Vanilla Orchid is, quite simply, the very, very best. They provided a phenomenally delicious, beautiful, cost-effective luncheon that all my guests raved about. Their customer service is impeccable. And, they were able to accommodate some fairly serious dietary requirements. Their staff is amazing. I cannot say enough fantastic things about them! They are the best caterers I have ever used. You will be so incredibly happy if you book them!
The vanilla orchid os a catering business but you can order a meal online a few days in advance. The sandwiches were packed full of meat and the bread was extremely fresh. The bow tie macaroni salad was excellent.
I highly recommend using Vanilla Orchid for catering!! Recently used Vanilla Orchid for my sisters gender reveal party. Their customer service was excellent from the beginning of getting the quotes to the end when picking up the order. They were responsive and courteous in all email and phone communications. They reviewed all the best menu options as we were picking up the order ourselves and traveling with the food. They even accommodated a last minute food addition with no problems. On the day of the event all the food was ready on time, we walked into the store and loaded everything up, reviewed the final invoice and left. The food was excellent! The charcuterie board looked great and travelled well, the blue cheese was so good! Everyone loved the chicken salad sandwiches and pasta salad.
A doctor's office purchases our meals in appreciation for caring for the elderly. It's so delicious!! A sandwich, chips and homemade cookie. Yum!!!
So here's an update on my last order. The lettuce was limp and the tomato wasn't fresh.
Vanilla Orchid catered my corporate holiday party for the second consecutive year, and they once again did a phenomenal job. They communicate thoroughly, their prices are reasonable, and they execute service flawlessly. Most importantly, their food is scrumptious! Our team members couldn't stop raving about the delicious spread of heavy appetizers we served at our cocktail party. Everything was fresh and yummy! I took breakfast to my clients yesterday and the whole experience was amazing! From simple ordering and quick responses! Ivan is great to work with! And my clients were extremely impressed! They will definitely remember me! And I have to say, you absolutely have to try the cinnamon rolls, I always thought my grandma made the best but these gave hers a run for the money!
Just speaking from within VO as a chef, this place caters to large business cafeterias in the Austin area, such as the IBM building and AMD Summit Cafe. Chef Matt is allowed to continually practice poor food handling / sanitation. He and his sous chef partially cook chicken breast at the IBM kitchen then transport it on the floor (the vacant dirty floor of a box van -NO SHELVES OR TABLES - during 8 am mopac traffic, and 35 to 45 minutes later, the partially cooked chicken arrives at the AMD Summit cafeteria off Southwest Parkway, to be put in a cooler (partially raw/cooked) and then finished at 11 am in preparation for lunch for the AMD employees. They regularly practice the partial cooking of proteins (meats) as well as vegetables, in order to save time for transporting purposes. They did this exact thing for a high profile / expensive wedding event as well.
Terribly flawed food handling practices, and speaking from an eye witness standpoint - beware and choose another catering option - this place and the owner - Ivan have no standards or respect for what they do, let alone respect for the customer/client.
Actually 4.5 stars. I had a lovely cheese 'box' at Zach theater. It was fresh w a Fab assortment of cheese, lovely nuts and unique fruit. The figs were a real treat. I couldn't give 5 stars, bc there wasnt enough bread/crackers. No, to many goodies is not a bad thing, but it did make it off balance.
However, it was worth the inconvenience to take home the leftovers to enjoy w more crackers and wine ;-)

We used Vanilla Orchid for three commercial holiday events (500-900 guests per event) this season. Not to mention, all back to back and in different locations! Kameron made the booking process easy and was prompt with responses. Once the details were set, we sent invoices to accounting to begin the check cutting process. Vanilla Orchid worked with our company and invoiced us ahead of time so we could make sure they were paid well before the event. Communication was excellent leading up to the events and during. They arrived early, were professionally dressed, vehicle was in pristine condition and most of all the desserts were amazing. Kameron, Katherine and Gunner really made sure that our set up was impressive, functional and replenished properly. Our tenants were very pleased with the holiday event we put on and that is directly reflective of how Vanilla Orchid came through for us. The desserts were delicious and definitely not the lowest cost around Austin. You get what you pay for! In this case though, with Vanilla Orchid, you pay for quality service and that is exactly what we received three days in a row. We highly recommend them for your next event.
