The resort is definitely small. So there are few amenities and no walking trails. But everything else is satisfactory. It is so good to have a relaxing break. Especially, it is best to use a room that keeps the water temperature well at night. The free shuttle service to Ubud is also excellent. The staff is also very friendly. Well. Massage service was also good. (The facilities and the overall process were a little disappointing) and a little too expensive. I can also meet a monkey.

An absolutely stunning hotel. The accommodation was amazing, especially the high level of finishes and the villa was extremely spacious. The private pool was breathtaking with views of the forest. We even had a visit from a family of local monkeys. I thought the daily fresh fruit a lovely touch. Thoroughly enjoyed the spa facilities. The massage was one of the best I have ever experienced. The restaurant offered numerous options that were delicious. The staff and managers were extremely professional, approachable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the Viceroy for those wanting a zen holiday in paradise.

Very very bad experience with front desk female recpetionist. When alighted, told us no photos, can only sit on the chair. Stopped the kid from walking also.
Totally spoilt the mood for dining. But dining staff at cascade had very very good service!! Thumbs up for restaurant staffs!

The villa where we stay has a beautiful view, it clean, spacious, and modern facilities.. Staffs are nice and helpful. We had breakfast in the bale while watching beautiful sunrise.. Very recommend this hotel!

for the price, its definitely not worth the value. its an old resort, nothing compare to ritz carlton, four seasons or maya ubud a few miles away from this resort.

It is a luxury resort. It is quiet and forgets time. Japanese is hardly understood. The view is different from the beach area and it is a view of the mountain, but it is good to see the sunrise. Breakfast overwhelmed involuntarily in order buffet form. The dinner also served me a back menu.

"Fantastic Holiday"
My husband and I stayed at Viceroy for 7 nights in September in Villa 27. We had the most fantastic time. From the lovely welcome with the flower Frangipani garlands, the decorations on the bed, the sweets in beaded pots at night, very warm swimming pool, cleanliness of all areas and, most importantly, to the friendliness of all the staff. We had a half board package so ate every night at the restaurant Cascades. The food was superb and Chef Miles and his staff accommodated my egg allergy with great flair and imagination. One night we had a Romantic Dinner which was set up by the main pool with lots of decoration with flowers. Chef discussed with us our menu and we had a excellent 5 course meal. We went to the Monkey Forest using the complimentary transport to Ubud. We also paid to be driven to the Bali Bird park and be picked up again. This cost was minimal. The main pool is not heated but was pleasant enough with good views of the opposite forest. The view from our own pool was the same and we saw monkeys and a black capped kingfisher during our stay. I would recommend this resort to anyone who enjoys luxury and brilliant service. Thank you Viceroy. Audrey & Robert

Stunning in everyway. The villas are beautiful, spacious and the moderate sized plunge pools are always warm. Food was amazing, only issue is the cost. Small local beers costs 60kIRP (when factoring in the service and tax) cocktails over 200k... Staff are truely wonderful we got lost and missed our pick up (we were meant to be joining another couple), the desk had already sent another car to come look for us when we called from a local bar a few minutes later. Its heaven on earth set within a valley of rainforest.

Just staying 2d1n feels really lacking. From the view, the service, the room, the screen. Even here, their toiletry is different, premium. You must come here if you want a vacation that needs peace. Get free lunch for 3 menus, once at the restaurant, all you can eat is given to the waiter. 9.5 / 10 for Viceroy

This is an amazing hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The views are breathtaking. The rooms are modern, clean, & fit for a king. Fully recommend this hotel. It's fabulous.

Amazing luxurious experience! Everything from welcoming us as guests to a dinner at their restaurant was superb!

I attended the ladies night on Wednesday. The food and drinks quality was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet poised. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quick R&R or fine dining.

Amazing hotel , staff, food , spa and villas. The staff arrange fantastic tours for you to explore the island. This is our 2nd time at the Viceroy and it exceeded our expectations again with a new gourmet restaurant and bar on site. Yesterday they hosted a special chef lineup charity event we were fortunate to participate in for a great cause. On site owners make this an incredible boutique luxury destination.

Access to your Villa or room is done via a Golf Buggy resulting in a hassle free experience. Cascades Restaurant never fails to impress for any culinary occasion. Viceroy is the place to go for relaxation and comfort. I had the pleasure of celebrating NYE there and was not disappointed.

This hotel really has the best view and fantastic service. Will come back here again someday

Perfectly detailed service, everything is on the right place and with the right amount. I ve drunk a tea, and got much more good experience while walking around and taking pictures in that wonderful place.

This hotel is stunning in every way. From the option to arrive by helicopter (8 seater or 4 seater), this 25 private-villa resort will transport you to another world through the fine dining, the infinity pool in your private villa, the views from your very own bale of the jungle-clad Petanu River Gorge, which is nothing short of spectacular. Enjoy a capaccino from your own expresso machine in your room and awake to the dawn chorus of birdsong. Professional staff who really show they love guests and you will meet the two owners who live on site too and that equates to a level of service above five star. A very romantic hotel.

Well this is exactly what you would expect of a Viceroy hotel, the experience is seamless and the service is excellent. It is a Western style hotel with small Indonesian influences. The restaurant (CasCades) is excellent (if quite close to Western prices) and the scenery is out of this world!

The villas are good ... but why give me only 2 stars ... because the service is so ugly ... kermahan, courtesy isn't there ... it's really different from the mandapa ritz carlton whose servants are nice and very friendly ... the least oath of experience stay at villa vaceroy ... the ones that make you most annoyed can't get photos in the public pool ... for those who are Indonesian, they don't want to stay there ... I suggest you get mandapa ritz carlton or forsesion ...

The room was unbelievable! Huge and open plan, views to die for and a plunge pool that is constantly heated. Ultimate in luxury. Breakfast was bought to our room as we were so tired from the lengthy journey but as soon as we d had a rest, we decided to go for dinner at the cascades restaurant

This place is heaven on earth and is the best place we've ever stayed. My husband and I went for our honeymoon for 5 nights and were genuinely sad to leave.

It is one of the most beautiful and charming hotels in Bali, located in the highlands of Ubud, and is classified as five stars, and offers luxury villas with private pools and views of the Batnau River.

If you want romantic luxury honeymoon in the middle of the jungle, just go for it. If you are a caring husband or Lovable father also go for it. They have private villas and suites with all have a private pools. They have Fitness center, Spa, Bar, Wheel chair access, Restaurant, Pool, Free Parking, Breakfast & wifi.......... List still continues.

If you are a married couple just go and feel the majestic ambiance and if you are a family man with children then also go for it to spend few days in Mesmerizing location.

They had a luxurious private dinner at the pool (you have to pre book that) and it is just AMAZING! ! Strongly recommend it for newlyweds and also for family stay.

Staying at a villa at the Viceroy was definitely the BEST vacation I have ever had! Of course it is a little expensive but if you want to discover pure luxury & comfort this is the best you can do. The food is also incredibly good! We loved every second of our stay and i really hope to go there again. Thank you for everything.

Everything worth a 5 stars besides the price, just overpriced, anyways still a pleasant stay. The shuttle service is pretty convenience as well.

Very nice place, very beautiful panorama. The place is splendid. By cons the hotel service is not up to what we sell the site; check-in with 40min late and arrived in room, explanations are summary. For the welcome cocktails, they arrived a good hour after our installation. At the restaurant level, the gourmet menu is very good for its price but disappointing (in the menu, caviar entry oscietre 30g has turned into 3 grains). In the reservation, there is massage offered for 2, it must insist and predict otherwise there is never room! Lots of little details that do not make this hotel a "big hotel".

The fine-tuned service and the quality of the food deserve this star.
The double check for allergic foods and this request is perfect, and the staff's attentiveness is also wonderful. The food served in that environment is superb.
The way the grilled salmon was lit was also great. This truffle risotto is the best of any Italian restaurant.

I went to see my ltalian tourists in this hotel last year. We were going on 2 fullday and 1 halfday tours from here. It was my first time to see the place. The hotel was nice and clean but we found something rather unusual here.
The Hotel can be reached from Depasar in 1 hour on normal traffic condition and is located a little bit inside from the main road of Tegalalang turning to the right side of the road as you going to Tegalalang village when you come to see the place from southward village of Ubud, neighboring another beautiful hotel of Kamandalu which I come more often to see my tourists in the area.
Though it has a helipad but it has only a small minimal parking area that can park small 5 to 6 mini vans in front of the hotel which surrounded by yellowish, ready to harvest, rice with some wild monkeys playing in the rice paddy field.
What I meant by unusual above is that when you come to see your tourists here you can't go to meet them in the hotel lobby. You have to wait in a small room near security personnel station prepared by hotel with some chairs to sit, toilet on it and you also given tea or coffee while waiting for your tourists in that small station. When your tourists appear in the lobby then the receptionist will call you to go straight with your car, board them in the car from the lobby and go away. A such is unfamiliared in any hotel I go anywhere, anyplace in Bali except a Club Hotel in Nusadua area.
Ok, this is not really something or a big deal and yet it is still rather unusual. What is a such system not allowing the local to meet their tourists in the lobby to discuss tour itinararies or something else, perhaps? What if you invite by your tourists to dine with them in the hotel restaurant.
Lucky me to have been on the place to know all this and with the price that painfully expensive to domestic tourists to stay compare to other hotel of the same class even above it in the area, the hotel may have their own special high class and fanatical obeidience clients to accomodate.
Oh, well. It's only an experience of me doing my work as a local tour guide.

An absolutely stunning hotel in a beautiful location. We had the most amazing time. The staff are courteous, friendly, and very helpful. Cascades Restaurant serves brilliant food (especially the breakfasts)! The Spa is highly recommended, and please have at least one meal in the new Aperitif Restaurant, you will not be disappointed. Our villa with private pool was fantastic, beautifully appointed, and with great views out over the valley and jungle. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough, in particular every single member of staff, who made us feel so special throughout our six night stay. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Ubud, there is only one place I would want to stay, and that is The Viceroy.

Incredible place to disconnect from the world, unparalleled attention, everyone is very kind in their treatment and attention, they make every effort to make you feel good. The delicious food and at a very fair price, the facilities completely clean and first level.

Stunning hotel and fantastic service. It was clear everyone was there to make sure I stay was the best possible. We had a minor issue with our private pool which was resolved immediately and without us even knowing when they fixed it.

My wife and I have been coming to Bali for 20 years and we are so happy to have found The Viceroy. Everything is about excellence, from staff to the very top of management. We stayed there 4 weeks ago and have been continually talking about how wonderful our experience was. We are already making plans to go back next year!
