A fun place with a cracking rooftop concept / retractable roof bar. Only issue is if cigarette smoke bugs you - the roof top bar (Taylors) will probably be a mild struggle. Someone hasn't quite worked out that smoke doesn't respect a sign post telling it not to pass that point

I was in between meetings and popped into The Whool & Wheat Bar for a delish steak sandwich. The interior and bar looks fresh. I will be back for a few beers soon or even a dinner in The new Dining Room. Great service too! Thanks Team :)

Great ambiance and service. Disappointed with their beef Wellington. The beef was tender but too salty and it was more like a beef pie. The crusty lamb cutlers were good.

This place is peculiar. Its downstairs (always interesting, I tend to leave my dignity at ground level before heading subterrain) and you are fronted with a club/rsl style sign in desk.
Moving forward from that we were promptly greeted and shown a white clothed table. Power broker oil paintings on the wall. Comfy chairs and decent non-rocky table.
My thoughts- good grief this could be an expensive lunch.
Said to be Italian but not a particularly traditional Italian vibe, feel or cuisine. interesting.
+ Was in a burger mood so that's what I had. V good
+ Menabrea Italiana Birra in the bottle. V good & cold glass provided. win.
+ nice interior, cool but perfect room temperature
+ no view / street distractions keeps conversation more focussed.
+ good service
- only one craft beer on tap (was a Murrays Whale Ale I think - and if you've read my other reviews you'll know I'm not big on the craft scene)
- would be good to have better beer range
- not many places in Sydney have no view in some shape or form and remain viable
- Staff dress code paradox- waitress was undressed (plain black shirt), Waiter and barman long sleeved collared shirt very presentable.
Plan on returning.
Smart casual vibe with weekday lunch clientele mainly businessy.
Low key but a well run operation, meals arrived within 15-20min happy window.
Bene :) 3.75*
