This was our first time here. To over priced especially for what you get! The tickets parking and food. Is over priced! I was very disappointed, that we paid for what we did and didn't get To hardly see what we wanted to see. To far of a walk from the car to entrance. There were hardly any animals out @ all! And they tease you by making you walk far to see the animals and then in between each animal is a confession stand. Talk about just a money maker and a distraction so your kids will want a ice cream that cost 10.00 ! Dipping dots 8.00 really you can go to Kroger and buy these for a 1.00. I just think the whole situation was just well over priced for what it was! I don't think we will be going back!
Fantastic zoo always something new and fun to see!!
Greatest zoo in the world, literally, worth the drive for a whole day exploring huge sections
Great zoo with many improvements as of recent (water play area for the kids, zip line and more). Everybody's zoo-ing it!
We have the highest membership you can get, because this place is such a great place for the kids to learn and see all the animals, it's so awesome! Plus... Let's be honest everyone loves the fudge from the gift shop!!! <3 <3
Great place to hang out for the day with the family. The new additions are worth seeing!
Toledo Zoo is a fun and interesting place. Lots of unique exhibits and excellent facilities.
I've been to 4 zoos, Honolulu, Tucson, Portland and Detroit and the Toledo Zoo takes the cake.
We had been members of the Toledo Zoo for 3 years. We love it! Yesterday we were enjoying a full day there when the Epipen bag got misplaced. Admin was calling me about 10 min after informing me they had my Epi bag. I had not realized it was left behind in the building we were before. If I had realized we did not have the Epi I would have had a heart attack. The medic (Rob) open the bag and found my name and phone inside. He treated it like a medical emergency because life saving medication was there. Cannot thank enough the Zoo. They were great!
Loved it. My only complaint. Which has nothing to do with Zoo staff or anything with the actual Zoo. Please don't complain about people being at The Lights Before Christmas. It's crowded and everyone has a right to be there just like you. If your not a people person. Don't go to the Zoo and complain about people being there.
Many new venues . The museum shows some historical extinct animal replicas , without delving into theories and timelines of millions of years , to their credit .
Nice facility. Old buildings are very cool. Built during the depression when people wanted to work
Always have great experiences here, we're from Michigan and come here over the Detroit zoo based on the quality of all the exhibits
Beautiful Christmas lights show. Always amazes me at the beauty displayed.
This zoo is huge and will be a day packed with fun. Lots of walking. There are so many great animal exhibits here. We were there for about 4 hours and still didn't get to everything. But the elephants were awesome - be sure to make the walk all the way to the indoor area. Also the polar bears were nice - they have an indoor viewing area which was perfect because it started raining (also nice to go in the winter and watch them play without freezing your tush off)
Great place for family fun. So many exhibits to see, places to eat, and things to learn.
Lights before Christmas is great fun as well. So many lights including dancing lights to watch.
There also is a great video right on the carnivore cafe building. Worth a watch really neat.
Food is expensive as expected but it's easy enough to bring your cooler and eat.
Great place and many fun things for adults and kids alike!
So much to do and see. Unlimited fun! Best zoo I've ever been too, learned a lot and had a great time!
Great day at the zoo. Just enough inside things to do to get out of the heat. Beautiful exhibits.
Great attractions, super fun, very spread out but walkable. Great staff. Love it every time
Perfect place to come all year round. Most animals are indoor and outdoors. In hot weather or cold just pop inside. Summer is also time for the SPLASH PAD!
Great exhibits. Can get a closer look at animals here than at some other zoos. Enrichment day is a must see (Sept). Food there is meh. Light shows during the fall evenings are worth the extra price, just check the schedule. After our initial visit, we went to member services on our way out and traded our day pass for an annual membership. We will be going back!
Shared many experiences here when I was younger with my Aunt's who brought us once a summer for years. Always remember the Pandas being popular. Zoo works hard at raising money and developing meaningful exhibits and share their love of animals with members and guests. Returned last summer and our daughters enjoyed the great weather day for the visit. Fun to go when they have lights and other themes to celebrate with children and families. Thank you Toledo Zoo.
Great place for kids. Wish the animals were more active but all in all wonderful
Walked 10000 steps an awesome place for family fun.
This zoo is amazing! I've never seen artic wolves or a polar bear so active. The animals seem happy (not agitated) and well cared for. Delightful trick or treating for the kids. Fun time all around!
This is the best zoo I have been to. I highly recommend!
Christmas lights were Awesome!
Loved warming stations!
The kids had a great time. Alot of the cages look like they need some love. Did not think it was good that you had to pay to ride a train or feed the giraffes to see the African animals
Though this is a small zoo, great placement of exhibits and hands on experience make it a great one to even drive an hour to visit.
I loved the new aquarium and my little ones love the parakeet retreat. We are never disappointed when we go to the Toledo zoo.
Love this zoo! The new aquarium is amazing! Well worth the drive from Michigan.
Veterans get in free with id....that made my day from the get go....used to live in the area 15 yrs ago and the kids wanted to go...great day...had fun and they enjoyed...great zoo then..great zoo still
Had a wonderful time! We went on a weekday so it was packed. What I like about this Zoo is that you see the animal more up close compared to Detroit Zoo. The only reason why I took out a star is because most of its store/drawing portrait stand was closed because it was a weekday.
Amazing place. So much to offer, see and do. They even have a fun splash pad for the kids. We have gone twice and still didn't make it through the entire thing to see every part of it
Our favorite zoo. Love feeding the giraffes and petting the stingrays
These poor animals were once roaming the world, however now we are shoving them in cages for people to stare at. One glance at the polar bears can tell you they are suffering from the heat. DONT GO HERE!
My family always has a blast at the Toledo Zoo. We go a couple times a year. We really enjoyed seeing the lights this year. It males for a totally different experience, and they clearly put a lot of work into it. Well worth the 2 hour drive.
We love going to the Toledo zoo. We always have so much fun.
Great zoo to visit on a weekday, especially in the fall. Animals are usually awake and active, with the exception of the white lions
Never have seen those! Food and drink stations are plentiful, bathrooms are clean and staff is friendly. I love the aquarium and the skeet retreat in the summer!
Great day for the whole family!!!! Love the zoo!!!!
I've been three times in the past month or so, and I love it. Awesome treats, all the animals look relaxed and friendly (and spoiled). Face masks make this a safe place to have fun with the whole family. Maybe bring sunblock though!
I've visited zoos all over the country and this is one of the best. It's a jewel.
The best family fun you can have in north west ohio.
I grew up going to this zoo, so I have fond memories here. Now I'm able to bring my son so he can enjoy it. It's one of the must see places in Toledo.
Pleasant surprise! Hadn't visited this Zoo in years- my mistake. Exhibits laid out on opposite sides of the freeway connected by a sky bridge. Giraffes, elephants, rhinos, gorrillas, orangutans, crocs, and wolves on site. There is a reptile house, aquarium, greenhouse, aviary, and primate house. They also have a kiddie splash park, ropes course and ziplines (seasonal) as well as a beautiful amphitheater. Thumbs up...
Could improve on some of the existing structures and work to increase the size of the zoo.
Great animals in awesome surroundings. Unlike other zoos, habitats are close together so walks are shorter. The holiday light display is a lot of fun as well!
There's not too many animals out . there was a lot of empty exhibits
Besides the rain it was a great experience like always.
The Toledo zoo is an amazing experience for all ages. You can interact with the animals in a number of different ways. They have a goat exhibit to pet the goats. they have two different aquatic exhibits to pet the aquatic animals. You can feed the giraffes by hand.
Always a good time at the zoo. The Luminous Nights thing is pretty cool. Pricey. But cool.
