I have a similar story to Alie Chan's. I received a collections notice from CTL, with the options of calling to make a payment. When you call, you're only given the option of leaving a voicemail for Leslie. She never returned any voicemails. I've since found this collections item on my credit report, and again attempted to contact CTL's collections department. I left 5 voicemails, and this time I did get a call back. Leslie called me back this time, refusing to accept or admit that she had never before returned my voicemails. Leslie went further to then raise her voice to a near shout, informing me that she would no longer communicate with me over the phone. When I asked how I should contact her, she repeated that it couldn't be over the phone, then hung up on me.

I've initiated a dispute with the crediting agencies.

I will never use any company associated with CTL M...

I will never use any company associated with CTL Management again. The office or the credit companies made a mistake on my credit and it has been incorrect for years. Leslie, collections supervisor, seems to be the most miserable person. She clearly hates her life or her job and took it out on me. Ofcourse I have questions concerning why this mistake was made and how it will get resolved and how this will affect my credit. This mistake is not at all my fault and she seemed so bothered that I had questions. It was so bad I asked her if she was ok. I mean you never know something bad could of recently happened and maybe she didn't notice she was taking it out on others, but no. She made it clear and sarcastic she is fine and I am the problem. She continued to be rude and flat out mean. I asked if i could talk to a supervisor to go over my concerns and she said she is the supervisor and that I can't complain to anyone about her. After that she hung up on me. Im still in shock and doing everything I can to let her company know about her actions. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Im now waiting for BBB to reply about the horrible interaction.

I don't understand what these slumlords have to do...

I don't understand what these slumlords have to do with a nice children's hospital. I hope the children at their hospital are treated better than the tenants in the buildings they own.

I have been one of their tenants since 2007, at a two-bedroom apartment in southeast Portland. They have more than DOUBLED the rent since I moved in, while making ZERO improvements on the building.

In fact, it is deteriorating, with appliances constantly breaking, mold in the walls that is never addressed, and ancient wall-to-wall rugs that are never replaced unless tenants move out.

Slumlords. They are slumlords. This is what they are. Charging what they can, making profit over people's need to be housed, housing us in actually dangerous and unhealthy conditions -- while running a children's hospital.

It's a strange world, and these hospital-running capitalists are strange people.
