Chilli paneer was too ketchupy. Chilli mogo was nice
Authentic Indian food at a reasonable price, food was amazing.
Good service... Good to see that the regency ale is kentish ale. Great food especially the leg of lamb... But make sure you order that in advance.
Rushed service, told what time we had to leave as soon as we walked in for our booked table. We ordered a selection of starters and mains both veg and non-veg, which was of reasonable quality but served on the table with little space for plates and cutlery. The tables are far too cramped to enjoy a meal with group larger than 4 people.
In short: decent food, rubbish service which spoiled the atmosphere
Excellent quality food, reasonable prices. Service is a bit to be desired. Highly recommended.
Can't fault this place... Great atmosphere friendly staff, always smiling as it should be. Unbelievably great tasting food...Can watch football on big screens... Definitely will go again.
I love the Regency. Its reputation speaks for itself! Some of the finest Indian grilled meat platters you will ever find. Plus an extensive vegetarian selection. Garlic mogo chips a must order - you will not regret it!
First time here...banging...got the mix grill...lambs needs softening before grilling
Brilliant food, beverages and service. I will be back!
The food in this place is unbelievable. Its not a place which great decor or a place where you would probably want to bring someone for a special night out. However, the food in the place is just fantastic and you will be back for more.
I have been visiting this restaurant for over 15 years and it has never let me down. The food has been consistent if not better on each occasion.
Last visit I ordered the lamb chops and chicken wings for starters. The lamb chops are the best I've had anywhere. The right amount of spices and cooked to perfection so when you take a bite they are so succulent and melts in your mouth. Chicken wings were also nice. I would also highly recommend the lamb mushkaki and lamb kebabs.
For mains, I always order the lamb Karahi medium hot only because you get to taste the real flavours of the curry. The lamb is always cooked perfectly, defo one of my favourite dishes. Other dish I ordered was the Bombay chicken bahar ... this is my new love which replaced the methi chicken kheema. Reason being is that its the same dish however with chicken tikka pieces chucked in which makes it very tasty. Although I would definitely recommend the CMK too.
Didn't try any of the veg food as was only 2 meat eaters, but would highly recommended most of the veg starters such as the garlic chilli Mogo, mushrooms and chilli paneer.
Only down side is that it's always busy not sure if that's a good thing or not but on busy nights it can be a bit of a wait, but hey it's worth every minute so don't be put of by Pankhaj telling you sorry bro it's a bit of a wait
Noisy and were forces to hurry up....not that great taste as compared to Indian restaurants in India....nor that worthy for the amount they charge
Awesome place. Great food. Little gem hidden in London. Crowded but that's a good sign of it's popularity. You'll receive good service here and the food with be excellent.
Superb. Loved the atmosphere and the food, friendly service, can't fault it!
Gone downhill. Not what it used to be before the refurb. Food quality poor due to rushing to get out by chefs
Decent. Shame they have a 2 hour turnaround policy but good that they allow kids...
Quality has gone down. Management putting a lot of pressure on staff to get as many customers in and out. We were asked 7 times to order mains as they wanted the table back, but still had 1.5 hours left.
Catering for the mass. My family and I have been going for years and after today, no more. Really disappointed
The most overrated restaurant I have come across - if you are vegetarian why bother coming here? - chilli paneer dish is mostly onions and peppers to fill the space in the plate than actual paneer. Food way too spicy for a medium, seating is not good and bar full of middle aged men everywhere. Not the best sight for a young family.
Had to wait over 1.5 hours for a table but it was worth the wait (our fault for not booking). The food and service was great, some of the best Indian dishes I had tasted.
Great place to eat, recently been redecorated so new seating etc. Service has always been good. Indian food. Good place to eat/drink/watch football.
Absolutely blown away by the quality and standard of food and service. Kamal did a fantastic job going through the menu and his recommendations were spot on.
Only caveat is that we pop over on a Saturday without any reservations and a party of 5 is always a challenge, so we had to wait about an hour at the bar to be seated. But none the less soaked up the history and let the old school vibe of the establishment deep in.
You have to try their Crispy Bhindi, Paneer Tikka and Vegetable Bahar
I am italiano so I know everything about tasty food. Regency is my favorito indiano ristorante and if you would like to visit it I would really recommend it. A visit to the pan shop next door, after dinner is a must as the pans are really nice and they help you with digestion. Very very nice.
The doorman was a little blunt because we didn't have a reservation but he managed to fit us in so credit to him. The food was absolutely incredible, pleasantly they also have a good selection of beers which is pretty uncommon for a Indian restaurant
Excellent food and service. Great selection and drinks. We had a good time as a group and would definitely recommend. Everything was delicious.
Still one of the best for Kenyan inspired tandoori cusine and increasingly more couple and female friendly with fewer old men hogging the place.
Loving going here, the food is always special, special mix grill! Nice N Spicy!
The food great. The service leaves something to desire.
Always a great place for food, very consistent and my go to place. I drive typically over an hour to come here so it says a lot. The kebabs are tender, Jeera chicken is must along with the chilli mogo. Currys are fab.
Rushed to our table at 7.35, when it was booked for 8pm . Extremely rude and obnoxious staff. Waiting staff brought the food to the table and spun the dishes on the table.I have been coming here since it opened, I won't be going back .I was with a party of seven,it was embarrassing.
Very nice decor and good Indian and some middle eastern cooking. The drinks were a little bit slow to get to the table so my first vodka soda was flat. Food was great, good amount of spice and you can even order it hotter if you'd like.
Went there on the weekend. Everyone raves about it, unfortunately our food wasn t particularly great and some of it hadn t even been fully defrosted.
We were a bit shocked that such a well recommended place is just reheating frozen foods.
Can t really see the point of that.
Hopefully they will focus on fresh foods.
Cocktails were not nice. The starters were good. The main course was mediocre. Went for a 21st bday. I would go for a normal week night dinner. Sporting events are aired and so attacts a noisy ambience
1st time since the refurb! the place looks great.. cant go wrong with Regency
Great food
Worth going there. On Sundays, children are allowed.
Excellent Pub/Curry House, Great selection of dishes.
Good food, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff. Order at your table, food and drinks, delivered quickly. Busy early evening, quieter later. Sport on big screen TV's. Reasonably priced. Not cheap, but not over priced either. Wide variety of food and drinks.
Lovely atmosphere and we were pleased with the quality of the food, the staff very helpful and near us too If we needed anything.
Fantastic food. Friendly service. Amazing authentic atmosphere
Good Gujarati style food getting a bit pricey in here now
We were served by a lady called Kapka. It was an absolute pleasure to meet her she is definitely an asset to the restaurant. The restaurants service was fast and food was great.
A full website would be useful as there is no information about the restaurant.
Been here a few times. Never fails to amaze you.
Food is alway consistantly amazing.
The chops and wings are my personal fav.
Great busy environment with birthday parties , family get togethers and sports going on around you.
Always fully booked so make you book a table well in advance.
Even tho its always fully booked you never have to wait longer than 10min for your food to get to your table.
My top 5 fav restaurants kenyan style dishes and taste lovely atmosphere.
Not as good as it use to be ordered some food and it was extremely oily. Over all I would recommend the food, staff are friendly once you have eaten they are on top of you to pay the bill and leave it does get very busy.
I have been going to this place for years, since I lived in Hackney.
The last 5 times I have been the food has not been good. People will get to find out. Need to address.
Fresh food and good drinks. Good value for money. Friendly staff always happy to help.
Just stick to starters, the regulars take precedence over new comers in attention to service and they try to rush you to order
A cousin from New York was desperate to go to this Regency place everyone had been telling him about. I live just a few minutes away and have never been. We went last night and the food and ambience is great. Will definitely be making more regular visits.
Quite annoyed. Been going there for years but new policy means you have the table for a fixed amount of time and once that time is up (or even before its up) you are told to leave even if you are ordering more food! Absolute joke. Food More
We recently ordered a take away and we were not happy. Firstly the food arrived after 90 minutes of ordering and when it did get here it was cold. No point ordering a take away if you have to warm it up in the microwave again.
We called the restaurant and was told by a member of staff that they were busy and that's why the food was probably cold.
Have been eating regency food for years but we were really dissapointed with the cold food and no help from the
restaurant after calling them.
My first time at an Indian run pub. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back
The Regency is an extremely popular traditional Indian Restaurant in the heart of Queensbury that is a staple for locals.
It has recently undergone a huge and stunning refurbishment to give it an elegant feel with a beautiful tiled floor and old library style feel.
There are lots of vegan, vegetarian, fish and meat options available making it extremely popular for all.
Try the mogo chips, crispy okra and lamb cutlets or chops. To finish it off, round of the meal with one of the kulfi options
Seriously amazing food here. Mix of veggie, feh and meat served
Nice food
Staff is really good.
Thank you Devendra for excellent service and good suggested for dessert.
Great Indian food, which isn't too spicy, quick service, and lots of seating. You will need to book, which is not possible on line.
Food was ok..ish the taste of all main disk curries was the same.
Always rushed out to accommodate others food too generic
Great authentic Indian food, especially the starters. Service is amazing and very prompt. Beers are well kept.
Honestly the only thing good about this place is the food, the service is horrible, from waiting 20 minutes to get the menu, having to get up and leave my table to find a waiter to take my order only to be told "I don't take food orders, you need to speak to that guy" pointing a finger (perhaps asking the waiter to come to my table to take my order is a better idea)? Oh, lets not forget the waitress that clearly hates her job & gives my partner an uncomfortable evil stare everytime she walks past our table! Won't be returning.
I have been going to The Regency Club for about 15 years and have seen it grow from being just a pub to being a place which is now revered for it's excellent food. In fact I didn't realise how good it was until I moved away and tried a few other places that were more local to me and that's when I knew that the quality and taste of the food is second-to-none. The place is is usually packed with people eating on almost every day of the week and it's particularly busy at the weekends such is it's popularity and this unfortunately means that people have to wait a while to get a table and those eating my feel rushed. But this is necessary because it's so popular and so many people want to eat there and I think it's worth the wait if you have to wait and if you are rushed it's so that others can have a chance to eat their awesome food. I've been to many Indian restaurants around the world but this place never fails to live up to my expectations and it's one of the only places I actually crave when I am out of the country. This place is so popular amongst its customers that some have been known to come directly from the airport to eat after returning from their holidays to get their fix. Give it a try - the food is so good and the costs are reasonable. You can't say fairer than that.
