I highly recommend Rye Room! Matt is a knowledgeable, professional, and efficient engineer. His equipment is top shelf, he travels to other cities and works with other engineers to keep his game fresh. His personality is calm, open and easy to work with. I see Matt out at shows supporting artist and he is well networked with the artist community in Portland. The studio is a beautiful space, and the studio support dog, Whiskey, adds some charm while diffusing human tension and over excitement that can sometimes be part of the creative process.
If you're looking to track a professional sound for a reasonable price, this is your place. Plain and simple. I could go on and on about great environment, equipment, etc.....but really what it boils down to is that Matt takes the time to listen to your vision of each song. He compliments the energy behind the songwriting, and implements that vision, from the beginning, with how he tracks, mixes, and produces it. This is the kind of individualized attention you only get from someone who actually cares about the music. That's why I will be back again.
