The comedy was good and we had a good time. The tickets aren't expensive, but I've also been to similar quality improv performances for a lot cheaper. I think its reputation and the cost made me think it was going to be a lot better.

The stepfathers were really funny. I heard a lot of good things about this place prior to coming and what I can say about this place is that it does not disappoint. Had a great time with my friends. Would highly recommend this place for people visiting New York.

One Sunday I happened upon a diversity performance here. It was free and so freaking funny. Almost everyone had a shot to go on stage and improv.

Free!

So free I looked up UcB's intro to improv class and might actually enroll.

UCB is always great. The new spot is missing the old school feel of UCB Chelsea and doesn't (yet) have alcohol. But, amazing improv and sure they'll outfit this location with a decent beer list soon enough.

Comedy show was extremely funny. By reserving tickets ahead of time (online) you avoid waiting in the stand by line. Inexpensive, and a great time for out of town guests. Improv comedy that is fun. Multiple showtimes make it easy to attend.

If you like comedy, and specifically improv, this place is worth a visit. Lots of talented performers that are sure to make you laugh. An affordable way to enjoy some live entertainment in the city.

Love love love... that's all. Always a pleasure to see sketch comedy at UCB! The Curfew was a fantastic troupe and enjoyed the show thoroughly. Highly recommend checking them out and UCB shows as they are a fantastic way to spend a night in the city

The best comedy I have ever seen in my life has happened at this theatre. And for $5 or $10. Yes, it is dank, smells bad, has obstructed views, and is generally a grungy place. But that is all part of the experience. You haven't seen alt comedy in NYC until you've been to UCB. For first timers, I especially recommend Whiplash Monday nights at 11pm, Asssscat on Sunday nights (the later show is free!) and any of the weekend improv shows.

Saw We Will Turn You Gay and Improvised Seinfeld. The first made me laugh so hard I cried. The second was great, too. The actors had all the characters' mannerisms and cadences down. I can't wait to go again.

Considering how expensive other places in the city can be for comedy, UCB is a gem. Sure, the facilities aren't the nicest, but what it lacks in ambiance, they make up for its offerings. Be sure to check out the free 9:30 PM Sunday show ASSSSCAT 3000 - you will have to get there early and wait, but if you're on a budget and hoping for some entertainment, you'll find it here.

Unbelievable. I showed up and bought a ticket and it seemed like they didn't even have a script. It was like they were making it up as they went along. Like they were so desperate they were asking the audience for ideas.
Worst play ever.

"The Law Firm" on Friday night is very good. When we went, the audience appeared to be mostly young women. Be sure to promptly return to your seat during the intermission because the staff will just close the doors and start the second half without much notice.

To put this review in overly simplistic words, this place is absolutely hilarious and unique, but I feel like I need to go into more detail. You buy the tickets in advance, or at the box office there, then you get into a line to get into the theater. The seats are first come first serve, (some seats are reserved, they have tape with the reserverers name on them, but I'm getting sidetracked) and if you're too late you have to sit on the side of the stage.

The stars of the future go through the silly make-em-ups, while shows like Whiplash on Monday night occasionally feature Louis CK, Amy Shumer, or anyone else that happens to be awake on a Monday night at midnight.

Go to place for improv comedy in NYC. A lot of talented artists have come out of this place. They also have improv class. Your experience will depend on the audience participation and the prompts they give. Crowd management while entering the theatre isn't the best.

Absolutely horrible show, if I could give 0 stars and get a refund I would, not funny, not original, with jokes stolen from elen, missed queues for the first act, unfunny story unfunny "jokes" I had more laughs coming from me and my girlfriend (who broke up with me because of this) by making fun of how bad the comedy was, second act was literally reading from a script, unfunilly while somtimes creepily repeating previous words, again had more fun making fun and imagining an escape route as we sat in the middle of the row. I would not recommend, I wish I argued for a refund, I wish I never wasted an hour and 15 minutes of my life on something that horrible. I recommend Jimmy carr or bill burr on youtube over these guys In person paying me 100 dollars to watch their crummy show. DO NOT GIVE THEM A CHANCE

The line moved quickly and in an orderly fashion. The concessions were a bit overpriced, but I'll concede that all concessions are consigned to overpricing. The show itself was innovative: a mix of improv and pre-written plays. Overall, it was very enjoyable, although the show was a tad short. Still a great time and worth the cost.

Make reservations, otherwise you'll be demoted to waiting outside. Friday nights see The Stepfathers...or go late night for some Liquid Courage - you can perform at that one, if you dare!

Really funny improv & shows. Comedians who have made it rub elbows with those taking improv classes or trying to make their way, to the amusement of everyone in the audience. Good prices for shows, on Harold nights and other big draws the line can run down the block.

Definitely a mixed bag, which was incredibly disappointing to me. I took a group of friends to a Wednesday night late show, which was just a guy talking in a loose, talkshow-style about his tour and how much he hated the election results. Too many inside jokes and references no one that isn't a UCB student would get I suppose.

However, I wanted this to be a better experience, so I went back the following Thursday for the early show (as it was all I could fit into my schedule) and saw a GREAT improv show. The performers were top notch and I really enjoyed both halves of the show. I could definitely see some of these individuals making an easy transition to huge careers.

So, I my rating is based on the second show and the fact that it is a fun, intimate atmosphere that works well for comedy. There are a few site lines that are not ideal due to posts, but overall you will have a great time. I guess I would just avoid any late show....or at least anyone that is trying to improv a talk show.....

We saw the group Law & Order and it was excellent! Awesome venue and will definitely be coming back.

They have a bar with snacks and drinks that are reasonably priced. Overall just an awesome place!

Fun times at Shamilton. They acted out a number based upon Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Very funny. Great play off of one another. And to do it completely improv was remarkable. Well worth the $15

Great improve shows that regularly feature celebrities who just show up because they want to participate in something more connected. Also some great improv classes for those interested in performing.

One of the best comedy clubs in the city - tons of famous comedians got their start here. Most of the performers have gone through several levels of improv training and they're among the best comedians around. For a mere $5, you can see an incredibly funny and professional show - can't beat it! Beers are cheap too. This makes for a great date spot.

The best bang for your buck comedy club in NYC. If you're going to a free show, make sure to get there at least an hour before they start handing out the tickets. I'd suggest going online to reserve tickets for a paid show (typically $6 a ticket)
