The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco Review

I attended an event for work in the lower level ball room. The space was well appointed and the servers pleasant and efficient.

Really unique setting. First class service and amenities. Awesome place!

RC is great if you have access to the lounge.... Drinks, snacks, honor bar....

Perfect and attentive service. Also our special requests were done quickly. Many thanks to the crew of the reception!

Beautiful property very close to Chinatown. Very easy to miss since on the outside it looks like many of the other buildings. Once you get inside tho its breathtakingly beautiful.

Love the hotel! The room is very spaces, clean and feel very luxurious! The bed is comfortable the bed room is very clean and nice.

Meticulous service as usual in Ritz. This SF RItz was a bit dated but maintained well. I had a package to be delivered but somehow got lost, they promptly helped to retrieve it and send back to HK.

Great service! Wonderful rooms! But doors are thin and we could hear the guests next to us. Hotel was very accommodating though.

I already left a rating on their Facebook page but for the Google reviewers. I want to let you know that my husband, and I had a five-star experience at the club level. We had an amazing service by all staff. If you are choosing to stay at this hotel I recommend the club level it's an experience that no other Hotel can give you. Also, my husband and I we weren't too shy to ask what we want it, I never heard anyone complain with our request.

Typical luxury hotel. Marble bathrooms, extremely comfortable beds, and decent sized rooms. The staff is also very courteous and helpful.

Excellent place, nice rooms very spacious and clean, the shower may be narrow to some.
I especially recommend the level 8 rooms deal which you get a all day kitchen and lounge along with the room.

Great service from all the hotel staff. Bar had a hiccup last night self seating we waited but never served or acknowledged so we left. They were busy but wait staff kept walking by us for some reason.

Good and bad. Good: the Club Level but, of course, you pay for it. Club Level is very good with an unbelievably helpful and friendly staff. The concierges are amazing! They, as well as the Club Level staff, made the stay pleasant. If not for them, it would have been awful. Although I will also give credit to the valet staff. They are friendly, helpful and courteous. The front desk could learn how to be nice. Maybe it was a bad day but truly not impressed.
Now for the bad: our room. I had booked online a double suite. Turns out there is no such thing. I ended with a suite but king bed and sofa bed fot my teen daughter. We made it work although I would have booked elsewhere if I knew especially at the price we were spending per night. The place needs to be remodeled! The rugs and drapes are worn and dirty. Light bulb was not working. Worse of all, when I booked online, I spend extra for a room with a view. There was not view except for the concrete wall surrounding the building. And to make things worse they were doing maintenance on it. I woke to men out my balcony working at about 7 am. The whole time my view was of paint buckets and concrete pilings. Not exactly what I'd call five star and luxury especially for the price I paid. I did a RC survey when I got home and told them what I experienced and it is three weeks later and I haven't heard a thing back. Not impressed with their service anymore. Not sure if it's just the San Fran one or all in general. I may reconsider where I stay next time.

Great staff, nice clean rooms. Nice to have a gym within. Close to local transportation and great restaurants. Food within is also good.

Horrible experience! They tried too hard to be accommodating to things that mattered least to us and less accommodating to things that mattered most to us! They didn't comply to a request of the coffee capsules we requested, the beds weren't the best, the bar charged me 40 bucks for a hamburger and OVERSALTED fries (I'm not even sure the burger was that great), and when I ordered room service for a mug, it took them 20-30 minutes to arrive to my room (which is nowhere near what is considered customary in a business-like hotel like Ritz Carlton if you're talking about efficient customer service, as it normally it takes only 5-10 minutes for room service in a place like this!). They better get their service in order!

I called once and the picked up and then hung up after I said like four words and then I called again and the didn't answer

We had a smaller gathering for drinks and small bites at the restaurant before heading to a bigger celebration on the 1st floor. Restaurant service was great and they accommodated our every request. The larger event amenities were great too.

Great old charm feel to the hotel. While you feel like you have stepped back in time you also feel like you are in a modern environment. Clean and comfortable rooms.

Great location, a short walk to Union Square and Chinatown. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff are very friendly.

The boss let me have the bed for a change. She prefers to to sleep in the living room.

my experiences with the Ritz Carlton was wonderful. when you walk in you feel like royalty. the food and in house dining is wonderful, especially if you have a pass to the club room! the rooms are wonderfully decorated and the house cleaning staff is awesome and polite....this is the best hotel ive ever stayed at.

So we paid $450 per night and on the first morning the gym is closed because for some reason we lost power. Then we go to the restaurant for breakfast and have to wait over 20 minutes to even get a waiter. Can t get pancakes. What a joke!!! Should have stayed at huge Four Seasons

I was treated to a massage at the recently renovated spa which was wonderful. Arrived early and took a steam to relax beforehand. Afterwards, went to the bar for drinks and some appetizers while a guitarist played some great songs. The Ritz San Francisco is a beautiful hotel on Nob Hill and I had a wonderful experience. The massage, food and overall service were perfect. I highly recommend it !!!

Went for high tea and stayed for four hours chatting. The staff are very professional and provide good service. It's a few minutes walk to Chinatown, and Union Square. Quite central in SF. Great view of the city of you are staying at the higher floors. However I was a bit disappointed with the food. I think they are trying too hard to be fusion and some combinations came out rather weird. On the whole it was okay.

This was my first stay at any Ritz Carlton, and I was fairly impressed with everything here. The service was impeccable, from check-in to check-out. The room was decently sized, but didn't really blow me away or anything. I've stayed in larger suites in Vegas for a cheaper price. The location is about halfway between the Wharf and downtown/market area. Definitely walkable if that's your style, otherwise it's a cheap Uber ride to pretty much anywhere in the city. Overall a nice hotel if you can swing the price.

A unique Ritz that really stands out, has a great sense of personality and refined luxury. It is somewhat isolated but a true taste of San Francisco with the famed hills and trolley right outside the door....

Attended a wedding reception at the ballroom at the Ritz. Good venue, plenty of space for a large wedding reception, and staff was great.

They should change the name from "The Ritz-Carlton." It certainly didnt feel like one. Upset with the overall quality and service of the hotel. Happy to say that I won't be spending my money at the Ritz anymore after that experience. Rather spend that much money at another hotel that knows how to accommodate & service their guests. Plus the rooms weren't even that special. Overrated in my opinion.

"Putting on the Ritz" stellar remodeled public areas and Guest Rooms. Plus the JCB Tasting Room addition off the Lobby is a new favorite hide away.

Attended a professional event in one of the conference rooms and had a reception in the courtyard. Food and service was great. Very high class place.

Large rooms with modern set of amenities. Very nice!
Unfortunately the bed mattress was way to soft for my taste but I guess that's very individual.

Breakfast was OK but unreasonable pricey (pressed juice for $14 is just ridiculous).

Staff was very friendly and attentive.

All in all, good bang for the buck. Just changed from Vitale hotel which was equally priced but much worse in all aspects apart from the location and the breakfast.

Good service by the staff at the bar and a fun environment. Drinks were very expensive of course but it was a good experience

Impeccable standard from Hitz, but in particular this hotel is very old and the food from the breakfast is reasonable ... You can not compare it to the breakfast at the Hitz Carlton Hong Kong or Osaka for example.

If you want to feel luxurious and treat yourself like royalty you must check out this place.

In regards to the Holiday Tea: All the ladies in our group had such wonderful feedback about our Tea Party! Thank you Meaghan and the Ritz-Carlton so much for your attention to detail and quick action to make sure everyone could want for nothing. Your entire staff were courteous, professional, kind and exemplary. I would recommend your venue to anyone who asks! Tea, food and desserts were all delicious as well, my compliments to the chef!

Good location and nice decor. However, a little bit noisy.

Felt a bit outdated compared to some of the other hotels I stayed at, but it was in a safe neighborhood, close to decent places to shop and go out to (within walking distance) so overall wasn't a half bad experience. Valet was reasonable though I kept my car mostly in Valet and relied on Ubering around the city for the further destinations. Staff were extremely pleasant and I was on a secure floor which I liked since in some of the bigger hotels you have a lot of random traffic. Quiet rooms and comfortable beds. I didn't get to use the spa while here as I was too busy out in the city but maybe next time I'll check out the spa and other on-site facilities.

Fantastic location. Beautiful inside and out. Great service. Really nice bar. Room large and well decorated.
