The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Laguna Niguel Review

We visited for lunch at their outdoor patio cafe. The food and views were fantastic! I would recommend to anyone who's in the area that they come for a great lunch, and a wonderful time.

Just arrived. Like a zoo. Rooms not ready. No dining available in the restaurants. One has to line up to get outside dining. A huge disappointment. Will never stay at a Ritz Carlton again. Give me a Four Seasons any day.

Friendly, attentive staff in a beautiful location with plenty to do in the surrounding area.

First, the grounds are breathtaking. We live locally and go to dine once in awhile. The food is good servings could be a bit larger and servers are mostly pleasant. The thing I noticed this last time was that it could use some updating outdoors. Some wood structures were deteriorating and needed tlc.

Visited family who were staying in this hotel. I was so impressed with the beauty of this hotel. They have excellent swimming pools, are next to the beach, and have great service. I would say the only annoying thing about this hotel is the numerous weddings that occur in it. There were like 3 weddings happening when we visited with family.

An excellent experience. Expensive but you're coming here to be pampered and pay for it.

Tried to get an ocean view room and was told it would be $200 more a night on top of the $750 already paid. Our friends had an ocean view room and didn't pay extra...LIE. Got sick on the first day from their fish tacos eating at the outside bar. Management refused to offer anything for my inconvenience of being sick in my room for two days,; not even reimbursement for the darn tacos! Rooms were sub par from what I was expecting from the reputation of a Ritz Carlton! Our room was on the ground level and right outside was a moldy pond that attracted mosquitoes, yuck! None of their pools offered ocean views which I thought was really strange. Would rather stay at a Hilton. Over priced and did not live up to one would expect. Truly a disappointment. Hotel management will definitely be receiving a letter from me. Total bummer!

Location location location... and the food and the service... Every year at Christmas time they have an edible scene that is just a show stopper. Even if you don't stay there, visit it and have a drink to get one of the best view. Of all the Ritz I stay at, this is my favorite.

Beautiful hotel property.....the view is to die for!

This hotel is a great place to stay if you don't mind spending the extra cash that comes with a night here. The facilities are high end and the staff are very kind. The location is spot in steps from the beach and if that's too much there is even a shuttle that takes you up or down the path. With easy connections to public transportation such as the Laguna Beach trolley (Summers and weekends during off season) and the Dana point trolley (summer) it's simple to get around and explore far past the reaches of the hotel grounds (did I mention they're both free?). In the end it's a great resort and I highly recommend it.

I have stayed at this Ritz-Carlton about 7 different times for Mayo Clinic conferences held over the past decade. I have stayed at many premier resorts and luxury hotels around the globe in fact, and this Ritz certainly follows suit with the finest in the world. Compared to other Ritz-Carltons, this is more family-friendly (thinking about the Ritz in London), but that does not diminish the prestigious standards of the Ritz experience here at the Laguna-Niguel location. From their gorgeous and aromatic floral arrangements in the lobby (which should rotate in concept at least once upon your stay) to their trademark white marble baths, or the breathtaking Dana Point Beach to the first-class pool, spa, and gym facilities, The Ritz-Carlton at Laguna Niguel will be an unforgettable experience- and don't be afraid to take the whole family with you!!

Overly expensive and snooty hotel. But great ocean views.

Every time I stay in have the best time. The location is perfect, you have access to the best beaches in OC, and you definitely can't beat the view. The service here is by far one of the best I have seen at any hotel and they never let me down. All of the crew working on the club level are excellent and the main reason why my family and I continuously come back.

If you have the money, this is a great place to stay. I was fortunate enough to hang out with some Hollywood types, who stayed there for several days, and let me come by whenever. The food was great, as was the service.

Absolutely stunning place. It has amazing views, terrific service (most times), and the weather is perfect.

Update: Service was not good today (for breakfast) at Raya. It's like we weren't even here.

Update to the update:. They redeemed themselves and we had a great breakfast.

Would definitely return with my kids. Summer weather is probably better.

Magnificent 3 Diamonds property with a gorgeous view of the Ocean from most of the rooms, plus an excellent restaurante!!!

Had a great time on the deck looking at the beach. Service was a bit slow and food was overpriced. I love the music and the fire pits.

Attended a black tie event in an impeccable ballroom. Food and drinks were great. Everything was top shelf.

What an amazing beautiful place we loved everything about it. The thing that just took my breathe away just walking in was all the beautiful fresh flowers all around and inside the hotel. Just breathe taking!

Service slow. Bathrooms towels did work. Basic things for a high end hotel. Very sad.

I attended a wedding here and the location was wonderfully scenic and beautiful. We had a great time walking on the beach and looking out onto the water. It was also a lovely venue for a wedding. My one complaint would be that the only bathrooms available to us required passing through an extremely crowded hallway where a buffet had been set up for some other event the hotel hosted. I don't mind sharing a bathroom with other events but it was frustrating to have to make my way through an enormous crowd while dressed up and in heels.

This was my first stay here. My wife and I absolutely love this place. We spent a few days at the Ritz Carlton before staying at the Montage. Both resorts are absolutely wonderful. I would suggest either one to anyone. If you stay here I would suggest the Steakhouse, so good. I order key lime pie for desert. They did not have it and they made some small sampler with gold flakes. It had real gold flakes, never thought I would eat gold.

The place looked neat and had a great view of the ocean. However, dinner was not as a great experience as I expected it to be. I had a New York Prime that was overcooked. My waitress did not ask about the meal once although I eyed her. She also lied about bringing more bread. We had asked her for more cheese bread and she said OK. The next time she was at our table, she said the bread will be out in 2 mins. Half a hour later she said that the kitchen has stopped making bread and she cannot bring any over. I think my party would have felt better if she said we were limited to bread instead of being lied to. Overall, my walk around the hotel was more enjoyable than the experience I had at dinner there.

All the staff are very friendly and accomodating. The rooms with ocean views and balconys are so nice and comfortable.

We got an Oceanview balcony room on the top floor. Gorgeous view. Very courteous staff. Beach butlers and beach shuttle are awesome. The floral arrangements in the corridors are a nice touch. Complimentary waters for the road were much appreciated. The macaron room service is fantastic. I signed up for a garden tour but nobody showed up. Spent 80 or so additional for resort fees and parking. The cottontails here are adorable. garden well maintained.

Visited this place in August for a marriage. It has a great combo of outstanding views and ambience.

The hotel is on a beautiful property and the hotel public areas are great. The rooms are very similar to a few years ago and may be due for an update. The service is excellent, as expected, and the pool and beach area are unparalleled. The hotel is also great for professional events. I have been here a couple times bow and always look forward to returning. This is overall a fantastic hotel.

This place is gorgeous with an incredible view of the beach and the ocean. The staff, as always at the Ritz, provide the most incredible service. I really like how the different gathering areas were separated from each other giving you the sense that you/your group are the only ones there

Loved the breathtakingly beautiful grounds and the fact that property directly connected to Salt Creek Beach, unbelievable sunset. Didn't love high parking and resort fees ($50 each) or super crowded valet area. Room was ok, not terribly impressive and no noise privacy between the room and bathroom. Gym was too small for property and very crowded.

If you have a choice between the two, Santa Barbara Ritz Carlton has similarly stunning scenery, but much nicer rooms and a large fitness center.

Outstanding in all ways - the room was very comfortable, the view of Salt Creek Beach is breathtaking. The swimming pool and spa are wonderful and open around the clock. There is coffee in the lobby at 5:00 am. Everything has been considered and approached in the most creative and relaxing way. What a wonderful getaway!
