During a pandemic they managed to do a title search while the county clerk's office was closed to the public. Received $150 overpayment check in the mail which was a nice added bonus. The people at silk are very knowledgeable and if they do not have the answer for you immediately they will stand by their word and get back to you. I had a very pleasurable experience through tough trying times.
They should not be allowed to coordinate real estate closings in states that require an attorney to be at the closing table. Everything is last minute and up to the wire and their mobile attorneys are not allowed to handle checks, so no one gets paid at settlement. Would not recommend.
I had a closing set for May 4th using their mobile notary. At 5pm when someone from Silk called to "schedule" my closing I was not happy. Their suggestion to solve my problem of waiting all day was to just give someone a power of attorney and they would meet them on Monday to close instead. I rescheduled for today 5/11 at noon and nobody showed up again.
So I think it is important that I update this now that everything has settled. While I am still disappointed with how the closing set up went, once it actually happened I was very pleased with the person they sent. I did also receive a fully apology from the company and they outright stated they were embarrassed and that this is not how they conduct business. They also waived their closing fees as a result of what happened. So will give them the benefit of the doubt and suggest maybe you give them a chance if you are in need of a mobile closing.
