes with two eggs up top. The mix of potatoes, sausage gravy, cheese and eggs in a bowl is a delicious combination. Highly recommend the Paxton potatoes and the Deli.

Very racist-like behavior. I, my wife and sister waited 30 minutes in line for our turn on the list. They seated 6 other people who were after me in the list. I will not recommend the restaurant to any non-White person. If yo are White, the pancakes are good.

Bathroom was clean. Workers were friendly. Everything was brought to me quickly. Unfortunately, my omelette was very bland and the produce did not taste or look fresh. My omelettes taste better. Good service doesn't save the food

I'm sure the breakfast is good. It all looked delicious. We wanted lunch. The chicken salad on toasted pumpernickel wasn't toasted. The chicken salad was dry. My daughter said the same about hers which was on a croissant.
